What's everyone one using for a map sensor? My stock one maxes out at 40psi. I'm suspect that I'm making more boost than 40. I have the quadzilla BT gauges and dont want to run manual gauge.

Just curious as how you all use your block heater. I am of the mind set that the more you use something the faster it will wear out so I try not to over use things if not needed. So that leads to: Is it better to leave it plugged in all night or possibly for a day or two at a time or would it be best to just plug in an hour or so before you fire it up? Any advantage to either practice? This morning the outside temp is 9° so I figured on plugging in an hour before start up today just to aid in warm up and easy cranking. It should start fine without it but I know it will be easier on the engine with a little heat in there.

I had my truck parked recently and someone jammed a rag up my blow by tube. I didn’t notice, when I got home the truck was leaking oil pretty hard and I crawled under and noticed the rag. Wondering which seal you guys figure the pressure would’ve pushed. Haven’t had time to check but looks like it’s coming from the drivers side of the engine.

Its supposed to get down to 0 here in Tx. Will two stroke keep it from gelling?

What’s going on guys? So as per my last topic the vp44 was my issue for whatever reason my edge wasn’t allowing my ecu to throw any dtc after figuring that out I found the p1628 or whatever the vp death code is can’t remember off the top of my head. Alright, replaced the pump with a reman vp44 from xdp and new fuel filters. Got the truck primed and she took off. Ran for about a day or so and then boom no fuel to the injectors again. Even though I do not like doing it I tried anyways I gave it a breath of ether and cracked the injector lines and still no fuel. Okay fine play hard. Towed the truck home and figured I’d call xdp and ask for my warranty (mind you this pump is…

In my down time lately I've been reading alot about injectors for the VP44 24 valve. Trying to learn and read reviews check prices and the like. I have looked through DAP and some others. Some look kind of "shady" or maybe that isn't the term but for whatever reason I didn't trust what they were saying. One on the other hand one seems to make some sense, Dynamite Diesel. All I know about this company is what I saw and read on their site and reviews of their products. I was just wondering if anyone has used their injectors? I did notice however that their prices are nearly double compared to DAP so I'm also curious as to whether or not it's worth it. .I'm not t…

27.641 Gallons after hauling a car back on a trailer from Boise, ID did 14.76 MPG. Still solid fuel pressure and no issues, no pressure dropping while driving. Remember this is for old school DrawStraw users and not in the sender straws. Lets see how low you guys can go with your old school straws.

I just found a HX35g turbo for sale cheap. I was damaged in storage with zero miles. I cant find it anywhere so I cant check the specs and from what I have found it is water cooled and was a gas application. Only the cold side outlet is damaged and was wondering if I might be able to just use the center section as a replacement for myHX35W when it goes.

I've been really busy working on my 01 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins 4x4. Friday night after work - pull the HVAC box out and replace the heater and evaporator cores. The heater core was the original brass one from the factory, but it was plugged internally. The previous owner just installed a new radiator and I just replaced the water pump about 3 weeks ago. Vacuumed down the A/C system last night, and then recharged it with freon. Yesterday - changed engine oil and filter, install PCM protection mod with soldering in an inline fuse and using a 5A fuse, modify the charging system with the W-T ground mod, install a …

This may be a little off the wall but you don't know til ya ask. I have a filter head from a log splitter, would I be able to utilize this as a pre lift pump filter if I can locate a filter of suitable micron rating? Has anyone tried this? What were your results? I'm just curious at this point. I would like to revamp my fuel system over the summer and add gauges as well so kinda planning things in my head since I'm sitting home bored. Lol. Thanks for any input.

  11. Currently I have a mostly stock 2001 Dodge 2500 with an auto tranny (sadly). It has stock injectors (probably original) and a rebuilt hy35 turbo and 5 inch straight pipe exhaust. No stud, no major mods. Have a quadzilla tuner and running a pretty mild tune off it and im trying to go for lower egts. Eventually id like to make 350ish HP and thats about it. It tows regularly 3k to 14k constantly and and does pretty decent at it... Until egts start getting around 1200F. Im trying to find a common Proven setup that works for this application. I do plan on putting an exhaust brake on it at some point and would like to try to steer away from having 2 tur…

Hi there, First time posting, but i have been reading posts for a while now, really appreciate all the help this forum has given me in doing a 1998.5, 5 speed, 24V Cummins swap into my 1976 Chevy 3/4 ton. I am now working on the building a fuel tank, I'm halfway done building it. I just was about to drill holes, and I've run into a question i have on where I'm going to run the return line from the VP44, and also from the Fass 95g lift pump i have installed. This picture represents where I would like my fuel tank to be, its 65" wide, 32" tall, and 6" deep I have scrapped the idea of using the factory Chevy saddle tanks, as i want und…

  13. Greetings. New to Forum. New to Cummin's Mods. Would appreciate any help/advice I can get. Patient: Mostly stock 2000, 3500, 4wd, Auto, Raptor f.p, VP44 i.p. Stock breather on timing cover, no breather on tappet cover. 325K but seams to run good, no appreciable smoke. Used 99% highway driving with lots of 5th wheel and trailer hauling. Illness: Massive oil leak from bottom of factory tappet cover. Engine and sub frame coated with so much oil from leaking tappet cover, it is hard to tell if hose from stock breather is dripping much oil or if anything else is leaking. Proposed Treatment: Replacement of tappet cover with billet tappet cover which …

I don’t have voltage at C3 Pin25 on the pcm so there’s no charging or O/D. How does the pcm know to provide voltage to that pin? Does it use the engine speed signal at C1 Pin 8? If I check it and have the correct frequency and voltage but still no voltage at the blue wire can I use an ignition hot on that to make things work correctly? Will I still have the modulating ground signal on the gen field wire if there’s no 12v on the blue? If I use an ignition hot to power the trans relay will the pcm still activate the o/d solenoid?

Any help appreciated. 1999 24v air dog lift, timbo apps, edge comp box. Start the engine and it runs up to full throttle without pushing the pedal. Is this an ECM issue? No codes thrown, thottle cable intact. I'm at a loss here.

Two days ago my CHECK GAGES light came on and the volt gauge sunk to 8V. My USB plug showed 11.9 Volts yup it died. I got a new alternator and a day later it did it again. No error codes either. I checked my PCM protection fuse and sure enough the fuse fell out of the cover. I took a pair of pilers and squeezed the sockets closed again and it fixed. My alternator I've got now is a Bosch not a ND. Yeah make sure to check your fuse holder and be sure its not loose. It weird because mine is taped to the loom and not floppy around.

Hey guys I've got a weird issue. The map sensor randomly goes out or how ever you'd put it, like I can start my truck and quad adr boost says 47psi, I can kill the truck and start it again in 5 mins and sometimes it'll fix its self other times I'm just stuck driving with a rough diesel guzzling gold painted turd. Can ANYONE point me in the direction of where to start?

  18. Is there anyone in Tucson that could maybe stop by, I need some assistance. I really need my truck working. I have a 2002 Ram 3500. Didn't seem like it was getting power to the ecm. Did all the grounding mods and that fixed the problem. Went to start the other day WTS light came on and then shut off a couple of times then went off for good. Now it's the same problem.

Help from the wizards please. I have a coolant leak dripping from the back of the head running down the bell housing. I stuck a small mirror back there and I see a sensor bubbling around the ceramic center. I tried to identify the sensor in the service manual, no joy. This sensor is screwed onto the head, water jacket at the aft end of the head between the head and firewall, thanks!!!

I feel special today for having a reason to post in the 24V section, but I digress. Friend bought a 01 2500 2wd auto and it has about 310k on it. The injection pump and injectors had been replaced just before they bought it. $3000 and had a "bottom end knock" which turned out to be a cracked flex plate. So, the fuel pump went out on him and he replaced the in tank unit and the block mounted pump. Ran fine for several days and then it stutters and dies. He bleeds up to the injection pump and it fires off. Makes it about 3 blocks and does the same. Won't fire back up. (He is one of the duller knifes in the drawer but learns his lesson. Hard to get a…
