So I’m looking to sell my truck. I found another 01 with only 168,000 miles. So what I’m asking is how do you price a high mileage truck like this? It runs great and has no issues. 316,000 miles tho. Overhauled transmission at about 270,000 raptor 150 s&b cold air intake edge ez

I pulled an 18 foot trailer with 2 razors and other miscellaneous stuff today on a 80% highway about an hour each way. I was running 70-75 most of the time. Until the hills if they were 6 or 7% grade I would lose speed sometimes down to 60mph. Now if I pushed the go pedal nothing happened untill it kicked down and was screaming and starting to haul a$$. Now my brothers 99 with a built trans, 100 horse injectors and an edge ez. Don't have this issue. He just mashes a little and rolls on. Is it normal or something a tuner could help? Or am I asking for more than I should be? I ain't saying it was horrible just that it started to lose speed when I didn't expect it to. No lo…

Anyone heard good from them? My new AD100 is squeaking loud enough and when it squeaks it looses fuel pressure but comes right back for a moment. I hope they treat me right. It's only got 7,000 miles on it. - - - Updated - - - They wanted to send me another pump but, they wanted my credit card number for shipping. I told them I don't have credit cards and would rather have my money back unless you can convince me you are building the pump like the old days when it was reliable and last longer than 7000 miles. That's when he hung up on me. Now this is a bunch of BS. AND THEY BARELY SPEAK ON THE PHONE... so you can't understand what they are saying…

2 part question. I bought a 1999 Dodge 2500 4x4 with an automatic tranny last year. Got it cheap from a dealer since it needed work. In the process of getting it back on road I discovered someone put a lot of money in the truck. I'm trying to figure out roughly what the HP and Torque is at now. Also what the next mods should be. Truck came with Banks Ottomind, high ram, gauges, tranny rebuilt 7 miles before i bought it probably with the cheapest parts possible, rebuilt stock turbo. I added Fast titanium, pressure gauge, BHAF and RV275 injectors not realizing that it had the Ottomind in it. I might be looking at an upgraded…

The clutch in the 97 is a stock napa unit I replaced back in 2011. It would be fine except for me putting out more power. I would like to stay away from a dual disk as well as full ceramic. I was looking at the Valair kevlar/ceramic. I've seen em around the $750 range. Neighbor has a 13" valair in his 96 with 3.55s and has grossed upwards of 30k hauling hay. He is a little over stock power.... maybe 250hp. I know South Bend is a sponsor here, and am certainly open to one, but I've never personally known anybody with one or have any experience. Heard good things though. So, I plan to throw some injectors in the mix in the near future ow…

A neighbour of mine is parting out his truck. He has 75 hp dynamite injectors in it and an hx 40 turbo. Should I go for the turbo? I've heard of hybrid turbos, is that a hx 35/40 combo? This turbo stuff goes way over my head.

Put an hx on a couple of weeks ago and not impressed with it campared to the hy. Am I missing something? I had a turnbuckle on the hy and have the edge boost elbow on the hx. The Hx seems to be a lot slower boosting up, running hotter and taking a lot longer to get down to 350 for shutdown. All of this while driving empty. Will it perform better under load? I am concerned for when I put the 13000 lb fifth wheel behind it. While cruising at 60 empty I am at 5lb boost and running around 750-800 with the juice on 3x5. Seems hot to me. The hy was around 7lb boost and 700 if I remember correctly. I am not see the advantages. I am wanting to get some rv's or some +50 injectors …

Hi guys/gals, I have installed a PowerPuck, boost fooler and a boost elbow. I have been adjusting the set screw on the elbow but it seems the 25 or 27 is the most boost I can get. Is 25 - 27 psi the most an HX35 will put out? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Went to install a j-hook tonight and noticed my HY35 has a fair amount of shaft play and some oil residue starting to form inside the turbo. I read awhile back and again tonight that an HX35 will bolt right in, and help with egt's and give up a few more psi in the boost department. It just so happens I have a buddy with an HX35 sitting on a shelf in his garage that he said I could pretty much have, but he said it could probably use a rebuild. He thinks its off a 12v but isnt quite sure, from what I've read the only difference is the number of fins on the impeller, 8 for a 12v 7 for 24? As far as rebuilds go is it worth buying a rebuild kit and doing it yourself or sending…

Did some turbo swapping on the '96. Went from the older 8 blade HX35 to the HY35-D found on 03-04 dodges. To make the swap easy, I used a HY35 turbine housing off a 2nd gen. This turbo is a 56/58/9W instead of the HX35's 56/60/12WD. I expected faster spooling, and possibly a less restrictive top end... I was wrong. The top end pulls a little harder and spooling is amazing, but down low just doesn't cut it. Here are the runs: RPM, Here you can see the HX35 took off much faster. Pressures, Again, spool-up on the HY was noticeably slower, but the top end did well. 60psi Drive pressure all the way to 3400RPM. For…

i've decided i need to wake the truck up again but would like to do it on a budget. i'd add affordable 100 or 125 hp sticks pry from dap, cpp, or fbd (i've heard mixed reviews from sdx). then keep the box turned down and take it easy til i do an aftermarket exhaust manifold and turbo upgrade. my ? is would it be worth it to take my stock turbo and turn it into an hx40/35 hybrid or should i save my $ and go with a 62/65 or something similar later down the road. i was also curious what egts i may see with the hybrid and how i would know if i'm getting into drive pressure trouble or not? truck is mostly a dd and i'm sure a clutch upgrade will be in the not too distant fu…

Heres inside a 51" Then after I beat on it with a bar. Wish I had a air cutter so I could reach in and cut it out. I couldn't get the ears to bend all the way out. Figured I'd share this here. The 51" 5" muffler in the application it was designed for. The exhaust 90 was rusted out. I did a quick bandaid with the new muffler it hopefully lasts a few years. I also did brakes on the drives and painted the bed. This truck takes priority over my pickup I drive it more anyways. It's a 365 big cam I've done no power mods on. Truck has 1.3mill on it. 365 was in framed at 837k replaced a couple injectors and clutch…

I borrowed a friends Smarty S03 to see if I like it. I don't think I will be comfortable enough to run the Edge and Smarty at the same time. If I do get the nerve.. I know enough not to run the Smarty on advanced timing settings. Any advice on what settings to try? There only appears to be one setting with boost fooling. Does this mean that any of the other settings.. that I should not be able to obtain boost levels over 20? I ask because I already tried the fuel saver mode for like 5 minutes and got my boost gauge to 30 and didn't think that could happen.

Ok guys, As you know I'm an old salt here, I've helped hundred of people, but now I've reached the rope with NAPA. I've bough several alternators thought them for various local customers with the famed torque converter lock up. And after 2 years with a new Napa alternator mine failed in late January. Due to my own error I misplaced that recipt so I bought another new one for $191. Yesterday night after 6 months and a few days this one gave up as well. The ac ripple would go from .05vac then started spiking to .12vac. I called the same NAPA dealer I always use and told them it was a warranty. When I got there, they informed me that a 'lifetime' warranty was a o…

I am working on a timing for my 00 24v cummins. The goal is to be able to achieve increased- or retarded timing by varying the temps read by the ecm. I spoke with Mike the otherday, and was just wondering if I am the only guy that has taken this approach?

I just want to attempt to kill off some Internet myths again. Cleaning IAT sensor WILL NOT improve engine performance or fix any engine problems. This right here is an IAT sensor for 98.5 to 02 Dodge Cummins 24V engine. This sensor has about 50k miles of gunk on it. This has ZERO impact on the sensor ability to read air temperature in the manifold. Cleaning the sensor will do nothing for performance or MPG. The way to check the IAT sensor for problems is with a live data tool like OBDLink, ScanGauge II or even the Quadzilla Adrenaline. Now at first key on of the day take note of the coolant and the IAT temperatures. They should match if they do no…
