  1. A strategically placed piece of wood under the gas pedal ought to do the trick.
  2. Mines been around 30 psi plenty of times and it's only thrown an over boost code once. I'm sure there's a certain amount of time before it sets a code. Also mine didn't turn the check engine light on, only showed up on a scan tool.
  3. Gymkhana Colorado edition? I would replace the U bolts on both sides and takes a good look at the leaf springs for cracks or twists. Should be pretty easy to tell if the spring perches are bent with some careful measurements comparing both sides. Maybe put a straight edge on the axle tube. I wonder if the bearings took any damage getting shocked loaded like that?
  4. It sounds like you have a bad brake hose (soft line) in the front. Basically the hose will swell up on the inside and hold pressure inside the caliper causing the brake to drag. Or a bad hose won't allow pressure to a caliper making the other one do all the work. So replace both front hoses and you might as well rebuild the calipers while your at it. I know you said they're new but that doesn't mean much. I think Mike has an article on the rebuild process.
  5. Both of the front brake hoses looked like that on my truck when I first got it. Baffled me because I couldn't get the tire even close to rubbing turning the wheel in the driveway, even with oversized tires. I replaced both hoses which went on almost exactly like the old ones and it's been fine so
  6. So if you were running a steady 2,500ish rpm and 10-15 psi for about 90 minutes, would you be alarmed about pushing some oil out around the oil cap? Enough to coat that half of the valve cover front to back.
  7. I paid about $230 for the pan and yes it does have a drain hole. Changing the transmission filter and installing a deep pan typically won't fix any any issues you are having. They are simply preventive maintenance.
  8. If the trans is shifting fine I would adjust the bands and put a new filter on when you do the lines. If you have some extra coin get a deeper aluminum pan just because it makes future services so much easier. I have one from Goerend, very nice unit.
  9. Could you take a video of the speedometer while you're accelerating?
  10. This could help answer some of your questions.
  11. I've never been all that concerned or really looked into it but if you come up with a solution let us know because it is annoying. If I get stuck putting through town I normally just turn the controller down some and wait a few seconds before before gassing it at a stop light.
  12. Mine is the same way and always has been. It's especially noticeable in stop and go traffic while towing. I'll take my foot off the pedal and a few seconds later feel the trailer brakes release.
  13. http://www.moparpartsoverstock.com/p/__/SCREW-Pan-Head-19-16x150-SCREW--SCREW--190-16x150/6616050/00154562.html I think that's the screw you're looking for. For the water leak check closely around the third brake light and rear window. Both were leaking on mine but you couldn't see it from the inside.
  14. Yes basically none of that will be needed. Pretty sure I got rid of everything when I installed mine. The draw straw goes in place of the stock fuel lines going into the tank. Then you cut the suction tube as close to the bottom of the tank as you can. Simple and effective. There are a few versions of the draw straw depending on what type of lift pump you run so keep that in mind.
  15. If the top plate of your fuel module and the fuel level sensor are still good then no sense in looking for a new unit. All you need is a draw straw 1 from Vulcan performance for like $70.
  16. If it wasn't for the transmission issues I'd say it's not a bad deal, those can get expensive real quick. Then again these trucks are always going to be money pits.
  17. I wouldn't be concerned, the color just has to do with who made the fuel. Around here it's mostly yellow, some clear. Greenish in other areas. I don't believe winter fuel has anything to do with it.
  18. Loving this project thanks for the update. So you have some pretty cool looking clamps in the pics I haven't seen before. The small panel clamps and the "C" clamps, where did they come from?
  19. I think you just found a use for all the emission stuff guys delete. Just throw on a DPF EGR SCR DEF.... and whatever other three letter acronyms I'm forgetting. You'd have crystal clear drive pressure John Denver himself would be proud of.
  20. It's possible the proportioning valve is acting up. Have you checked if the rod from axle to valve is still there? Maybe some crud got in it when you flushed the brakes?
  21. This song inspired me to write "$5 fine for whining" on a jar and leave it in the break room at work.
  22. I had quite a few filters gel up just sitting there idling when I had the stock lift pump and filter housing. So yes I don't think the factory heater can keep up once the engine is running. Unfortunately it's hard to say what's excessive noise without hearing it. Like Mike said these engines get pretty angry when they're cold.
  23. Fix it now before you end up stranded at a rest stop 100 miles from home in the middle of the night...ask me how I know.
