While using Chris Os abs tool that reads turbo boost I couldn’t hit more than 16 psi. Isn’t this way low for an hx35 with 75s? I need to test for boost leaks again...

Ok guys I have 315-75's on my truck and I believe that my mph is off about 13% so if i am trying to calcuate my correct mpg would i take my total mpg' per tank and multiply by 13%??? :shrug:If i am thinking right this should give me an accurate mpg. Any help is much appreciated.

Idling in the parki g lot today and I notice 0 FP. So I dig into it and no blown fuse. Plug another relay in and nothing, hot wire the pump nothing. I have power to the pump and the ECM is triggering the relay like it should but the pump is dead. The only thing I did not do is open the cover over the gear rotor to see if something got in there. Even if something was in there the pump is not even trying to run. Any suggestions?

  5. Hello and good morning, I recently bought a 33' toy hauler. and I quickly found out that my rig is not set up for towing that kind of weight. wondering if I can get some recommendations for solving this dilemma. truck is all but stock with a juice with attitude programmer. set up is as follows, 01 3500 dually HO 5.9, 6 sp man NV5600, front axle dana M60 f/ 248mmFBI, rear Dana 80 (hybrid) ( not quite sure what that means ) with 3.55 gear ratio, currently running LT 245/75R17 tire n rims. I work this truck 6 days week as a union pipeline welder, time is precious and I only want to have to do this once. does anyone have experience with the gear vender product? Anyways it ti…

After reviewing the size of our stock exhaust system's are, I am now trying to find out the point of going to a 4" or even a 5" exhaust system for performance. Now, sound is one thing, but performance, I don't understand the logic. It is simple, and maybe I am oversimplifying this (someone tell me otherwise) but if you have a 3" exhaust flange coming off of the stock HX35 or HY35 exhaust housing, how is putting a 4 or 5" down pipe work when the choke point of the exhaust is 3", then going to a 4" or 5" going to help you move exhaust gases better? I come from drag racing, I always have and It has always been gas, not diesel. Most of the same principles apply…

Can 400 hp be made on a stock HX35 turbo without EGT issues? Still trying to decide on my power goals lol. I’d like to be able to tow fairly heavy and have a fun daily driver. I don’t want to mess with new turbos so what is the max on my HX?

I am new to the forum and joined due to Mopar1973man presence in many other forums. With that being said I hope I am posting this in the right place. I have a 2001 4x4 quad cab short bed auto that I purchased about 2 years ago with 86k on the clock and appeared completely stock with 3.54 gearing. It now has 114k on the clock with an Airdog 100 with .5" fuel lines running 16 psi idle and I have not seen it drop below 14 psi with throttle and also has a K&N CAI. The VP looks to have been replaced sometime before I purchased as it has a reman sticker on it. The issue I am having is low performance. The truck idles great with no smoke. When driving it seems the engin…

I was going to revive an old thread on my issues but it seems ther are more than one. So I will give the Readers Digest version. About 4years ago I started having engine surging problems. It would surge about 3% to 5% and was annoying and would set a couple of apps codes. But the problem got worse and would surge upwards of 14%. When it would go this far it would soon trip an apps code and would dead pedal. Always recovered, though it would take a few minutes. So I broke down and made my electrically challenged arse do some diagnostics on the apps and everything pointed to the sensor being bad. I bought a cheap one off of EBay installed and sure enough no su…

It's not a huge deal compared to some.other members here but I've reached 150,000 miles. I've only owned the truck for a little over a year. She had about 138k on the clock when I bought it but so far, no major problems and looking forward to the next several hundred thousand miles behind the wheel.

  13. Hi all, There used to be an order for doing the step by step improvements on a VP44 truck, does that still exist? Bought a clean 2000, 2500 4x4 club cab & need that list for a reference. I will get an Air Dog Raptor & a Fuel Gauge. Also need a temp gauge for the Auto. Is that still the way to go? So my 1st sort of concern. I was coming back from Canada pulling a 24' pontoon boat on a 28' trailer no worries until I got to the border, as we sat for an hour, wasn't that hot, drove about 200 miles w/o the A/C, my engine temp gauge started rising till about the 3/4 mark. So waiting in line I quickly raised the hood up to give a quick check & noticed that th…

  14. I am not understanding why it is favorable to drill under the fuel module basket as I have read? Do the tanks have any walls/ baffles in the smooth flat area closer to the front strap? Does everyone like the Beans sump ? Thanks

  15. So what should I know heading into this project? I came across this somewhere (maybe it was even here somewhere, can't remember) and wonder what you guys say about it. http://www.turbodieselregister.com/tdrarticles/tdrarticle53_fromtheshopfloor.html I plan to go with Moog parts. What about the alignment, I understand that getting things set precisely is important on these trucks. I have a serious wandering problem and hope to gain a lot of ground with this problem.

I had a check engine light come on. Been threatening to buy a ScanGauge, so since I had no way to read or delete codes I bought one today. Popped a P0234...boost too high code. I had just passed a truck on a grade, the transmission kicked down to lockup out of overdrive. If I had control id not let it kick down. So I know when it happened. Good news is that's the only code that had been stored. That's a relief. Now I'm working on calibrating and playing with various settings. Do you think the boost reading is accurate? Says 13 at idle. Water temp fluctuates quite a bit. 188-212* in town stop and go. So maybe indicates that my radiator can't keep up with t…

I’m curious if my stock clutch will hold a set of DAP 7x0.008 50 hp vco injectors and a 65 hp tuner?

I'm looking to get new tires and thanks to @Mopar1973Man and few other reviews I'm thinking about getting these Hankook ATm in 265/70/17 E rated. Currently I have Toyo Open Country at2 in 285/70/17 and they are OK tire, but not as good as its hyped up. I had one crack in between tread on me in a first month of ownership, but it's been 4 years now and the crack hasn't grown. I put same set on my work truck f350 (265/70/17) and they are almost gone after 25k, and have some tiny cracks all over them, like they are 10 years old. What made me lean this direction to go smaller is few things. One is I got a used set of rims and tires of 03 with some junky 265/70/17 BF …

  19. I've got some questions about the upgrade path for my truck. Intro thread here with some more info and background. Truck Info: 2001 Quad Cab Automatic/HY35 ~260K Miles 4.10s 285/75R16 - 33's BHAF, 4" Turboback, Billet Singe Torque Converter, Shift Kit, Fass Random small things like greaseable ball joints, etc I'm happy with the truck when just driving around, but I feel like it could use some more power when towing my fifth wheel up some of the passes in WA/ID/OR/MT. It'll definitely do it, but i've had some steeper grades where keeps 40/45 is difficult and I'd like to make that easy while keeping my EGTs in check…

The turbo I have is a 60mm schwitzer turbo 150 ddp injectors and a hot rod vp44 I bought the truck with all of this and all have less then 6k miles I’ve driven the truck for about 1k miles and notice the turbo doesn’t spool past 8psi until about 2k rpm is this slow? Also the most the turbo has spooled too is about 25psi because it runs out of rpm and smokes really bad down low in third fourth and fifth gear
