  1. How about this... http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Results.aspx?Ntt=r134a%20manifold%20gauges&Ntk=Keyword&Nty=1&N=0
  2. You might want to check around again... I remember seeing a news article saying it legal to carry conseal weapons in all 50 states now... I'm not 100% sure but I'm sure I remember seeing article about...
  3. Now that's getting cold...
  4. Personally if I'm empty and traveling dirt roads is fine for AT tires. But If I'm loaded or plan on working long periods offroad (like firewood season) I normally switch to my Cooper STT to aid in traction.
  5. If it was me... I would take a DVM and check wire for wire for ground or short problems... And...
  6. No... The oil will always settle to thel owest point in the system and stay regardless of the vacuum. So you would have open the system and blow out the evaporator, condenser, and drain the compressor. Might remove the drier can flip it upside down and blow it out... Then put a vacuum on the system and recharger with 6 ozs of oil and then your 3 cans of freon.
  7. Actually no there not... There is no low pressure shutdown on these as far as I know. I got a neighbor that ruined a 3rd Gen by getting stuck in a ditch with the nose down really steep and the oil pump was dry so the alarms and the light came on for the oil pressure then it was too late... Ate the rigs on 3 cylinders... End up selling the truck...
  8. Any update on this yet? Amen brother... I'm in the same boat... The Computer industry is shot right now no one has $500 to $1,000 to lay down on new computer... So the autmotive repairs and doing A/C recharging is keeping a few nickles in my pockets...
  9. How about common stuff like bad grounds? The APPS system ground is buried behind the starter on the engine block.
  10. Sound like my data logs... But I don't cover that much data though...
  11. The only reason I didn't do the valve... Is because of all the logs, branches, and debris I drive over it would really suck to have a stick or limb swing the valve open on you..
  12. Funny you should mention this I had a long conversation with Pepsi (from over at CF.com) on the phone about this very same problem. He discharge a little bit of freon at a time from the high side while the A/C was running. During this time he kept a IR laser thermometer on the drier and low side pipe watching the temps. During this short little burst of discharge he said that there was huge amount of oil coming out of the high side coating his hand as you see the freon kind of bubble out of it turning to gasous state. Once it got down near 40* he stopped. Now the net result is that he said the grunting noise is nerarly gone when you turn on the A/C for the first time. But the dash temps were about 45*F ... I would personally think of evac the system and then start over from bottom up like Flman suggest then you know exactly how much of each you got oil and freon...
  13. I think way too much water, mud, and heavy foot... My Buddies 92 Dodge is a nasty smoking SOB at lower RPM's crawling along... It called turn down the smoke screw and tighten the AFC spring...
  14. Maybe that why I've not replaced my brake pads yet... 170,000 miles on the factory pads and still going...
  15. As for the heat... At this point in time its hidden in the truck quite well... Out of site out of mind... As for the Salmon it's gutted, cut into steaks, and frozen...
  16. I'm also packing heat too... But not really need here in Idaho for people its the darn Wolves...
  17. Boost fooler is anything the connects between the MAP sensor and the ECM lead. Could be a simple adapter (voltage regulator) or it could be a split loom that goes to a Edge comp or simular.
  18. I consider it thinking outside the box!
  19. Maybe I should check my Mitchell book for shop time rates for ya...
  20. I've also got a few videos where the camera should of just quit from the cussin'... So I don't feel bad... Take notice most of my video are quiet...
  21. Both really cool videos... First video is outrage amount of soot... Love the gasser video...
  22. *Subscribed!* I'm curious of the answer here... Because my Mom's 96 is doing the same thing...
  23. Hmmm... Your the one I was talking to on the phone... Ok... There is a more here that he's not telling the fuel pump relay (that controls the VP44 power) is get warm to the touch which is unusual... Another one found a hiarline crack in a fuse...
  24. Well I think you had enough punishment now.. I think next time you do the short cut...
