Added sport grille... sport headlights and bumper coming soon.
Get the full brackets for the grille as well, along with hood latches and mechanisms.

Yep. Automatic grey cupholder. Mine is totally shot. The sad part though, is that most of them are cracked to bits.

It took some modification to the stock grille bracket to make it work, but the install was pretty painless. However, it took "tweaking" the top of my bumper and raising the hood latch to its maximum travel to make it fit. I have a set of sport lights awaiting some relays & diodes, and sooner or later I am going to get a new plate bumper made. It was a perfect night for photos, and I figured you guys would enjoy looking at my baby! (I am not sharing photos of the trucks flaws, but they are slowly being eradicated.) Next on my list is a new cupholder, new overhead light switches, and a functioning A/C Pump!

Help me pick a turbo...
I have never dyno'ed it. Based off some really rough estimates, I would say 350+? I don't lack for grunt on low end, though with the hybrid it runs out of air at the top end. The hybrid also takes a lot of fuel to spool. I have read and re read your Garrett install... I really like the looks of it. My truck use and end goal is about the same as yours. I am just hesitant to spend that much on a turbo. That would likely be my first choice though. My other considerations were a Fleece controller and a VGE 351/451, but I don't like the added complexity to the system, and if it was so good, why don't I see more guys doing the Fleece VGE swap?

What size welder
Jon, In all honesty, I agree with W&F. I will add though, that welder might do the job, but it won't do the job a better welder would. And this is your frame. At this juncture, I would either take the money you were going to spend on a welder and either have a local dedicated welding & fabrication shop either drill the holes for you, or weld the brackets on and add some "fish scale" plates if you must weld it.

used dodge ram with cummins......
I just got back from Vernal, UT, an old oil field town. Vernal, and Wyoming have the most Cummins trucks of all generations per capita than anywhere I know of. Lots of 40-80k trucks parked in front of a haggard old 5th wheel camper in the middle of a field where the owner stays during his rotations. One welding rig stood out too, a 3rd gen that I estimate weighed ~13,000 lb. Accelerated from 65 to 80 to pass me in about two car lengths. North Dakota has a love for them, but like many things up there, it's hard to gauge how many are out in the wild. Those old farmers seem to keep their good stuff at home on the farm. Back when I was single, that was our theory on where the Nordic farmers daughters were kept... Safe at the farm with the like new pickups!

Help me pick a turbo...
I am looking for a new turbo and would appreciate your input. I currently have a hx35/40. I rarely tow, but would like to keep that capability. I really want low smoke, quickish spool, and enough air to keep things cool. I like drivability and don't race. Perhaps, I have too much injector as currently I have the comp dialed back and the smarty as well. I have too much fuel for the turbo I have at present. From my reading and thinking... A 63/68/14 might work well, but I am not sure. Money is always a concern as well... Plus, anybody want a hybrid?

BigTex 70TV
Big Tex trailers are good. We abuse a bunch of them at work. However, we do have the big 8 lug axles, and some are still bent. We off road and can load them to max rated weight. I wouldn't want to get one with the light axles. I never see one with straight axles aside from the guys that only drive on pavement... and even rarely then.

evil electrical issue need some serious back up
I had a similar issue, it turns out that I was backfeeding back into the power system through a poorly installed AirDog solenoid that was essentially acting like a transformer. I was able to eliminate the alternator & voltage regulator, as I pulled the alternator field wire and it still showed a spike in voltage across the battery terminals. The only real suggestion I have from my experience, is to try to think about what changes in your electrical or mechanical/electrical system when you see the issues. As in my case, it could be something totally unrelated, but causing mayhem with the sensors by putting too much power through the system.

Just upgraded to hx35, not happy
You can rig up a pvc bull plug fitting the same outside dia as the ID of your rubber turbo outlet coupling and put an air fitting (tire chuck schrader or whatever) in the end of it that will fit in the rubber that the turbo outlet runs into. MoparMan has a write up somewhere, but I can't find it right now. Just slowly pressure up (preferably with a regulator and stand alone gauge) and listen for hissing or use the soapy water test like on a tire. You can also test your gauge this way.

Vehicle Accident
Just get one of those programmable scrolling LED light bars that sams used to sell in the 90s and you can just type in a message... Hey babe! What are you doing Saturday night? Pass, you're a retard... You have food on your face... still there... yep... still there... Can you lick your elbow? 6.0L Ford? You have my pity. Need a tow later? Go Broncos... or whatever.

Memorial Day
In honor of our fallen heroes and family. So much has been sacrificed by so many who have served and by their families at home. Today, here in the United States, is the day we reflect upon that sacrifice. Thomas Jefferson once wrote that "freedom is fleeting." It is fleeting, and when I consider all of mans history from creation, I am blessed to be born in the United States of America. The sacrifices made by all, inspire me to attempt to live up to the standard that has been set. Let us not allow freedom to be fleeting in our generation, in honor of those who gave everything. Please feel free to contribute also.

01 lugnuts and center caps on 17" Gen 3 wheels?
The bevel on the lug nuts on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen are the same. Thread, as noted above, is the same on 2nd and 3rd gen. 4th gen uses different threads than 2 or 3. If you really want to check, go to dodge, and ask parts to show you one lug nut from a 99 and 05 to compare.

Got a new toy today
Very cool. The mechanical nut in me wants one... The realist clings timidly to my VP44 as I don't have the time to devote to it. Junk yard parts?

Latest mod to the truck
I like it. I really like it. Reminds me of a lot of the welding rigs I used to see in the oil patch a few years ago.

Oil Sample tooling
I guess not. Sorry bub.

Oil Sample tooling
So, its not good to just take a sample from the drain plug or a syringe from the filter? also... Where would you recommend to put the sample port?
