  1. Theres not a whole lot of ground theyve got to be standing on with an engine that new.... You would literally have to do something stupid like run it out of oil or something similar to trash a new engine... anything other than that is obviously an engine defect. This isnt a Jasper reman by chance is it?
  2. Hes probably too busy going on all expenses paid ski trips paid for by contractors competing for the next addition on his half million dollar home with money that hes embezelled from yours truly :lmao:Yeah it sounds a little far fetched but something similar recently happened with some of Clevelands finest politicians :mad:I just dont trust any of em, regardless of the front they put on
  3. The 64 thousand dollar question is, was that truly from the senator or simply from one of his publicists? My guess is the latter, but I guess its the thought (sort of) that counts. Probably a very general response that they will send out more than once to a concerned citizen....
  4. Is this your deer? If you dont mind me asking when and where this was taken? Ive seen some big bucks around here but that thing is a monstor! Looking at the picture again, I think this was actually taken last year. It was the guys first ever kill if I remember right. Correct me if Im wrong, not trying to steal anybodys thunder
  5. ^^^ Good advice^^^^^Low batteries, bad grounds, hopefully you will get lucky and find something simple. Let us know what codes if any you pull up. Is your truck not starting at all now?
  6. I couldnt get past the first few pages, but many of them were claiming it was a gasser. I dont think any of them knew the people in the video, but I didnt read through the whole thread. Lots of big macho claims of manhood and even more vulgarity, I was starting to feel like I didnt belong there and had to leave
  7. I see 17 pages of ignorance Id have to say thats not the brightest of crouds over there
  8. You would be surprised how much people can let their ego get the better of them especially if theyve been drinking. I was at a big wedding party several years ago. The reception/party was held in an emptied out equipment shop and everybody was parking in the field next to it. Two guys were parked right next to each other, one ina brand new ranger and the other in a brand new tacoma. Both of these trucks still had 30 day tags from the dealer. Well as the night progressed the guy with the ranger kept getting drunker and the drunker he got the more belligerent he got. Kept antagonizing the guy in the tacoma, telling him he bought a japanese pos, calling it every name in the book. Kept taunting him to "hook em up". The guy with the tacoma ignored it for a few hours, he wasnt even drinking so he had alot more sense in him. Eventually he broke, and next thing you know theyre out in the field backing up to each other. Hooked up about a 20 foot chain, tightened up on each other, and away they went. It didnt take but a few seconds and the tacoma with the posi started making way. Drug the idiot in the ranger around in a big circle and was making his way from the field to the big clearing where there was a bonfire. He was still turning in a big sweep when they passed a row of pines. The tacoma cleared them, ranger didnt. He caugt the tree right in the driverside taillight and went right down the side of the truck. Completely smashed the fiberglass fender (stepside bed), tailgate, blew the window out of the side of the extended cab door, and crinkled both doors. The only panel that went untouched was the front fender. Needless to say, the guy inthe ranger came out swinging. He didnt stand much of a chance as drunk as he was and the guy in the tacoma was sober, and mr ranger got his nose broke in the squabble. I cant even imagine how he ever explained it to his insurance company, but I would bet he learned his lesson.
  9. Ive used that computer duster stuff in an aerosol can (sorry I dont know the correct name) it is safe for electronics and is pressurized. Works very well to blow the dust out...What truck did this happen to? I actually upped my insurance 2 years ago for this very same reason. My wife had taken my truck to move a couch for her sister, was sitting at an intersection at a stop sign and some bafoon plowed into her from behind ina little car. Luckily, I had my trailer hooked up the day before and I still had my ball in the receiver. That was what he hit and it destroyed the front end of the car and punctured his radiator. The guy obviously wasnt insured, or maybe he had something else to hide, and backed up and drove right around the wife through the intersection almost causing a big wreck. Luckily there was no damage to the truck but it got me to thinking what would happen if it did....Its a shame we are forced to prepare for other peoples ignorance and lack of responsibility...
  10. If you listen closely right after they tighten the chain, it definitely sounded like a gasser. My guess is niether of these kids own either truck, probably got rich daddys who dont spend enough time with them and compensate by letting them take their trucks out for the night.
  11. The big difference between other school shootings and the one last week is that the shooter is almost always a student at the school. So for one reason or another they had personal feelings or motives to walk in and committ a horrible crime. Not an excuse, but in their minds a reason. Now look at the nut job from last week. He legally was an adult and he walked into a school full of babies. Not one of those kids (or teachers) for that matter could possibly have done something to him to upset him enough to carry out such a disgusting crime. I think this really highlights the mental instabilities that alot of people are growing up with. Whats causing it? Drugs? Lack of family involvement? No discipline? I dont know the answer, its probably different for everyone. But I truly believe it all starts at a young age and largely has something to do with the way a person is raised. A persons most influential years are its adolescent years. Once the mold has been made (good or bad) its very hard to break it. Morales, traditions, discipline, and responsibility are words that young kids are not very familiar with these days. Ive got a 7 and a 9 yr old and everytime I go to a school function this is very evident.
  12. 2 and a half inch long gold nuggets at 1500 an ounce That would be a sight!
  13. Sometimes they can be tough to prime. I would put 12 volts to your raptor and stick the suction in a bucket of fuel and see if it pumps. Should be a good steady flow.
  14. Americas got way too much time on their hands, point blank. Weve become probably the laziest country in the world, and its all happened inthe last few decades. Now some of us no doubt have to get up everyday and find a way to support ourselves, put food on our table, a roof over our heads, and clothes on our backs. But were fast becoming a minority. More and more people are coming to expect handouts from the government. Food stamps, welfare checks, free insurance. All they have to do is sit at home and reap the benefits. Its people like this that have way too much time ontheir hands. My father always said "idle hands are the devils playground" and the older I get the more and more I see it. These people have nothing useful or important to do with their day so they eventually get in trouble. Doing drugs, drinking, stealing, joining gangs, making more babies they cant afford to raise, whatever the case may be. I say take all this sh*t away from them and let them fend for themselves. If everybody had to find a way to support themselves, there would be alot less crime. Yesterdays events hit home for the wife and I, weve got a 7 and a 9 year old. Dont know what I would ever do without them.
  15. Subscribed. Ive been thinking about doing this as well, or maybe adding some fog lights, something to increase visability at night. My high beams are satisfactory, low beams are miserable.
  16. I used to run a 337 long arm and a 442zts quite a bit. Bobcat makes pretty good machines, one of the last manufactures still "Made in the USA".
  17. At my former job we had an older than dirt peanut crane thie infamous "neck breakers" with a 2 cycle detroit. It was used in the yard for loading steel, pipe, or whatever else we needed it for. One day while running it it took off on me. I was in the process of standing up a 30'x12' steel form used for pouring concrete precast panels for buildings. it had a knife gate in the intake as they were pretty notorious for running away. I jumped out and slammed it shut and it bogged the engine down and eventually died out. But this left me with a form hanging on the hook in mid air. I was way over my head to begin with the form was way over the capacity of the peanut. But we were under the gun and had to be loaded on the truck and headed for the jobsite. So i fired it back up and had one of the guys shut the knife gate until it would run just enough to get the hydraulic pump to build enough pressure to finish lifting the panel. Backed the truck up under the panel and layed the form back down, all with the knife gate over 3/4 of the way shut. It was definitely a 10 on the pucker factor:sick:
  18. Wow thats one way to fix it I suppose... what happens when this one gives you problems
  19. Hey Rogan, does the 12 valve have any kind of "rev limiter" to speak of or does it have a max fuel rate in the ip? I bet that minute or so it took you to get pulled over, air filter off, and the intake plugged up she was soundin like a stock car coming out of turn 4 at talledega! Got me thinkin about stashing a screwdriver in my engine compartment somewhere "just in case"!
  20. If your map was bad you would have some driveability issues, along with a cel. What is your truck doing thats causing you problems?
  21. Does it make any kind of a difference whether your truck is warm or cold? Make sure youve got good batteries weak batteries will play hell on these trucks although it doesnt sound like your problem is frequent enough to be battery related. Unfortunately it does sound like a fuel problem and if youve got good lift pump pressure that only leaves the vp to be suspect.
  22. Hey John, is that bobcat a 331 by chance? It may feel like its going to tip, but trust me theyre much more stable than you would think. You can even swing over to the side and track on/off the trailer to make it easier to see where your going.
  23. Best thing to do is get the info from Autozone. If the guy you talked to was clueless I would be asking his manager. I dont know what theyre charging you, but I would certainly want to know what kind of work they are doing. Are they repairing your ecm? Or did you have to turn yours in for a core and are receiving a refurbished ecm inreturn? Will you have to take it to a dealer and have it flashed when you get it back or are they taking care of that for you? I went through this issue a while back with my truck and I opted for a new ecm. Im sure lots of people have had good luck with used rebuilt ones, but the thought of it kind of scared me. Theres just too many unknowns. I kind of related it to purchasing a vp with a used computer. Sure it may pass a bench test, but how long is it good for? Its already 12 to 15 years old, who knows when a connection may come apart inside or a board burn up? Sure they say its refurbished, I just dont know exactly what that means. If I stayed local with my truck, I may have thought differently. But I take several long distance road trips a year and for peace of mind I decided the extra money was worth shelling out for a new one.
  24. The scrap yards never used to care about a title until scrap prices went through the roof a few years ago. People were "aquiring " vehicles that didnt belong to them and hauling them off to the smasher before they could be caught. So they changed the laws (in the state of ohio) anything that had an engine running or not you had to have a title with proof of ownership. If it didnt have an engine it was still fair game. Auto junk yards have always required titles around here as well but Ive never taken a car to them they dont give anywhere near the money a scrap yard will.
