Front brake dust shields
Spacer looks like this https://torqueking.com/product/10961/qu10961-brake-shield-spacer/. Mine have been off for years too. I'm gonna do rotors soon which involves removing bearings on a 99. Slip on rotors apparently were not invented yet. I thought now would be the time to replace the shields, but if they are not available I guess I won't. This place appears to have them special order for $120 a piece . No thanks. Just got a replacement Dorman set for my 03Tahoe and Advance had them in stock for $35 a set. I guess there's no market for them in the 2nd gen Dodge world. Thanks for the replies. They stay off.

Hey you guys I got to get rid of a skunk.....
I found them. Or rather they found me. I've been seeing these trucks around lately. I thought Dripley was out to get me. Then I realized this place opened up about 4mi. from me. Gotta watch my back now. https://www.freedomrangerhatchery.com/freedom-ranger-chickens.asp

Loosing Prime / Crossover Tube O-rings
Pepsi, you're at 320 right? I've read that high pop pressures can cause hard starts in cold weather. You and I are at the same altitude and area at least when you're in Reading. Any trouble cold starting in our winters? Curious because injectors are on my short list and I'd like to try higher pop pressure. I just noticed your sig. and I see your popped at 322.

What about that spacer in there? Can that go away too??

Front brake dust shields
Well, that's good to hear. What's your reason for that? What about the spacer that's in between the shield and the unit bearing? What's it's purpose? I was thinking I'd replace it all if I could. I never got the chance to remove them. PennDot's road salt did it for me.

Front brake dust shields
I did too. If you click on any of those pictures it's a dust shield alright, but for anything other than a Dodge. Going to Dormans website directly does not yield any results, at least not for a 1999. I am finding some later model stuff though. Forgot about them. I'll check. I checked. 3500's start at 2003 model year in LMC. Looks like my 99 is obsolete

Sorry. This should be in the non-powertrain section. I screwed up.

Front brake dust shields
Anybody know where to get dust shields for a 1999 3500? None of the auto parts stores carry them. Also checked Dorman, Summit, and Amazon. No luck. I'd think somebody has to offer them.

2019 clean air act
Well said. I have all the respect in the world for our police force. But there's always those few power abusers that give them all a bad name. Like the one self proclaimed DOT cop we had. He decided to do a trailer detail one spring when everybody was hauling mulch. EVERY trailer big and small got pulled over and checked. Trouble was he used the drive in front of the fire house as his checkpoint and the trucks couldn't get out . He was the one that usually wore the swat team uniform.

2019 clean air act
I know what your'e saying, and I don't disagree. But the way my mind works is that it's a federal law then every state in the federation should have the same standards across the board. They don't. Here in the state of the highest fuel taxes in the nation gas vehicles get an OBD2 emission test in my county. To the east and west of us they get sniffed. To the north of us it's just a visual to make sure they're not running open headers. Diesel vehicles however are exempt state wide and the other day I saw a guy running a hood stack. That's a lot of variation for a law that's supposed to be a federally enforced law. God help us when Elizabeth Warren gets in office.

2019 clean air act
This is what I hate to read about. How on earth can any cop know all the emissions laws when the so called federal law varies by counties within a state? And then claim to know what equipment came on a truck that was manufactured when they were still in elementary school? Ahole cop is the key word here.

Torque Converter Lock / Unlock Issues
Here's my take on it. Your alternator is probably on the edge of putting out excessive AC noise. The higher the electrical load, ie. AC running the harder the alt. works and the higher the AC noise. For example my alternator at no load puts out an acceptable .03 VAC. When the grid heaters cycle that value jumps to .1 VAC. This is why my unlock issues were always worse in the winter before I put the grid heaters on a switch. Have you checked for AC noise? There's an article about it in the articles section. Here's a link for you. And this

You sound a lot like me. Now on a personal note I have a Transgo TFOD and I'm very happy with it.Sure I'd love a full built auto but 5k + another 1k to ship it across the country is hard for me to swallow. My slippage problems are gone and have been ever since I installed it in like 2011. I also have a lockup switch and would not go without. I use it for towing but like it also for pulling out to pass another vehicle. Yoy know that sinking feeling when you pull out, mash the pedal, and truck unlocks and drops a gear and falls on it's face? Push the lock button ( i use a momentary push button), roll on the pedal, and I'm gone. See Ya! IBMOBILE's idea is ingenious but way to complicated for what I use it for. But then nobody else drives my truck either. Sounds like you got a lot of work to do. Have fun!

Tie rod ends
I think you'd do good with those. Mine are doing well but I don't have a ton of miles on them either. Rock Auto buys closeouts and bulk deals and gets better pricing that way. I've already bought struts from them that said unmarked package or something like that and when I opened the plain box there were NAPA pro's inside.

Tie rod ends
Nothing is, not even me. 20 years ago for mine. Mine are not bad yet. I bought these when I did the ball joints the first time figuring while I'm in there anyway. Originals are still good but when I go to replace them I think I'll e-bay the Spicers and get some Delcos. That stuff seems to be holding up well for me. Fire wood heated garage. No more freezing this guys a** off . Been there done that.

Tie rod ends
Ac Delco ball joints and drag link here along with NAPA trac bar and TRE. My Spicer ball joints lasted a whole 12k. I won't use that junk again. I have a pair of their axle joints laying on the shelf and I'm scared to put them in. I'll probably sell them.
