  1. I suppose it depends on quality of it, led should draw much but some cheaper china stuff can. To be sure you can get an amp clamp or measure amps on the circuit to be sure. Something like this should work. https://www.amazon.com/BSIDE-ACM91-Auto-Ranging-Temperature-Capacitance/dp/B07G84XDWH/ref=asc_df_B07G84XDWH/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312111908090&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14766244071297198965&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9018631&hvtargid=pla-581003875167&psc=1
  2. If you're worried about burning up quadzilla then the best bet is to disconnect it from power source, from what I was told it doesn't like power spikes. I've use a winch few times on my truck but always had high idle on and good batteries. Even if I jump someone else which only happened once I believe in last 10 years I disconnect the quad to be safe and if you need the jump then most definitely disconnect it.
  3. My terminals are just a loop on a stud, but they're all crimped and soldered not just crimped. And all the other connections I ever came across messing with the truck are soldered that includes when doing WT mod. You can test ac noise yourself, pretty easy if you have a quality volt meter, cheap ones give false reading. Batteries are probably ok if the truck starts with half a crank, but to be sure they need to be load tested.
  4. Quad would be your best bet for a vp truck, that is if you know how to tune it properly. Not saying you don't just some have giving it up because it could be a challenge to figure out. I have one of the early ones from 10 years ago, knock on wood it's been fine. Check electrical things like suggest to make sure something isn't cooking it. Did the first one get warranted out, did they say what the cause was?
  5. My basket is modified but the vent is on the left, gray thing that looks like something should be blumbed in to it. Also what is said above, put a relay to control fuel pump for safety reasons and easy starting. Try next time to turn you pump on for few seconds then shut it off then start the engine then turn fuel pump back on, it won't hurt the vp in that short time. If it starts easy you know the problem.
  6. These pictures were taken shortly after I got done with retrofitting d2s. I got them adjusted much lower now. Top picture you can see cut off line pattern of both headlights (not adjusted property yet) and bottom no hot spots. Both on low beam
  7. I agree, everything seems to be *** backwards these days, it almost seems on purpose too...
  8. I believe that... https://www.google.com/search?q=flying+toilet+carburetor&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjR0ePexuzuAhVugU4HHdWVAuQQ2-cCegQIABAC&oq=flying+toilet+car&gs_lcp=ChJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWcQARgAMgQIABAYOgQIABBDOgIIAFCyqQFYzrABYILMAWgBcAB4AIABVogBlQOSAQE1mAEAoAEBwAEB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img&ei=0MEqYNGpA-6CuuoP1auKoA4&bih=604&biw=412&client=ms-android-google&prmd=isvn#imgrc=L5i7zxUmMGSwFM
  9. Yeah I'm not sure if I'd spend that kind of money on a charger if I didn't have one already and needed at least a 3 bank on the boat, so I spent more to get the 4 bank. Would of gotten at least a 3 bank back in there anyway so I decided to spend $80 to get the 4th bank. Decisions decisions, hope the new one lasts as long as the boat
  10. I had an older mk345pc in my boat and one bank crapped out when we were in canada fishing and generator got hit by lightning at night when it was charging our boats. So later I got a 4 bank charger and been using this one in garage, does equalization mode and can charge different types of batteries. Not cheap but I couldn't use in boat anymore and had a reason to upgrade to 4 bank. I just put alligator clips on the ends to charge whatever I need, it's a maintener too, just leave it plugged in and when fully charged it becomes a trickle charger that comes on automatically. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01ACPM8O8/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1
  11. All these talks about better lights and end result is ok for the most part, I'm glad I spent few more bucks and got the d2s and some cheap housings, did the conversion myself to save by not paying retrofit place, couldn't be more happier with this decision. Not saying I need to see the deer behind trees, just the fact that I can see where I'm going and they are legal makes me happy. I really hated original lights what a garbage, infact most of this truck was garbage until all the mods. Don't get me wrong, the body style is one of a kind, engine is great, then if you got a built auto or a standard etc,.....as is from factory it was ok at best. If it was perfect this forum wouldn't exist. So yeah like anything else it gets better after few beer cans.
  12. No, synthetic just flows better in cold temperature and doesn't brake down as fast. It sounds like you may still have a problem with a pump. I agree, sometimes when slippery I have to correct the steering when rear end slides sideways and if I let off the go pedal it often makes me wonder if the pump will have enough pressure to correct the steering wheel. Few times I had to rev it up just to avoid going in the ditch, bit for the most part it steers fine.
  13. I hate seeing good people get hurt
  14. They must not have flashed it the right way, some call it high idle some call it winter idle, I heard other names for it that I can't remember.
  15. No way man I keep it to patch the truck
  16. My snow blower definitely got a lot of exercise this year and they keep talking chances of snow a few times a week. Temperature's been pretty cold too, dropping back down to negative 20s again brr 0 seems worm now . Not to derail this from the tractor and the snowblower thread
  17. As far as I know yes
  18. here's my cover, I welded some v noches in my front bumper so this price of aluminum slides in and then few screwes on top hold it in place.
  19. I'm not an old fart yet, although I feel that way a lot of times, but I remember about 15 maybe 18 years ago putting a clutch and changing rear main seal in 68 302 mustang 3speed in my step dad's car then taking it for a test drive, man that thing could lay some rubber on pavement. He told me a while back that when he met my mom and she told him she had a son, he said I wasn't sure about you at first, but then I seen what you were in to and you reminded me of myself when I was younger, till now we're best friends it sucks that he's getting old now and limited in what he can do. Plus this cv bs is limiting us in what we usually do, really pisses me off. Oh well life goes on for now.
