  8. I'm running 1/2 inch lines and have very little drop like 1 to 2 PSI drop from idle to WOT. More noticeable in the cold winter months it can be more like 5 PSI.
  9. Strang enough I'm reaching better MPGs with 2° cruise timing. I'm floating 16° to 18° total timing. What I'm figuring out you need to work strictly on level 2 or 3 to figure out tuning for optimal MPG numbers. There is few quirks I need to talk to Me78569 about.
  10. Just remember to mark the tire with a tire crayon and the driveshaft so you can make a good count.
  11. Raptors don't have a return line. Just a return port within the pump that returns the flow to the input side. Only the AirDog or FASS have the 3rd return line to the tank. This is a reason I'm not fond of the Raptor pump because it's possible to cavitate the pump.
  12. Exactly. For about 90% of the members here on M73M will gain nothing from changing out the exhaust and intake manifolds. Most here don't produce enough power to even worry about intake and exhaust manifolds. Now like @jlbayes and @TFaoro now thoes two gents pop to mind because of the fuel and air they are attempting to burn. At that point you would consider the added flow rates of the upgraded manifolds.
  13. The best way is to remove as much drag and losses as possible. Then you won't need as much power to make your goal. Like myself, my power mods are fairly small even back when I was hauling 10,000 pounds of hay through the fall. No issues to report I could pull it really easy. I will admit the deeper I got into the throttle in 4th gear I was capable of getting the tire to spin even hitch to this.   14. 215K miles? Really that just getting broke in. Your engine is brand new as far as I know. Transmission and transfer case is new. So the major stuff is covered. I'd say cover some of the maintenance and drive that to the camp out.
  15. So what mileage is that? I know I'm getting ready to cross 300k miles and still driving 3,800 to 4,200 miles a month. So at the longest route across the US at 3,200 miles then means I covering 110% to 130% of the US in one month. From Denver to New Meadows is only 985 miles that what I do in a week now. So one trip to Mom's dialysis is roughly 350-370 miles including traveling Boise for groceries and other stuff. Oh on my trip to Lewiston to drop @LiDaR at the airport for work. I lost my A/C relay and the compressor quit working. Did I panic? Nope... I stole the relay from the wipers till I get down to Boise to replace it. Consider I've got a 11 year old AirDog 150 fuel pump. Still not slowing down... So I lost a VP44, so the wheel bearing gave up. Then even a set of injectors. I'm not worried... I just keep on trucking... April's fuel logs...
  16. Why? Because it might break or the fuel mileage sucks that bad or both? I though you owned a Cummins not a Ford?
  17. Reason most sell them because they abuse the truck and it falls apart around them and they can't understand why the constant failures, bad steering, MPG suck, etc. You cannot just bolt on upgrades and expect to use them unlimited amount without something failing.

  19. Well you should not run a tuner against a hotrod pump. Edge will over advance the pump being its already advanced timing in the pump. The Quadzilla you can work with the timing and set it where you like it to run.
  20. Ummm... The best I can say is stop by a part store and ohm out some new sensors. Fronts are like 1k ohms if I remember right.
  21. Just keep in mind that most MPG mode travel will float in the 1,500 timing bracket. (55-65 MPH). As for the 2,000 bracket that above 70 MPH and MPG numbers start to sink no matter what. So I look at it this way create a good starting point for the 1,500 bracket and then build the rest of the timing map for performance. Then use the cruise timing to for your MPG timing at cruise state. So true as my starting of this I come to find out both my injectors and injection pump was marginal at best and failing shortly after starting into the tuning. No, my failure was not caused from the Quadzilla just to be clear about that.
  22. Not even a concern to me. As long as... You never modify the electrical system, adding grounds, APPS sensor mods, noise filter mods, etc. Test for AC noise during your oil change would be a good time and you deal with the noise issue promptly. I'm going to clear 300k miles on the OEM PCM and ECM. This is only my second VP44. I did lose a ABS module to a bad alternator. So I'm going to keep on truckin' and not worry about it.
  23. Like @dripley points out 5th may shorten up the trailer but 5th do become quite a bit taller and have a larger frontal area and drag. Where bumper pulls are short of the storage but have a lower profile but do become longer.
