Life’s little surprises have put a near end to building the truck I want! Lol I’ve decided to put all upgrades on hold for now. Going to drive my truck stock for a while until I can afford to do what I want! I’m forced to sell my current tuner because I have some bills too pay and it sucks! I m planning to hopefully do some 50 hp sticks yo help with a little power and fuel economy are these the right size for max mpg? If possible I’d like to do @Mopar1973Man light upgrade so I can see the darn road lol . I’m sure y’all have been down this road too?

For the second time in three years I believe my ECU is headed south. A few weeks ago the truck didn't want to start. I checked the grid heater and had more than the recommended resistance between the terminals. I had power to the relays with the wait to start light just no power coming out. Fusible links are good. Now the problem as I understand it is I have 12 volts to the relays with the wait to start light on. When the wait light goes out, I should have zero volts to the relays. I have seven. If I have more than zero it sould be the ECU according to the service manual. I now have IAT sensor voltage codes, fuel calibration error codes, etc. Now the million dol…

EGT gauge is back up and running, however, the probe is after the turbo. In my previous trucks I have been in the exhaust manifold, and 1200* was the peak I ever wanted to see.. My question is, because I can't move the probe before towing this week/weekend. What temp would you guys say is a conservative number to stay at or below? Thank you

Hey guys, My son has a 2001 Ram 2500 and the two lines (trans. lines) that come off the bottom seep/leak consistently. I had the idea of just removing it altogether but wanted to see what everyone's opinion is. He does not haul anything and just drives it to and from work. My idea was to just plug the two bottom ports (trans. ports) with NPT fittings and take the line from the front of the transmission to the transmission cooler. The output of the transmission cooler to the rear port on the transmission. Seems to be the easiest route and not having to mess with the coolant lines from the Heat Exchanger. He has new flexible AN lines, but just…

  9. Anyone ever removed the inner sections of the motor mount? I'm going to be replacing them with the poly inserts from Genos or from polybushings.com I have engine out and mounts off of engine. I assume they are just pressed in, and I need to press out?

  10. Hi Folks. I am looking for some direction with my no bus issue. I did a cab swap on my 02 2500 4x4 24 valve automatic trans. I just bought the truck and did notice the fuel gauge was acting up before hand but didnt notice anything else but then again I bought it as a project and got right to work. After I got it back together, I would get a few gauges acting up and every 3rd or 4th keystart, I would get a no bus message. Here is what I have now pretty much with every keystart - No Bus message, Alternator not charging, None of the gauges are working, Starts off in 2nd gear - Limp Mode?, no communication with code readers, O/D off selector not working, dash warning lights…

I recently had installed a South Bend DD clutch (sdd3250) and replaced the hydraulics with south bend as well. My question is what is the correct "Clutch Pedal adjustment", should this be set such that the clutch behaves a certain way (aside from engage/disengage ok). or just set pedal height to one's desired comfort level or maybe it's none of the above and I missed something lol. Right now the clutch pedal is about 1" above brake pedal. If you have a double disk clutch, would you mind sharing with me how different the truck drove after the install. I went from a stock clutch with worn out south bend hydraulics to double disk. Thanks in advance,Tony

  13. So picked up the engine for my truck today. Im not really sure what I ended up with. I cant find a 53 anywhere so I hope that is a good sign. The block in my truck has a big 53 on the drivers side lower front of the block. This block has a series of numbers. The tag says it was built 3/3/98 and is rated at 235hp. My tag says 215hp. This engine must have had a manual behind it? My plan is to swap most of the parts from my engine to this engine so I hope I dont have any problems. --- Update to the previous post... Oops. I put this in the wrong section. This is meant for the 24valve section. Sorry.

I've read Dynamic's posts about not using Alto Red frictions and steels, so what else do I need to know? I'll be doing it myself (with the assistance of a Chrysler master transmission tech) in a nice, clean, air-conditioned garage, and I'll be pressure-washing the underside of the truck and the transmission case once it's out. Problems currently are no 1-2 shift unless I lift completely off the throttle, and a leaky rear seal. The kickdown lever is broken, which allows the 2nd gear band to float free above the drum. 2-3 and 3-4 are essentially normal shifts. I've already got an FTI single-disc converter and a Suncoast billet governor solenoid plate and oversized/…

  15. Good day everyone, Wanted to discuss with you guys alternative methods before a complete engine torn down. In a nutshell, I have been dealing with an abnormal oil consumption since I purchased the truck with 80K. I’m considering using the Valvoline Premium Blue Restore oil treatment as a final solution before parking out the truck for rebuild. I have my doubts about this oil, though it was designed for ISX Cummins engines to fix some of their new engine oil rings carbon buildup and is 10w30 viscosity. Please advice if you have used this product. I cannot think of anything else other than stuck oil control rings resulting in adding 1qt-2qt of oil every 1K. Truck doesn…

So bought a kit and tore into. Just to see. I did file a thing yeah a thing. And enlarged ports one size up. Was cool seeing it and seeing what had been done already. A few drill bits bumped up file the thingy. Got the TV throttle stop on the wrong side of the stop bolt. Luckily backing the bolt out allowed the arm to go by. I pulled clip on park rod. Went back together pretty quick. Sitting here thinking on it. I've adjusted band per transgo directions snug it with short wrench and back out 2. Pretty sure it went back to where it was. I love pressure screw were I had it. I was just shy of 150psi at wot before I dou…

I was having an intermittent problem where the truck ran great for the first 15 min then after that I was having problems. It was acting like it wont spool up, ill hit the pedal and it will be around 10 psi of boost and will just sit maintaining speed for awhile until the RPM's hit around 2k where the turbo lights then takes off. Tried resetting my APPS. I have no codes on my scanner or check engine light. I have about 17psi fuel pressure and doesn't drop much at wot maybe to 15psi. I had a boost leak and fixed it then the truck ran perfectly for about 4 days. I was still skeptical if that was it and unfortunately i was right. The last two days it has ca…

Changed fuel filter cracked line bled system tightened line started truck fuel pressure came up then 3 seconds later it went to zero shut truck off. Checked for air lock then voltage and founds 2 volts output from ECM called air dog they instructed me to wire to 12v switched and this is common. Tried that all issues resolved for now.... Had to leave for a trip so I decided to run it hooked as such truck performed as expected that was a week ago. My issue is this does that mean the ECM is failing is there a way to find out I have never had one sign of ECM issues until now Second is I often use the trucks radio when parked in ACC. and the fuel pump continues to…

All new Mechanical gauge, big line kit, Draw straw, just tried second brand new Raptor 150 and fuel pressure goes up with acceleration and rpms. I adjusted to 18 psi but the dang pressure drops back and forth between 18 and 15 at idle..... you can time it with a watch, back and forth. Then when you rev it the pressure goes up way too high. Grid heaters are disconnected and I checked with a volt meter for voltage fluctuation but it's charging steadily when engine is running I switched to a different new raptor 150 today thinking it was the pump regulator... weird... because after you adjusted it to the 18 you get going down the road and the dang pr…

  20. OK I posted this on CF. Thanks Mike for the tip on the Overflow valve. I just finished reading your testing on it and then rechecked to see you mention that lol. Quote is what I posted over there: I did some testing according to the bluechip diesel VP44 diag page and came up with it being a fuel delivery problem. Like I said I only installed a DSV replaced the supply line to the filter, cleaned the prefilter and replaced the walbro with another one, and redid the regulator. The fuel lines used to weep fuel and would drip ocasionally. It no longer leaks but now the hard starting. Used to fire up right away. Not sure if its in the tank, or the new line or? I h…
