Buddies 12 V... pure stock, falling mpg
Replacing a solenoid in the transmission has nothing to do with the way the engine runs. It soulds like there is an air leak in the fuel system. Normally the rubber hoses behind the filter are the cause of the leak. You won't see fuel leaking, but the can suck air.

Have the rubber fuel and return lines been replaced?

Need furnace and central air advice
If memory serves me right, the Heil and Tempstar are the same units, just like Trane and American Standard.

Surging power
The first thing I would do is pull the J/A and see what it does. That way you can usually determine if it is there all the time or not. Sometimes the boxes just aggravate an existing condition.

trans rebuild
If you are working with Dave Goerend you are talking to one of the best Dodge tranny guys in the Midwest. Follow his advice and you will do fine.

What type of clutch?
I personally would call both Peter at South Bend and Dan at Valair. Discuss what you want out of your clutch with them and compare their recommendations.

Intermittent no power at the key
Did you check the wiring where it attaches to the left positive battery terminal? There may be a loose/corroded connection there. Next I would recommend you take the plastic of the steering column and check the wiring at the ignition switch.

I didn't figure that you meant the rears...... I have been lucky with the front hubs that I have worked on. They came apart fairly easily!

Looking for some help on how to change a rear wheel hub on a 1996 3500
Fishtails, I sure hope you don't tighten the rear hub nuts like that!!! You will have lots of problems like the axle threads will strip, or the nut will strip if you are lucky, or the bearings will ruin the hub..........

MPG loss towing minimal trailer
Russ, you may find that your trailer will pull a little better when it is level, but your mileage won't change much. The largest factor for towing economy is the wind resistance. I have had two different fiver trailers and the taller they are the less mileage I get. They both weighed about the same too.

Fuel tank size(s)
You guys are trying to rely on the gauges too much. They are not much more than an 'educated' guess like ISX said. You will not find one to be 100% accurate.

Antifreese Conditioner?
Not trying to bust your balls, but drop the "G" on Cummins. However, no you do not need to add SCAs to the antifreeze on a Cummins.

Low boost?
If you really, really want to block off the waste gate, unhook the line and plug it. The problem with that is IF you go over about 35 PSI you are overspeeding your turbo. At 35 PSI your turbo should be spinning as much as 150,000+ RPMs........ When they grenade......well, it ain't pretty and it gets expensive real quick too.

Exhaust Extractor?
They wouldn't be so bad IF the manufacturers would hide them under the box better. I think they look like crap.

Ac work
Sounds to me like either the evap leaks or the connections to it are leaking since you said it started leaking when the new evap went in.l
