I have noticed the last few days that my truck just skips 4th gear unlocked and goes straight to 4th gear lockup. Shift great and doesn't slip. Just wondering if this is normal. Soon as it goes from 3rd locked it shift to 4th locked with maybe 2 seconds of 4th unlocked. If it's in 4th locked and get on it or pull a hill it drops to 3rd locked, not 4th unlocked. Normal for everyone else or naw?

On the 24v that I am building it has a KDP and I was planning on making a little tab to keep that pin in its place, but I was wondering if you had to cut some of the case out to to put the tab in and screw the bolt back in flush or if there was a way to do it without cutting any of the case out. Flywheel question: the flywheel that came off said motor has hot spots on it it appears, being darker blotches here and there. So should I just put that one on there or should I put my old one on that's a little bumpy on the surface where the clutch is applied? Its not terrible by any means but its there. I've heard to not reuse a flywheel that has hotspots but I didn'…

Well hello all, I don't know where to even start..... So this is a customer of ours and it was originally brought to us for no power. 1999 2500 5.9 stock. So.... Originally the truck only had throttle to 1,400 RPMS, Code was 1689, After serious going through, I diaged the ECM to be no good, Also the VP44 was bad too, Replaced VP44 and sent ECM to Auto computer performance to Andrew to repair, He was told the 1689 code and he also asked about the infamous wait to start light problem, Yes that was there too. He sent it back to me and the wait to start was repaired but still had 1689 and only 1,400 rpm. Sent it south again and he said he was pretty sure it was fixed th…

I have always gotten a random P0121 code usually I clear it and it comes back in a couple of months. But this time I caught it in action with my quad. When the dead pedal happens the quad show the throttle 100% open and stays that way till I push the throttle a couple of times. Has anyone else had this issue? Also I need to do the W-T grounding mod. Hopefully on my days off coming up soon. My fuel pressure is 15-16psi, checked for AC voltage 3 months ago and it was good (Will do it again before and after the grounding mod), and this has happened in hot and cold weather, short or long drives.

So to save some time I did install the rear main first ***the first time*** but due to some dunce from Oklahoma, the rear main housing had a hole that was stripped, so obviously I had to replace it. At this point I had already installed the oil pan so I tried to reinstall another rear main housing without messing up the oil pan and what do you know, the gasket slipped inside of the pan and now the pan won't come off. Instead of using RTV on the pan I used this Permatex spray gasket and it seals pretty well apparently! Any tips on how to remove it without damaging the gasket or anything? I'll leave some pics of what the oil pan gasket looks like under the rear main. If I c…

Finally got around to putting my Mag-hytek cover on my dana 80. It stays cooler longer with the added 1 gallon of fluid in there. It cools down way faster than with the stock cooler. I went with Red Line 75w90 a quick $150 just to put a cover on lol. Here is a pic after a 100 mile drive on pretty flat freeway.

I had all Chevy wiring stripped and tied everything into the dodge fuse panel. Now I just have to customize my dash to get dodge cluster in there. And put my rear bumper on. 208B7267-28B4-44D2-8B65-FA39AD1F0142.MOV

I know its been asked so forgive me, but I have done the Moparman mod and before I took my truck to the body shop I got maybe one drip of oil from the tube after 4 months with the mod. However after I got my truck back it drips after every trip. Just a small drop. I did the blow by test and it Is perfect. Is this normal or something I need to look into? Thanks guys!

Just wondering how many people have done Mikes crankcase vent. I knew about the vent problem and his inexpensive repair but put it off until my radiator looked like this; So I cleaned my radiator, intercooler, engine...and added Mikes upgrade and haven't had a problem since. Also, my truck doesn't smell like oil after an oil change like it used to.

Wanting to get away from oil filters, looking at Donaldson #B105006, since there is a distributor close to me, I think they also carry Balwin Filters, just don't have the # in front of me. Any opinions?

I have read here about the ground above the atarter for the ecm. will running a new ground from the battery to the ecm serve the same purpose or does the ground above the starter serve a greater purpose than just the ecm?

You are never going to believe it, the vp44 CAN be "rebuilt" in your shop/garage/lean-to!! Since my pump went out I have been feverishly searching for a cheap fix or the at least the cheapest rebuild I could possibly find……how does about $40.00 sound?!?! I have researched this in depth and found the common problems that cause vp44 failure, most of them are manufacturing process related (burrs left on metal components, pump case wearing through due to lack of lubrication, and parts seizing due to improper lubrication) Once the components have worn down they seize and of course the pump stops working, the less common failure is the electrical pack solders become weak and lo…

I been driving my brothers 99 truck for work. Started it up today and let it run for just a minute while I got situated in the truck. Then it just cut off like it ran out of fuel. White smoke from the tail pipe. I tried to start it backup. White smoke no start. Now no smoke and no start at all where should I start?

First forum post, hey y'all! So I'm looking into getting a new tuner for my Cummins, but it's quite the jungle out there, I've come to find. I see the guys over at PowerDriven Diesel use the Quadzilla Adrenaline tuners, and I kinda trust that lot with all the R&D they put in these engines, but would it be the right tuner for me, is the question? I'm not looking for a tuner that'll supply me with a million horsepower and enough torque to rotate the earth backwards if I launch it too hard in 4WD, but something that'll add around 100-150hp. Having that said, I already have a Smarty S03, and I read elsewhere on this forum that it fuels weirdly, requ…

So I'll start off by saying that I should have been more diligent on axle oil changes (once a year if towing/hauling heavy like most of us do)and that's likely what landed me in this position. That being said I didn't find anywhere on this site, articles about diagnosing, repairing or just general info. So at this point I have a chattering rear end but only on tight corners loaded or backing trailers, I tried the simple things new fluid new limited slip addative, to which I didn't gain much. Now my questions are: How much time do I have left before this thing grenades I only need two-three weeks. Rebuild the power-lok and if so what would be a rec…

Where to even begin.... I've had my iQuad Adrenaline for only 2 months now and I'm fed up with it. This whole ordeal started at installation of the ignition wire. The little hook thing that you're suppose to hook onto the prong of the #9 fuse never worked for me, still doesn't, it doesn't allow the fuse to properly be seated into its spot and easily falls out. So from there I did the best I could and I placed it between the prongs since it fits pretty well between them and it worked and allowed the fuse to sit in its spot nicely. Fast forward to a week ago, driving home, feels like I was working against something since it was a windy day cause it was like big gusts of win…

Posted in 2nd Generation Dodge 24 Valve Powertrain Hello all ! Recently the p0122 came on my 99 cummins, with severe driveability issues, when the throttle is pressed it revs up then dead peddles, revs up then dead peddles. I found Moparmans P0122 test and was working down the list, got to step #6 and I'm confused now if I need a ECMor an APPS. The step is as follows "6. Check Dark Blue/ White wire for continuity between terminal no. 5 on apps harness and terminal No. 31 on ECMharness connector . If continuity does not exsist, repair Dark Blue/White wire" if…

Hi I have a strange problem that I have noticed since installing my quadzilla. Since installing my quad I have noticed my TC lock up is lazy and doesn't lock up really unless I'm climbing a grade and pushing the pedal a bit harder. Or I'm wide open in OD it will lock up.. Turn the quad off I get 'normal' lock up in 3rd and OD. Anyone else come into this issue before? Best way to over come? Mystery switches are they worth it? I don't tow I just use this truck for fun it gets used a couple of times a week. I have a bullet input, triple disc modified OD with more clutches etc (firepunk comp 2 rebuild kit without the billet int…

So I have a 99 24 valve Cummins with 7x14 injectors, bigger-ish turbo, delivery tubes, and lift pump and no tuner on it. When I shift into any gear when the truck is warm it feels like the truck either has to much load on it or tries to overcompensate and it just stalls out. The Tranny is stock. Was told it has billet converter but I’m not positive. It only does this after the truck has been running at operating temp. First start up in morning it shifts fine no issues. Any ideas???
