  1. Other than incoming fuel may hit fuel sender, The engineers are trying to justify their existence.
  2. Thanks guys for the travel in put. You can never have enough info when traveling into unknown areas. We'll be going to Des Moines, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota along with the Dakotas. My wife and I are still talking over Spring or Fall trip and it my come down to a leg wrestling contest. I've got to go to Wall Drug and ride that 'jackolope'.
  3. My wife and I are planning our next trip and the Dakotas are going to be included . I want to go the first week of May and Jennifer wants to go the first week of September. We'll be on the road for three to four weeks going to other states. When's the best time to see those states, Spring or Fall? I do plan on seeing the Badlands, Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills. What are the other must see spots and don't tell me it's Sturgis?
  4. Before I went on vacation I bought a set of replacement hoses from RockAuto. They don't cost that much. My original hoses, had just over 94,000mi on them and still looked good so the new hoses went under the back seat. Ran the truck over 4,000mi and 110hr pulling an 8,000lb 5th wheel, hoses still look good and had the peace of mind that the hoses were there if I needed them. I also put a new Timbos APP under there but what I really needed under the seat was a VP44.
  5. There are quite a few models of mirrors for sale at 1AAUTO. Which one did you get.
  6. Is the clunk in the suspension when going over bumps or when steering right to left-left to right. I'm asking this because a clunk when steering can come from the steering column bushing being worn.
  7. Saw this truck in front of the Post Office in downtown Riggins, ID when I was stuck there waiting for the vp44. Now I know why the town dog was chasing it.
  8. Are you running the oil from McDonald's deep fryer in your truck again?
  9. Sounds like you have 2 problems. 1. P0336 : crank shaft position sensor going bad or bad connection at the sensor causing the no start problem . 2. Starter sounding weak turns over slowly. Since you tested/replaced the batteries, they can be ruled out as the problem. Do a voltage drop test of the cable/terminals between the batteries, battery and starter and also the grounds. If they test O K then the starter motor has either bad contacts in the solenoid or a bad winding in the armature.
  10. That's why he drives a Powerstroke and you have a Cummins.
  11. What I've seen after servicing thousands of car over 45 years is you're wasting your money with a dino oil change done with less than 5,000 mi and the additive package that keep varnish and sludge from forming starts to brake down after 7,500 mi. I feel comfortable changing full synthetic oil at 7,500 to 10,000 miles.
  12. Have a good tow policy. I have the AAA premier 200 mile with RV policy so when my vp44 went out north of Riggins ID they came with a flat bed for the truck and a pick-up with a 5th wheel hitch for my trailer. This took about 2 hours. The cost of the policy is $200 a year ($16.66 a month) but I also use their DMV services, maps, travel service among other things they offer. It also helps to break down within a few miles of some one you know that can lend a hand in time of need.
  13. This is the way our trip has been. Some days a light haze and other days you can't see anything. These two pics were taken from the same spot at Lake Moraine, AB, Canada. The first facing the S S-E and the next is taken S-W. sent from north Yellowstone, MT
  14. Don't those buses come with a backup A/C system? sent from Banff, AB, Canada
  15. The wifi connection is spotty here, sometimes it's strong then a bird flies by and it's gone. I have the info and keeping track . The best to MoparMom. It's the stock pump from the factory. When I was getting ready for this trip I put a new spare tire on, a set of new spare hoses, a Timbos APP, ect and the only thing I was worried about was the VP44 and the ECM. I even thought about getting a VP44 to bringing along just incase . Well as the saying goes about hindsight.
  16. It was great getting together with JAG1, Mike and Mopar Mom. I'll be seeing Mike and Mopar Mom soon as the pump comes in and JAG1 in the Sierra Mountains this fall. Mike with Diesel The solar eclipse was Heaven sent. The best laid plans can go awry. I had planed to be in Glacier Park at this time but Somebody had other plans for me. Everything has worked out. With my AAA RV towing I had both my 5er and truck brought to the RV park Mike recommended and the owner said no problem fixing it here and Mike has been great with the his help. S0 right now this is the view out the front door of my RV. fuel pressure 18-19 psi WalMart best two-stroke at every fill up replace fuel filter every 10k AC noise .01v last checked truck has 94,400 mi must have been the eclipse
  17. http://www.monovillage.com/ It's the back side of Yosemite. I'll be there the second week in September to do some fishing before I go home.
  18. They are pet friendly. Here's their link. https://www.bing.com/search?q=catfish+junction+rv+park&form=EDNTHT&mkt=en-us&httpsmsn=1&refig=c8f19699de4f46aaf8534ae026fb1a28&sp=2&qs=SC&pq=catfish+juction&sk=SC1&sc=8-15&cvid=c8f19699de4f46aaf8534ae026fb1a28&cc=US&setlang=en-US If you make it up there don't worry about food, we'll throw another shrimp on the barbie or chicken on the grill.
  19. https://maps.google.com/?q=44.265205,-117.125417 They're booked up but if JAG1 gets Me78569's spot you could must likely tent up in his spot because his "rig is very short". I'm leaving tomorrow at noon, to beat the afternoon traffic in Riverside and San Bernardino, and take a slow three day drive up there. I have 6 pair of the good solar glasses with me and also the lens out of my wielding hood that I've used for other solar events. The lens works good in front of the camera.
  20. JAG1's rig with a local at the back bumper looking for a hand out.
  21. Jag might want it. I'll be there by the afternoon of the18th in space #7. There will be plenty of coffee to go around all week end and food to if you want. I'll also have a few pair of eclipse glasses on hand. This is my first stop in a month long vacation which will take my wife and I to Glacier National Park, Banff and Jasper Canada, along with a stop in the north part of Yellowstone, was there 2years ago for a week. The final stop will be the backside of Yosemite. As part of the trip planning I've mapped out all the Costco and WalMarts along my rout so I can restock as needed.
  22. This is what I have since 2005 with the boost elbow that comes with the Edge EZ less the RV275 injectors which I'll install when the original injectors go bad. You will most definitely will want to install the boost elbow to increase boost from stock ~18 PSI to ~28 PSI. The Edge EZ is $430 or $6.62/HP and I have a 6637 NAPA Gold air filter (BHAF) @ $39.48 from Amazon. With this set up I go up 6% + grades that are at 7k to 8k at 55 MPH with no problems. I just set the cruse control and go. This is what I tow but I now have a 14' boat. I'm towing about 9k pounds. 11" BHAF
  23. When I bought the Fuel Boss a roll of Parker series 7212 JIFFY PUSH-ON 3/8 hose came with it. It's good with bio-diesel up to B-20. It's been on the truck now for 4 years with no problems.
