Fuel pressure gauge losing pressure
I would put the 'T' after the filter just before the injection pump. That way you can tell what the vp is getting after the filter

Replaced my VP-44
Did your truck have any running problems with the 0216 code? I ask cause I cleared mine, trucks running good and the code has not come back.I have a vp on the bench but, my trucks running so good, I'm thinking about waiting.

Synthetic oil
My only experience was a jeep I was looking to buy. The guy used synth ever since new. All I could see was oil leaks all over the place and a very dirty 100,000 mile jeep engine. I'm not knockin' it but when I asked him to start it up it sounded like a million little hammers tapping away. I did not like it and walked away. Next day or so I found a very clean 85 k mile jeep that was like new and sounded like it too. It was a real cream puff on Dino oil, it sounded great. I don't really know anything about it except what I saw.

You think a Timbo APPS will correct this surging issue?
This forum's unwritten rule is there are no stupid questions. Most on this forum are always more than willing to help. My gauges were bought and installed by Source Automotive after making the mistake of having the dealer put in some inexpensive ones ( at first, I thought they were great). Source Auto is (503) 654 9004. Those guys are good to buy from, ship anywhere, and sell you all the right stuff. BTW, Vulcan Performance is very good also for gauges and other items. I give both my business often. my gauges with the cool blue background lighting are H.I.'s. They work great.

Sort of the same here. I bought two new Michelins that cracked inside of two years.

power steering and vacum pump
Dripley, when my truck had around 35,000 my power steering pump went wild squeekie. It was in some extreme cold. I used a turkey baster to change the fluid to premium Valvoline PS fluid and kept doing it after ea trip till it was clear. I could tell it was much better for the pump, steering was smoother.

Any Advantage To This?............
Sorry Mike it's my fault I didn't clarify. They were talking about putting the AIT in the air box or the tube connected between that and the turbo. Still a bad idea?

Any Advantage To This?............
I heard of a discussion from a guy that moved his AIT sensor to the intake tube. Any thoughts on doing that mod?

Help! In a tire quandry...
Man.... what brand are they? That's bad.If you can get the heavier load rated and this ever happens again you could maybe make it the 90 miles running slower on one wheel ea. side. You said you have someone bringing you some tires and rims for temporary was he a guy that just happen to pull in the rest stop?Dang it I wish I could help...

Help! In a tire quandry...
Like the tittle on your post..... 'ENTIRE QUANDARY'. Sorry about your problem tires. Are you close enough to a tire shop where you can make it in on the shreds? Do you have two blocks of wood to support the trailer while you take just the rims in? How you gonna' do that? Wish I was close to help.

VP44 HELP in Nicholasville/LEX KY Area
I have been watching the videos on this. Seems real easy if you remember a few simple steps.I'm more worried about the long trip down to Yosemite on the old VP, but, the 216 code refuses to come back and the truck runs great.

Wood Stove Installed!!!!!
My electric bill is about $120-150 with the wood stove going all the time or when I can load it up.... morning and early evening.Bill would normally be about $200-250. I have the furnace shut off and once the log house is warmed up it stays warm for a long time after the stove goes out. I live on the west side of the Cascades which helps but the I-5 corridor is going wacko nuts with traffic. Glad I'm in the Cascade foothills anyway.I have 3 cords cut and split which is enough for this winter.

VP44 HELP in Nicholasville/LEX KY Area
Is it really easy????????? I'm sorta chicken, but, love the sense of accomplishment when done. What special tools do I need.... I have the new rebuilt sitting on the bench right now from midwest fuel injection.

Mopar1973Man needs some help...
I am no person to be suggesting anything about this problem. A thought I'm carrying lately might of be some remote help...... is about the degree of sensitivity of the sensors in the truck. They operate on a lower, smaller voltage range. So I'm wondering if some problems are so hard to diagnose because of a problem existing entirely somewhere else in the electrical system. Not just grounds like we always mention, but even the plus side? Just don't really know here but, reading about a guy who had the trans hunting issue unplugged his lift pump while the truck was idling. Plugged it back in and found the hunting went away for a short time. This led him to find the bad connection inside the lift pump plug. Once the plug was eliminated, wires soldered, the problem went away. Could it be that even a small erratic voltage coming entirely from another area, causing voltage spikes and erratic loads, be affecting these sensors? And therefore the whole dynamics of the truck running correctly??????????

tires
My buddy has a set on his truck. He said the problem is that they last so long that age starts to get the tire (cracks) not the wear. Also sometimes they very squirrley till the new tires get broke in. The good is the increased weight capacity. I have done so much tossing money at things, at 55 I finally realized the sensible thing is always best

fuel canister
I've thought about a support brace that slides inside the existing brace like a sleeved support. Slide out of the way when you want access or slide it back across the cut inside the other side. It would need to fit well for strength, but how to get it in there and be long enough:think: Crazy thoughts.... I'm just looking for something to do.

fuel canister
I at looked doing that. The problem is one of the bed cross over supports goes right over the module. You would need to find a way to reinforce the bed where you cut the frame. The passenger side looks to be strong enough with the extra brace already there but, the passenger side, have to figure something out. With the bed floor being that it's corrugated (high / low ribs) you could cut the opening a little smaller on the lower ribs spots to leave a longer tab underneath to hold the diamond plate. That way there's a lip to screw to and not let it fall thru. The higher ribs of the corrugation could be cut the size of the cover plate so it fits good. Some zig zag cuts and sharp edges when getting your hands in there. Probly better to just add something to hold the door in there otherwise

Road Trip
Weekdays would be better after school gets started again. After Labor day before the snows, probably before you get too far into the middle of October.

fuel canister
I've thought of doing this many times too. Please report if it's possible to do. - - - Updated - - - Don't you wish they made a lift up door in the bottom of the bed for access to the top of the tank? Sheesh.... why hasn't someone come that? Could be diamond plate or something.

Armored Truck Pulls up........
Was at a stoplight the other day and an armored truck pulls up along side. A longer than usual red light, I notice a guard sitting in back of the truck next to side window. We exchanged a few glances so I rub two fingers together, giving the sign for big money. We smiled. Then he waits for the green light and just before taking off, gives another big smile and shows me this 3 foot long double stacked clear plastic bag full of new bills. I smile back in a state of shock:lol:. Couldn't believe what I just saw.....Wouldn't that be a nice truck?

I'm Torn, Wonderin' If I should change out the VP.........
Thanks to all you guys. Looks like I've bought a new rebuilt pump sense it came in yesterday to Vulcan Performance. It came from Midwest fuel injection for $1089 w/ new electronics. They rebuild their own pumps there and only the housings are rebuilt at Bosch. Midwest said they do 3,000 pumps a year with a very low, low failure rate . BTW, My oem VP gets the 2 cycle, every tank, since 30,000 miles when bought, with f/p on 14 all the time, till I got an AD a few months ago and run 17.5 p.s.i..A buddy of mine says go for a long test run to see if the code comes back. Will keep you posted.

I'm Torn, Wonderin' If I should change out the VP.........
My trouble is I don't want to see what happens down in the middle of Yosemite National Park . Only because of the longer driving distances with this truck, I don't really know what to do. . Yes money is tight too.
