  1. Weak or damaged batteries with bad cells tend to generator extra heat. Being part of that load is convert to heat as it attempts to recharge bad cells. I've got 8 years on these batteries and starting to see sign that life is getting short for them. I'll keep you all updated as mine start to wear down.
  2. Yup right there... Overfueling tunes like Smarty tend to make the APPS value hit max duration at mere 40% APPS or so of throttle. Where a proper tune uses the full 100% of APPS to control fuel. I checked over my tune and with my economy tune (123%) max I hit a full 4095 CANBus fuel with WOT of the APPS. Haze to light smoke is acceptable but heavy smoke is not going to build power any faster. Some of the smoke you can tune out with timing. Even the stock ECM software (without a tuner) can hit max fuel 4095 CANBus fuel at WOT just the timing is rather retarded.
  3. I'm trying to remember the ins and out of cooking oil. I think the fresh stuff that is unused is fine. Just the stuff that has been used for cooking is full of salt, animal fats, etc.
  4. Man... I know the feeling right now everyone is feeling the pinch with e economy being poor and COVID-19 that is freaking people out... You would of enjoyed the Adrenaline... But under stand the money issue too.
  5. Check the fuel pump relay under the hood in the power distribution box (PDC). P1689 is a Communcation error between the VP44 and the ECM.
  6. Yup we need to see the error codes on the ECM.
  7. Low fuel pressure and failed timing piston in the VP44.
  8. Look what showed up in the mail? There is a box of LED light bulbs... Store has been updated.
  9. Just did another Trip to McCall which turned out about 80 miles. Still only 110*F with nearly 80*F temps out. Climbing a 7% grade at 45 MPH, and open flat running at 65 MPH. My truck was already warmed up some from a previous trip down to my other shop for a quick starter fix for my Landlord.
  10. I aim to please the best way I can... Hook a man up!
  11. You losing the cooling ability of the fuel. The overflow valve is closed. When fuel pressure drops below 14 PSI the overflow valve is closing by the time its getting to 10 PSI its completely closed. Good idea...
  12. @Tkeela66 I was talking to @B-TLE on the phone and when he was asking to buy a new truck I hooked him up with you...
  13. How much fuel is in your tank on the last photo? What is your fuel pressure while rolling under load?
  14. Here you can post it up here... https://mopar1973man.com/classifieds/ Someone here might want to buy it too... You never know...
  15. Confirmed my results... Thanks!
  16. More like $5000 to $8000 for a truck out here.
  17. I would say send them both out to ACS (Auto Computer Specialist) but that's just me. If you have warranty then I would use it. I know ACS has also a loom rebuilding division as well. So if there is a short or wiring issue they can handle both the computer and the wiring too.
  18. Standard ol' power steering fluid is all I use. Typically get at NAPA or a Walmart but I'm not sure what you got over there for parts stores.
  19. Even Cummins Seal kit with the double lip seal.
  20. Yup... Just takes a few minutes to set up...
  21. Be aware of your final ratio... it will load it up more, adds more stress to the transmission, and higher EGTs. Im finding optimal ratio right around 3.42 to 3.73. So like 285s on 3.55 gears makes 3.42. Now 245s on 3.55 is 3.69. But go to 35 inch on 3.55 will be 3.21. This might be too low of a ratio number.
  22. Still waiting to get to town. Highway is still closed for the most part. Roughly 1 to 1.5 hour wait to pass through. I just stayed home today.
