Hey guys.Got tired wondering which was better.HX35, HE351cw or Super HX40.So ---- bought a HX35 (Im an auto running a HY35) and sold it without putting it on. But have now bought both a Super HX40 and a he351cw. Going to feel the differences for myself and post results here - both spool and EGT and boost/feel pressures.Took my hy35 off today. Bolted on my HX40 with new DP to find I am 4.5" short ..... due to elbow ..... so going to have to get the DP extended during week and put back on. Will update when I do.Then it will be off in 2 weeks maybe and put on the he351cw - will update on that too.For a funny side bit- I was yanking and yanking on the 4th bolt of the t3 fla…

Would anyone be interested in a dump for the possibility in unlocking a superchips 3855? I paid for the unlock and sniffed the USB port for packet information, raw data, etc while the superchips had the unlocking info sent to it. I just like to use these to change tire sizes.

I have some surface rust in different areas of my 2001 3500. I have tried to address some of it once and failed, the rust came back in a month or so. I used a wire wheel to remove any loose light rust, had pretty clean metal when finished, sprayed 2 coats of "rust converter" to stop any that wasn't removed. Then sprayed 2 coats of primer over that. The rust came back. I am not a body man but did this happen because I did not apply paint to seal the repair? I thought the primer would do that but I guess I was wrong. One day I would like to repaint the truck but for now I just want to do some touch up and fix any thing I can to keep her looking decent. Tha…

Sorry if the title doesnt make sense Im wondering if its possible to swap from the engine mounted APPS to the 3rd gen style pedal. Both are 6 pin connectors. And honestly i hate that anytime i wanna do something to the drivers side of the engine im running into the sensor being right there in my way. The only thing that would pose an issue would be the TV cable but Im sure theres a way around that.. Just food for thought.

I added an in-line filter behind my raptor pump. I found that there was no in let screens on the pump. But my fuel pressure at Idol had dropped from 20 to 15. So I guess after this exercise my only course of action was to adjust up the fuel pressure. What are the symptoms of a raptors declining health? Is slowly losing pressure a concern? Is regular maintenance of any kind recommended? I noticed that the pump came with a large and small O-ring for resealing. I am hoping to beat the raptor failure inevitability.

Curious, never used synthetic oil, just wondering what kinda of miles I can get between changes. I usually use Donaldson or Fleetguard filters. Thinking of trying Donaldson Blue filter with Synthetic. All these miles will be highway usually towing something between 4-7k. Thx for any input.

I couldn't find a way to mount my tablet that i liked so i made one. Got a tablet mount from Wal-Mart online for about $9 that is for bike handlebars. 2 1/2" conduit clamps, about a foot of gray electric conduit and a 90° elbow. I didn't glue the elbow so it will rotate and can be easily removed. My center seat is a sub box & I screwed it to the front edge. Works great, really stable. Also works good for a phone holder.

I've been fooling around with moparman1973's tunes on my 2nd gen cummins and figured smoke was just a way of life. However I was recently cruising threads and saw a comment alluding to a required step to adjust something when tuning for a truck with large tires and tall gears. I think I have the absolute worst case for this issue so help or guidance where to adjust would be greatly appreciated. My concern is not mpg but rather managing the fuel and timing curve to light the turbo well and hopefully minimize smoke 2001 5.9 valair twin disk nv4500 3.56 with 35" tires. Thinking of installing the FASS tank Sump as I'm getting some minor fuel cavitation below half tanks of fuel. I hear fuel pressure drops are not as dramatic when hauling heavy up hills and the lift pumps running quieter. I already have all the fuel system mods except for the tank sump but I have one concern.... I read some discussion that it is illegal to draw fuel from the bottom of the tank in some states. Anyone know about this? Also wondering if anyone heard of leaks from any tank sump installs. Merry Christmas to everyone

Looking for some opinions I'm running a modded hx35 63 68 ported 12 now here's what I'm thinking tater built 67 68.9 12 with the hx40 down pipe or go s300 ball bearing 64 71 12 both companies say there turbo will spool faster then mine tater built builds a version of my turbo and said he can get the 67 to spool faster with a 7 blade compressor ECT the tater built Is also cheaper and no I'm not going smaller I like my turbo but always want more so any one got opinions I don't want to have to compound it I want stock appearing

Ok gentlemen, my 200F dodge stat came in and i swapped it into the truck. This experiment is based on comparisons of the 200F Mopar stat to the 195 Napa one. I decided to take the plunge in this, and will post up pictures later from my phone showing the two T-stats. The Mopar one is definitely looks Cummins to me, and is very beefy to start with. My Mopar one cost roughly 60 bucks out the door at the stealership, im sure one can find one cheaper elsewhere. I'll also grab a part number, but there is another thread somewhere on CF that lists it. Its a 6 series though. I decided that since no one else will play with this monster i should be the first. This is in refere…

Hi All, I started this thread to share (maybe inspire, feel free to add posts on your own) fellow 2nd gen owners on the refresh of my truck as while its getting older, I think there are simple ways to make it fit better into the modern world. This mindset started when I started considering buying a 4th gen, and while they are awesome I realized that with a little TLC my 2nd gen could fit better into the modern truck world and I could avoid a truck payment! What I have done thus far: 1. New shocks on all four corners (no pics, sorry) 2. Additional lighting upfront (I can get a picture this weekend) 3. Removed, cleaned and remounted the weat…

After reviewing the size of our stock exhaust system's are, I am now trying to find out the point of going to a 4" or even a 5" exhaust system for performance. Now, sound is one thing, but performance, I don't understand the logic. It is simple, and maybe I am oversimplifying this (someone tell me otherwise) but if you have a 3" exhaust flange coming off of the stock HX35 or HY35 exhaust housing, how is putting a 4 or 5" down pipe work when the choke point of the exhaust is 3", then going to a 4" or 5" going to help you move exhaust gases better? I come from drag racing, I always have and It has always been gas, not diesel. Most of the same principles apply…

Howdy guys, it’s been some time since I was at all active online, but hopped on to see what was new and figured I’d let y’all know my current project. About a year ago I bought the shawty, it’s a 1995 rcsb. did the basic round of mods, maxed 180 pump, injectors, a s362, and a transmission that could hold it. Did 540hp on that setup that setup was a blast to daily drive, but I wanted to play with something new, so I decided to common rail swap it with some pretty good size wirly boiz all this was done in a rush to try and make it to the ATS gauntlet challenge, first fire was a week before the competition. …
