2 stroke test results I have not seen yet ?
If memory serves me right, the gel point for #1 and #2 diesel is different. But it's been many years since I read it and don't remember. Is the -20 degrees for 2 or 1 ?I agree with the theory of the water and the added salt water. But when having a discussion with a friend, the gel point entered my mind, and found quiet a bit of test and info on adding the oil, but nothing containing if this benefits the temp range diesel can be used in, and how much it will drop the gel point say for 1 oz/gal or 1/2oz/gal..Now my friend goes near the US / Canadian border to visit family during the holidays. He used the 2 stroke since he has an older engine. But he uses other additives so it doesn't gel when the weather gets as cold as it can there. And the stories he's told me of when he was a kid on that farm, it can get cold.I don't worry about it where I live at, the temps are not that bad. Just wanted to see if there was actual studies or documentation on it.

2 stroke test results I have not seen yet ?
Ok, I hate it when a question pops in my mind and I just can't find the answer. And, I'm crossed eyed looking the site over to satisfy this question.I know it as the 'gel point' where diesel 'starts' a gel effect when temps drop due to the winter climate ?When 2 stroke oil has been added to standard #2 diesel, does this gel point temp drop ... or not ?Any lab test on this ?

1st a question and then a venting ...
Plenty of insurance but they didn't mention 'underinsured', thanks. That old truck wasn't worth that much. But my Dodge still is, gonna check into it.

1st a question and then a venting ...
My agent told me he gave him a copy of the police report. The agent was due one since he was covering them and they turned a claim in. And my agent said he would let him look it over and and decide himself. Looks like I would be using the uninsured coverage portion in my insurance for me and they will have to battle it out. It just gets me that you can't have something nice, because someone 'has' to mess it up. Thank God it wasn't my Dodge.

1st a question and then a venting ...
Insurance agent just call today with a bit of news that made me laugh.Seems my agent called the lady to get some info about the accident and when asked of insurance, she said she has and gave an agency name and number. He didn't say he had a copy of the police report and they stated she has a suspended license and no insurance. So he call to discuss this with the agent and found out the husband was there and the policy was issued, dated the day of the accident, but timed at 2:25 pm. (the police report stated the 911 call was timed at 1:53 pm and they arrived at 1:57 pm since they were just down the street) Seems when she called her husband about the accident and they took the wife and kids to the hospital, he was so concerned, he raced to an agent for a policy. Their agent was checking the computer while talking to my agent and said the guy must of called minutes after he had a policy and reported an accident and filed a claim about 3:00 pm. Maybe it's just me, but this is going to be interesting .....

1st a question and then a venting ...
Mike, tweezers don't work, their to smooth. Going to see if I can buy a very narrow and long needle nose pliers next time I go to the store. diesel4life, the old truck was an old Mazda that was a small parts runner for local use. This way I stay away from the wife's truck and I don't mess with my Dodge (my wife calls her my mistress). And if one of my kids needed a vehicle when we lived near then, that was their part time free rental. Thus leaving mama's and my trucks alone. Nothing was wrong with it until the girl folded the front end. AND THE CD WORKED GREAT ! The new one is a 2004 Nissan Frontier XE King Cab, v-6, 5speed, 4x4, and lot's of internal toys. Runs great, looks clean and will be used as the small parts runner. Don't need the CD, but I'm old and favor my old time music of the 50's, 60's and 70's. On the Mazda and this one, plenty of insurance. Just a little pi**ed that others are to cheap to insure their cars or maintain a license.

1st a question and then a venting ...
Does anyone know how to take a CD that is stuck in an am/fm/cd player out that is in a 2004 Nissan Frontier XE King Cab ? I have tried the disconnect battery to reset and it doesn't work. I tried the inserting a business card to trick the player that it's an original CD and that doesn't work. And ideas to remove it without taking it to the dealer ?Please let me vent now:Last friday I was in a left turn lane waiting for the light to green and when it did, it appeared to be safe, so I started my left turn when a nice young lady in her 20's, I guess, thought my spare little pickup needed a body modification. I will say she did a great job. Never thought the front left section of a truck could curve that much. Also, the wheel now bows in a polite manner when you look at it. Looks like the frame is bent. On top of that, I guess she had so much to do in life, she couldn't find time to get a drivers license or insurance. But, thank God, she did have enough time to get car seats and put her two small children in them. She seemed upset a bit when I call the 911 and reported an accident, since it was in the middle of a very busy intersection that now had very long lines of traffic with upset people wanting to get around us. (funny no one stop to ask if someone was hurt or if they need to call 911) Heck, her kids were screaming louder than all the cars racing by. I was surprised the cops were there that fast. About 2 minutes. Must have been at a local coffee shop and leaving the parking lot. Kids seemed ok, but the cops sent them to the hospital to be checked since the oldest was 2 and the youngest was about 6 months. Now I have to wait for the police report to find out who actually owns the vehicle she drove and if it's insured or not. I guess it's to hard now a days for some people to:1. Get drivers license2. Get insurance3. Maintain vehicle properly4. Then DRIVE RESPONSIBLYAll in all, not knowing how long this will take with the insurance company, I happen to find and bought another spare little truck. 2004 Nissan Frontier 4x4 6 cyl 5 speed King Cab. And the only thing that is wrong is a 'CD stuck in the player' that I can't get out. Thanks for any info I can get ...... and for letting me vent. (Still trying to quench this urge to hit something with my fist. Hopefully it will subside soon).

Happen to communicate with someone I use to work with and was told the policy hasn't changed. The diesel is sent to a storage tank where it sets for a predetermined time. Our Storage tanks maximum storage of 180,000 bbls (and at 42 gallons per barrel, that maximum of 7,560,000 gallons). Up to 100,000 bbls they let it set still for 24 hours and sample for specs and water dilution. If it passes test, they ship. For water count, if it doesn't pass, it sets for 12 hours more and test again. Continued until pass or reprocessed. (there are federal / state standards to be met) After that, it's either piped or trucked. * If piped, it is sent to a line going outside of the facility, general to the 'Spot Market' or the companies actual satellite shipping facilities. From there it can be shipped anywhere in the country or trucked from there. Depends of the area and needs. They are to check their vessels / delivery trucks for water prior to shipment, like the refineries. * When trucked from our facility, the trucks are to clean their tanks prior to fill and this is to remove prior products and clean for water. The check is done by 'the driver' prior to fill. They deliver to the station. If there is water in the truck load, should be a very low count. Now if there is, this will collect in the stations tank. At the local station, the draw point is determined by design of the tank for the pump pickup point. This is never at the bottom of the tank. This allows the water to settle to the bottom for later removal. 'IF' the station does what they should do and have their tanks serviced when needed, the water will not get to your tank. If the draw point is not right … or they didn't service when needed, you can get water. The stations is actually the final point for water extraction prior to you purchase. Depends on how good they are to their customers would determine how much water your fuel / water separator sees. It's usually better to service their equipment properly instead of a bunch of pi**ed off truckers yelling and suing them.

Princess's Castle!
Haven't thought of this in years since my daughter was in that stage of life in the early '80's.. When she was a child I built one with 'Balsa Wood'. Don't know if there is a supply out there, but back then they has small sheets and stock of different sizes. Glue ... heck yea, it worked well. Made it where you could turn it around and it was like looking into the rooms from the other side of the house. It can be done without nails and screws. Sorry, so long ago, never thought of pictures or plans. But I remember the plans I found were from the local library, today they should be on the net.

Brand of tires?
I've only had one set of Yokohama's in my life. They must of been a harder compound, not sure of wear, but when you hit moisture, they slid over the water. Almost went over a cliff because of it. Tires were changed real quick. Lost money on them, but learned a lesson. There might be some here that like them, but I recommend anything besides Yokohama.

Oil Filter Full
I have always seen the level in the filter I remove about 1" or slightly more below the threads. This is either a few minutes after shutting off (for a complete oil change) or cold (for just a filter change out). I thought this level was normal when there was no flow or pressure for these engines.

Sorry but I laughed, I've seen hodge podgee of mechanical mechanisms, and this takes the cake.- Vote 2012
Going to call it a night. Seems from what I've seen on TV, we need to change the name of the country to The United States of Europe. Hope I'm wrong when I wake up tomorrow morning. At the rate he's going, we'll owe over 26 trillion soon and I guess the only way to get out of debt is putting up a 'For Sale' sign along the entire border. Guess we need to learn to speak chinese, they have to best bet of buying us with their I Owe You they have from us.I feel depressed.- Vote 2012
I agree. It's very important to vote. I did as soon as the early election doors opened. Now I have to wait till day after tomorrow to see if were going to be the same as the last 4 years or travel a different path.I need change ......- Another Furd Diesel Bites the Dust
Sure do, but I'm not sure who was selecting the parts, they were questionable when they finished building them. Didn't see anything I liked or believed in. As for the Fords, after the last truck I had of theirs, (the 05 6.0 diesel) it might be a cold day in he** before I consider another. Everyone one I knew who had one got rid of it because of problems. Most issues was constant issues with all the equipment attached to the engine, not many with engine issues. How many times can a person have their trucks in the shop before they call it quits ? Only one left I personally know of that has his, but he's a die hard nothing but Ford guy, no matter what. Will say I've heard many positives with the newer Ford engine since then. But once burnt, always on guard.- Another Furd Diesel Bites the Dust
Mentioned in the past I had an 05 Ford and all that happened in the first 20k of it's life. But it did teach me a valuable lesson. I look 3 times at a vehicle before considering buying it. Cost of that Ford with their problems and the extra I ended up paying to trade it in for my Dodge was to high for me. Why can't they take the best of all of them, make one truck for each weight class and make the public happy and wanting to buy a truck. Now a days it's 'take a best guess', 'pray and hope you got something worth your time and money'.- To all members on the East Coast
I as watching the weather report and with what they were saying, it appears the storm will split into 2 major fronts when it gets to land. One will enter land and dumps wind and rain while raising the sea levels at shoreline. Then the second center will be building strength and enter land bringing more. Like a double whammy and one heck of a lot of water.Wishing nothing but safety and easier weather results to all you nor-easters.- I hope this doesn't come to Idaho.
Ahhhh ... but there are rich people out there that believe in the hype of the rich paying more as pushed by this administration. But let's go back a bit back in time ..... Will Smith was in France promoting his latest movie when a talk show host said in France, at Will Smiths income, he would be paying 75% in income tax because they believe in the rich paying more. Now the look on Smiths face was worth seeing the interview. All he could do was shake his head and softly say "God Bless America", and changed the subject. Guess you can believe in it until you personally have to pay for it .... with a big time payment !- I hope this doesn't come to Idaho.
It was said there have been countries in the past that took weapons away from the general citizens and they were protected by the government. I believe their leaders were Stalin, Hitler, Mao and such. And it's documented papers were found after WW2 that said an attack was never to happen from the Japanese on our main land soil due to the fact they knew there was more weapons here than in their entire military forces combined and they knew we had an attitude against being taken over by a another government. I read an article that said if you counted all the weapons used for hunting in Wisconsin, and I believe Michigan, it would be considered the 2nd largest armed force in the world. That did not count the rest of the stated added to the list. Who in their right mind would screw with us ?Now, Let's add in the U.N. and Clinton with the laws they want to impose to the world. That would make it impossible for anyone to own a weapon in the world, except the militaries for the established governments. (I'm not sure if this covers shotguns or single shot center fired rifles that would be allowed for hunting, but did include hand guns.) If you turn your back, the blood will flow.- I hope this doesn't come to Idaho.
Seems the statement the Mayor said only once, and very quickly, was if they are caring an illegal weapon to call. How do you know who is legal and not legal ? How soon will they be swamped with thousands of calls ? So what of the harassment to the legal owners ? Where does this money come from to pay the $1,000 ??? Another bail out ? In my area, there will be few calls, if any. We can care and many do, but they do it legally. And I feel this is another Democratic way to make us like England and feel lucky to own a shotgun or rifle.- Coolant Filter Install
Been looking into doing this. Can you drop the Fleetguard # please ?- Camaro owner records mechanics abusing car, scheming to get damages paid for
When I lived in California, my neighbor turned his car in for warrantee repair and got a rental. He told the service manager he and his wife worked and he would have to pick his car up after work when they are done. What he didn't know was an employee heard this, took his garage door opener and rob his house on the employees lunch time. It's bad enough to hear this, but many other things can happen when you turn your vehicle in for service.- 20 micron W/F separator in front of Raptor?
I'm not sure of the micron size it handles, but it's the old style metal can style in-line filter they use. You can buy them at AutoZone or Napa all day. They look like the type they used on the 50's and 60's chevy, about 2 1/2" long and 1 1/2" diameter with an inlet / outlet on each side, and very cheap.Sorry, it's an FF3248 and can be bought at Napa. Here's their filter info. FF 3248.pdf - How would you describe this to someone else..
