Just trying to track down the issue efficiently, if anybody has a good/better/best place to start. Did a boost leak test last week, found a few leaks, tightened some clamps, leaks gone. Threaded in a new boost elbow. Before, with leaks, I was seeing about 18-19psi max. Now I can’t get to 10psi. Set screw is turned all the way in. Bleed orifice does seem to be constantly bleeding air, but I’m not sure if that’s by design or not. It’s the adjustable boost elbow from DAP.

J-Hook '01-'02 Automatics (for HY Turbos) Dodge Cummins (182555) Here is a quick way to increase your boost . Available for the '01-'02 24 Valve Cummins engine equipped with the 47RE automatic transmission. The J-Hook regulates the waste gate, facilitating greater boost numbers which rise even higher as performance modifications are added. The higher volume of air will also help keep exhaust temperatures down. Has any used or know about these? Just asking before I bought one.

Newbie here and I don't want to beat a dead horse,BUT,! Here I go. Have a 2000 3500 dually, 5spd ,4:10s 185000 miles. This thing is useless, very disappointing TRUCK,but I like it! On the same roads, pulling the same loads that I did with my 401 powered Jeep Cherokee. This TRUCK would never keep up! I have replaced the lift pump, injection pump, all the filters, clean the fuel system out, rebuilt the turbo, replace the gate valve. I have good fuel pressure, plenty of boost. Sucks fuel like it's free. Everything except for gate valve is stock. No exaggeration,,, it Hardly pulls my 1car trailor.Ready to burn it! I got it to carry my truck camper an tow my trailer with JEEP o…

Hi everyone as I'm relatively new to this I would like to say thanks for the add I have been researching on making a standalone controller for my 351 vgt I was going the lilbb route but the website no longer works you can't buy anything and cannot register to ask in their forum and I seen the write-up in this form which is very detailed and thorough but my main question is has anyone done it here that still runs it and did you run lbb's box or build your own? I'm looking for the breadboard to build the lbbs box cause I have everything to solder it into it

So last week I installed a set of 7x10 injectors. I am thoroughly impressed with them but they make me nervous with my stock HY35. I'm traveling for work right now and happened on a good deal on an HX35 off another 01. I scooped it up because of the price. No shaft play and looks pretty good. From what I've read this should be a direct swap for the HY. Is there anything else I may need? I'm planning on hauling my fifth wheel back home Friday and may try to install in the hotel parking deck. I'm sure they will love that! The HX should have lower EGT's than the HY correct? Thanks!

Something I figured out the other day. I had started my truck cold after doing a valve adjustment and the grid heater was cycling in and out as normal. Then I placed my hand on the back of the alternator near the diode plate and Wow! that thing gets hot. Even with the Quadzilla bumping up the idle to 1,200 RPM with its own high idle the draw of the grid heater is considerable. I'm starting to think it might a be a good suggestion to replace my grid heater here in the future and see if the diode heat is reduced.

I've had blue smoke coming out of my exhaust upon acceleration, after idling for an extended period of time, for a while now and it smells like oil burning, since I think blue smoke can also be excess fuel. Since oil can only enter the exhaust via the turbo oil seals and the valve seals, I think its the turbo because around 2017 (I think) I had my cylinder head rebuilt due to my head gasket leaking coolant down the side of the block. I haven't pulled the down pipe to confirm yet but its on the list for it. I'm getting into sled pulling with the truck so i was wondering if it would be more beneficial to upgrade the turbo since it would have to come out anyway. …

Well after working through several issues as yall know I was finally able to get myself a quadzilla adrenaline. I got it installed this afternoon and have it on default settings it came with and just kept bumping it up just messing around only made it to 7 till I got home, kinda scary... and no smoke-kinda expected alot since these huge injectors...? I guess, who can help me paid or unpaid 😁 get something setup for everything in my sig but note the pump may or may NOT be a dragonflow, this is still a mystery. Now to go try and school myself on how to get things setup, power levels, different profiles etc... so much to do!

So this problem has been eating away at me for a while now. Ever since I bought this truck almost 2 years ago, it has always had a hard shift problem. It almost feels like the clutch doesn't release fully right away. I figured it was the stock hydro's going out. I replaced them with the valair HD set from DAP. It definitely helped the problem but it hasn't completely gone away. I thought at first maybe the tranny is just starting to wear out being it has over 200k on it, but it feels exactly the same in every gear. I tried adjusting the clutch pedal out farther so it gets more travel and pushes the clutch more. Still feels like the clutch isn't releasing all the way at fi…

ok - so I'm jumping the boat and going twins. I'm tired of fighting EGT towing even with methanol - dont want to go with reasons here - pm me if you need info on that one. I am guesstimate around ~400HP right now. I doubt I will ever go over 500-550 due to mpg and breaking my tranny So - I currently have a he351cw from john (AH64ID) here. Works well but want more. So underneath it as a primary will be a s472. My first step will be STUDS. This will be a longish thread. I am going to follow the ARP sequence and instructions for torque - you can get that here. http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/images/PDFs/ARP%20Head%20Stud%20Installation.pdf Likely to start in around …

I know the cheap thing would be to straight pipe the stock exhaust. But I have a couple issues with noise. First is that I use my truck as a service vehicle in an upscale neighborhood and the other is hunting. Mike said in some post that you could hear his truck coming for a mile. Not good for hunting. Like typical, I want my desired outcome for the least amount of money. I wish to have better flow of air through the engine and have it quiet. Is there a way to go from my stock muffler to straight pipe by pulling a lever? I'd be willing to do it from outside the vehicle.

So yesterday morning I went to start my dodge for the first time in over a week. Let the grid heater cycle 2 times and tried to start it. Wouldn't start so I unhooked the quad from the battery but not the map (forgot that part). Jumped the truck and had a cel. Drove to my brother's next door to change the turbo. Got that done and went for a drive. Had zero boost checked the cel and it was a p0238, 0236. Unhooked the quad at the plug, left the quad map sensor is plugged and same results. Drove like a turd and no boost. (Limp mode if I can describe it). Did I fry the map or the quad? Should I unhook the quad map sensor and plug in the factory one? …

Now that I have a Quad (and now set to the correct V2 tuning!) I can see my timing, engine load, etc. When I look around this site I see all kinds of ranges for normal timing and load percentage for various driving conditions, but most folks have larger injectors, higher pop pressures, etc. I have reman Bosch injectors with about 30k miles on them. I still have the HY35 turbo. I roll down the road at about 7,800 pounds, with camper shell. Attached photos are flat Iowa interstate driving, from 10 days ago. The Engine Load seems high; I often see 65% on even a mild rise, such as this morning on my way to work +10 miles into the interstate trip. At idle, my load perce…

I'm thinking of installing the Isspro R17033 RV2 fuel pressure gauge (electric) and the bullet mount. I know they offer a mechanical gauge and perhaps its more accurate, but I like the idea of an easy install and no chance of fuel coming in the cab. I'm also looking at the Vulcan big line filter to vp44 kit. I have read Mopar1973Man's article for this install and look to do just the same, however I have few questions for those already having done this mod before: Is there a need for 1/2" over 3/8" big line kit? Depending on the condition of the stock in-tank pump, an Air Dog or Fass would be in the future with its big line kit. Is there a need …

Well first off I would like to thank Cajflynn for the wonderful donation of his used RV275 injectors, which happen to show up in todays mail. i'll get some pics up soon... In the mean time I'm going to gather up a few supplies for installing them. Does anyone know where I can get copper shims and fresh O-rings for these??? Holy Cow!!! I looked up the numbers on the injector and... 0432193635 / 4183 Comes back as either a RV275 or a 300 HP injector... Still much better than stock! http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=60&stc=1&d=1260397958 http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachm…

Wondering if anyone else has issues with "Daily driver with meat" tune? It was running awsome for a day or two, then things took a turn for the worst. Started idleing around 3k too high, hard starting, 5-8 seconds of cranking (usually fire's right up with just a blip of turn key) check engine light, 0500, 1693, sitting at a light whilst in gear it would surge randomly and try to take off! Switched to a different tune and seems to go back to normal?? Honestly haven't driven much since. But lights out and idles normal. On another note, if anyone in Boise area could help a brother out who has experience with the quadzilla and maybe hel…

Just got my second oil sample back from Blackstone and all looked good except silicone. What causes silicone levels to be high? I thought it was air filter but it had a new Bhaf the entire run. Had stock air box and clean looking filter when I got it and silicone was high then too.

Hello Everyone, I have been going back-forth for several months now on if I should invest in my truck or a newer truck. Now it must be stated that my current 2nd gen has been nothing short of awesome to me, always completed the task asked (towing, road trip, hauling) but its now 15yrs old with 171k miles. I just got back from another road trip to visit my friend out of state (360 miles each way) and I came to the conclusion I either need to invest in my current rig or search for something newer (3rd /4th gen). The below list are the items I know of my truck would require to be invested in (not necessarily in order) to be 100% in my book (some may not be nec…

First off what are the benefits, if any, is there to a turbo blanket? I havent looked at all to see if there was a previous thread on turbo blankets but I was wanting to know if they're a good investment for $25 off amazon. Every kid in the country with a Honda Civic thats turbocharged has one so I didnt know if it actually helped or was just for looks. If it does help though, would it help performance to have one AND MoparMan's BHAF shield thingy he made out of a License plate or whatever its made out of? Anything helps as always. Thanks!!!
