  1. PO put in a1 studs in mine, when I did my HG I just cleaned thing up and didn't need to bottom tap. I did ran a tap down the threads and seemed I was pulling too much material out so I stopped and just used carb cleaner and compressed air and shopvac to clean thing up.
  2. Can't a guy drill a 1/4" deep through the hole with a bigger drill bit so the nut sinks a little dipper in to a pulley.
  3. From now on I'll say cheap Chinese knock off for counterfeit and genuine Chinese for legit parts. I guess it's time to except the facts and move on.
  4. Should be around 7-8psi when cranking and 17-20 running. Your wts light comes on every time you start ? Any codes?
  5. Why does box has Chinese all over it, idk hopefully it's a genuine holset. If it's it seems like a great deal and a great hx35 upgrade.
  6. Your pressure should be in 18-20 range no matter what, maybe something is screwed up in return. Sounds like it's a common problem, unless like you said wrong pulley, but wrong pulley if slow at idle it won't go to 25psi when reving it up ether. Tunes are easy to build, first you need to understand what everything does in parameters.
  7. I'd say it's very possible for them to make noise. I had off road truck with traction bars and they made some noise too kinda what you're describing. Make sure everything is tight there I guess.
  8. Hx35 with some hx40 and other holset parts. Compressor housing, you can see bubbles in picture. Oh... OK not sure how I remember anything, you too if asking again Yeah, live in quad city's
  9. In my sig, 62/67/12 xh35/40 hybrid, rv275 may be a bit small, like 100hp may be ok. I personally like my mild combo of 150hp vcos set to 320 bar (probably closer to 300 by now) my custom turbo, same reason my exhaust brake bolts to it with 5 bolts and of course the Quadzilla. Place that did work, http://www.northamericanturbo.com/ found them through someone used to hang out here on the site. Someone recently asked same thing, and then said they didn't offer my turbo, so it's best to call them and ask, Zach is who I delt with. I'm comparing my xh35, I didn't send it in for a core and payed $100 extra, wanted to have a spear plus hx35 in good shape always worth 100. Had a problem sealing compressor housing after clocking it, ended up using rtv on it. Exhaust housing looks a bit older but they said it was thick enough and will be fine for a long time.
  10. Pretty sure it has same 5 bolt flange, I was going to go with it but decided to have one built for more flow
  11. Not sure how k27 compare but he351 probably flows more
  12. I think that migt of been misleading to some that are doing this for a first time. So if someone says no voltage measuring needed with timbo, but let's say when apps is installed and it's in voltage range where it's fueling, because idle screw was too far in, then it can be misleading saying no voltage adjustments needed. Not even sure who said what or pointing fingers, this is what I got from reading some things in this post. A lot of us like to assume conclusions without facts and it leads us on wrong path. Going back to my corner now
  13. Pins in the plug may be backwards, the single plug you put in factory bulb socket. You need an electronic flasher for led lights, any part store should have them.
  14. That too, and few cigars and fishing poles of course
  15. The way I understand you take your module out slide that sump in and install it through the whole of the old draw straw in the top. No holes drilled in the bottom. I believe that thing just sits in the bottom of the tank
  16. Tell me about it lol Colodial silver, Apple cider vinegar, peroxide, baking soda, research all and get well.
  17. That sump looks promising almost like a draw straw only it always sits on the bottom and it should plug your hole from the old straw with that new ionized fitting. What fittings do you need, jic ? have you checked local hydraulic places
  18. You don't need mods for the exhaust for hx35 3" will be ok with mild upgrades. You'll need studs if you start pushing it. With hx35 you're not pushing it. HG will fail from age quicker then hx35. Now if you're drive pressure is way off it may help HG to fail sooner, but for that you'll need lots of fuel and timing. Which without tuner is not easy to accomplish. If you get a tuner Quadzilla with v2 tunenig is the way to go for vp44. Lots to do before then. Not normal, you'll be losing boost at some point. If you get a new manifold I'd suggest a stainless steel in one piece, don't fall for the 3 piece hipe. If you can get a great deal on 3 piece then go for it. My next manifold will be SS.
  19. Hx35 + rv275 no tuner HX35 + 100hp + Quadzilla Some get away with hx35 + 150hp + Quadzilla 62/68/12 or 14 + 150hp to 250 hp + Quadzilla Something like that Your sig says needs a lot to upgrade so I'd think hx35 and a set of rv275 is up your alley for now. Need good fuel supply before you can really start pushing it, and if you keep pushing it you'll need studs too. Really depends on your long term goals.
  20. Yeah we have it, I tried it but later on it was still rusting. Best I found is to cut it out, sand blast, weld, recoat and don't use it in winter
  21. You would think by now there'll be a product cheap and readily available in a spray can or something, that neutralizes rust and keeps it from spreading. I know there are few products out there, but they must all suck or we would all know and use them.
  22. Yes, friend worked for a yard at that time we had some fun there doing stupid stuff along with playing with the car crasher they had. I could never understand that stink and smoke behind one of them truck how that was good for me. What a joke, but go try to talk sense in some of these educated people that make some of these decisions.
  23. That sucks, good thing it was a truck and not a smart car.
  24. So are you going to be forced to get rid of your truck or are they just going to quit selling diesel fuel and you won't have much choice. I mean there is always vegetable oil but who's going to go through all that just to keep their Cummins going, even though it may be a 0 emission vehicle if it ran on vegetable oil. I'm sure few will do it but most will get garbage from china
