Hey Yabba... Your RV is almost exactly the same floor plan. Yours is a 5th wheel with very small differences to my own.

Article On Lift Pump Specs/vp44 1999 Dodge 24 Valve
Well the error code P1688 isn't good the VP44 is indeed shot. But why would you hassle with unknown shop I know DAP sell lift pump and VP44 combo packages for under $1,000... Even better yet its a FASS lift pump. http://www.dieselautopower.com/product-p/vp44-combo-fass.htm

Oil Leak
When I last checked mine this winter on about 0*F day. The hose from the head was so darn hot you can't hold the hose for any length of time. But now the return hose the one that goes to the tube under the exhaust that one is so much cooler its a perfect hand warmer temperature. Last time I measure the vents temperature I was blowing about 160*F from the center vents on high fan. So my return hose is much cooler because of the heavy exchange of heat.

Hauling Truck Camper On A Srw 3/4 Ton
That would be the only factor I would upgrade wheels if I planned on crossing that line. But typically I don't run that much weight.

New Tires
China bombs... The biggest thing is to check the speed rating of the tire. Like I know both trailers (RV and utility) have the J Speed rating (62 MPH) or K speed rating (68 MPH).Both trailers can't exceed the weight allowance in normal use. I've never had a single issue with China made tires. A matter of fact I ran a set of ST tires on my truck that where Load Range G's (3,750#) and Speed rating of Q (99 MPH) never had a issue with using a ST on my truck either. Just to make you think.

Like I realized in the last few years how much I needed certain things like the air conditioning and microwave. Really funny we don't have air conditioning at home and typically don't use it in the RV because its rather noisy too. Microwave yeah once in a great while we might use even the one at home but still MoparMom and myself are more a outdoor cooker than inside RV. Camping is all about the experience of cooking outdoors. So back to even my mod of doing solar power it more or less to have lighting and a bit of heat. Maybe plug in a laptop or cell phone to charge. I really curious to see AH64ID's final product of inverter system.

Tune Ups?
What ever filter your using I would consider up grading to BHAF. If your using a stock box then grease the filter gasket to help seal it back up. The plastic box will deform over time and start to leak dust by.

Advice On Clutches
All depends on the flywheel thickness and the how ate up the face is. I've seen some flywheels take a just a bit of surface work and good to go. Then I've seen other that are way to far gone and need to be replaced. I did a clutch on 2005 Cummins and was shocked the friction disc was completely gone and chewed up and flywheel was virtually untouched how that happened I don't know but even with a straight edge it was in good shape.

Where Are The Young Entrepreneurs?
Like myself I'm constantly looking around me for different opportunities into different jobs. Like I'm considering now hoping back into computer support again with Linux machines being more and more popular with people around me locally have started considering the Linux operating system over Windows. I'm not going to put a bunch of hope into it working but it seems to be another void I can fill. Then with Ed Grafton with the high idle kits well he's got other things cooking on the stove and keeping me hoping with secret squirrel jobs and chours.

Air Dog Ii 165...yay Or Nay?
Personally I had too many phone calls of people have very very short life snaps from AirDog systems. I had one gent that replaced his AirDog 4 times in 1,000 miles and heading for his 5th pump. * Motor seals * Motor fails after short period * Geo-rotor issues (clocking required?) * Regulator issues on the adjustable systems * Quick connect fitting tend to leak air and loose prime. AirDog is not what it once was. What's sad is I know FASS went up in price. Assassin is having issues including regulator and geo-rotor problems too. Snapping belts from rotors binding up. No priming pump so if the system drains for some reason you better have a cordless drill with you. Fuel boss seems to be good pump being last I knew they kept the electric lift pump for a priming system but this adds more plumbing and check valve in the system hence the price is higher than Assassin. Tough call for fuel systems these days.

Anybody Running Dap Injectors?
I've ran the RV275's which where used from CajFlynn. Then now I'm running a +50HP from Vulcan Performance. I really do like the performance and they work awesome on a stock turbo without any issues.

I Want!
Like myself I love some of the bumper and grill guard ideas. But to this day I can't seem to do it for two reasons. 1. I really don't want to add more weight to the truck and heavy steel bummer is out and aluminium bumper won't be worth it if it can't guard a simple deer at lower speeds (attempt to stop). Front axle is already at 4,400 pounds and 5,200 is limit so considering the rough dirt roads and the extra weight pounding on the axle wouldn't help matters much. 2. The fact that it makes working the truck difficult climbing over the top of the grill guard. I like the ability of kneeing on the bumper and doing most all work. But I sure pay the price working on other trucks with grill guards and such usually take on my damage to my lower back and my knees.

Cirrus, Back In The Shop...
You should see the huge potholes McCall, ID has for city streets. What worse is the city continues to was money on cold patch so the plow can rip it back up. This has be a issue for many years and for a rich tourist town it shows me that they continue this method.

Fuel Boss Or Assassin
I vote for Fuel Boss. I heard issues in regards to Assassin Pump and their regulators. Wild up and down swings... Might ask around over at CumminsForum and there is a member here with Assassin pump as well.

Brakes Pulsing
Ouch... Might be a good idea to step up the maintenance / inspection schedule. I typically inspect my vehicles once a month and check basic things like this.

Power Steering Noise
The one pump I did change didn't have a screen. I do agree with W&F about air in thee system it does create some weird issues too sometimes its easier to jack up the front axle and go from lock to lock with it running to help push the air from the system too. Sometime you have to hold the RPM's up and go lock to lock to purge the air out.

Hello From Almost 1St Time Diesel Owner From Nj
Mechanical Gauges are a MUST. As for the VP44 I would look at DAP or Vulcan Performance for Injection pumps being both sell pumps with brand new electronics (PSG). As for the Assassin Pump its kind of questionable yet. Regulator issues? 4" exhaust would be best. As for injectors that is a wide topics and goes both ways. Depends on what you planing on doing to HP/TQ gains or MPG gains.
