Fuel system bleeding down
I had the same problem and it was the return line and the return tee leaking . They were wet however and easy to spot. You just might have a small leak letting air in and not fuel out.

The SR-71 Blackbird: Maj. Brian Shul talks about his "sled" adventures
That is an exceptional airdraft and 1960's tech built it. Kelly Johnson as his folks built some extroidinary aircraft. It was very good read.

NV4500 Woes ? what is going on ?
I think the biggest draw back to the NV5600 is the cost ify you have a problem with it. It costs upwards of $3k for a good rebuild. It is something I definately would not try myself.

Temp fluctuation
I have a low temp problem with some swinging. I have been thru 2 ECM's, one from a rebuilder and the last from Dodge. Neither helped mine. My problem is differant thatn yours however.

Am I just negative ? Or is our nation and world really on a downhill slide?
I have looked at this thread several times and everytime I started to reply I realized ther would be no place to end the reply. If our elelcted leaders dont wake up we will all be in the out house. I dont need tham to take care of me or my family, I will assume that responsibility. Can you say 4 more years and a $20,000,000,000,000 national debt. Mayb I'll just go to Greece and retire.

pyrometer sensor location
I have had mine in the same location for 7 years now. I pull heavy but not often.

Small cracks in the frame
Might be. I checked mine and it is boxed also.

lift pump.... I would of sworn it was in the tank!
The bracket Mike is talking about allows the pump to be mounted perpendicular to the frame. Mine came with 2 brakets to sandwhich the frame between them, but only allows for a parrallell install. I was under the impression the right angle braket was not available anymore also.

Lift Pump Confusion - 2001
The closer to the tank the better.

Tach Problem
I am running the Timbo apps on mine, but it never changed the tach bouncing. Mybe 25% of the time it sits steady the rest of the time it bounces a little. I have not really paid much attention to it since the engine idles smooth. Just got used to it over the years.

lift pump.... I would of sworn it was in the tank!
Mine still runs thru the factory filter with no issues.

Tach Problem
Mine has always bounced a little with no change in the engine. By a little I mean only 10 rpm. It has done since it was new.

First Time Towing
My previous truck, 96 dodge 3/4 ton with V10, would pull my rv great. I had plenty of power and no lack of speed. The only thing it would not pull was past a gas station. 4.5 mpg. More than doubled that with the Cummins with plenty of power and more speed than you need.

NV4500 Woes ? what is going on ?
Rock Auto sells a slave with a bleeder screw. Not sure wich one it is but I bought one a while back. It made bleeding very easy. I replaced my master 2 years ago and wish 200 pumps was true. I pumped mine for ever just to get it on the road and it took me near 3 weeks of driving to get it completly bled. It still was a fair amount cheaper than buying the pre bled unit.

911 help!!! Clutch slave problems
Here is Mike's write up http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/28-transmission-systems/54-hydraulic-clutch-master-and-slave-replacement My replacement had a bleeder screw on it and I bled on the truck. I am not sure how to bleed one with out the screw and on the truck.

oil pressure
Mine acts like Mike's video warmed up. When cold it goes to near 80 until it warms up. Just take s longer to come down when it is cold out. As the temp gauge goes up the oil pressure comes down.

Time to switch hats again...
good luck my friend and travel safe.

What's the thread size on the vp & oem filter housing?
If you have the newer fuel canister, the one the filter loads from the top, both the inlets to the canister and the vp are the same thread size. That would lead me to believe to outlet on the canister is the same also. The banjo bolts appeared the same when I swapped mine.As far as the size, I dont know.

I need some info on a retrofit lift pump.
I ran a dual setup for quite a while before I knew much about these fuel systems. It worked fine but I always worried about one of them going out. I did not have a FP gauge either. A fuel pressure gauge is just as important as a good lift pump.
-
Engine Swap??
I swapped my gauge cluster with one from another truck and it showed the miles the other truck had and not what my truck had on it. i would still think one of the computers would have to store the correct milage. I would have to agree that changing the milage on the truck is pobably illegal.

Need your knowledge! Upcoming Part Interchange Article
My 02 has the CAD. I think they were on some of the early 02's. Bought mine in 01.

Boost just cruzin
flat ground 2 maybe 3 psi. It is very minimal at that speed on flat ground.
-
stock fuel filter
Do you have anything on your fuel gauge to isolte it from the pulses of the vp? They will cause your pressure to jump up and down and eventually take out the gauge. I have a needle valve installed on the tap for my gauge. It is barely cracked open and isolates the gauge from the pulses. - - - Updated - - - They are the same,I just dont remember what size they are. Maybe someone else knows off hand.
