  1. Ya know I never thought of that. :banghead:
  2. Then there is a documented history of your problem. Or perhaps its yours. :lmao: http://blog.cardomain.com/2008/12/17/heres-why-you-should-never-run-over-a-mattress/
  3. What is the glitch in the system that always shows this thread on the new posts page for me about every other day even though it hasn't been posted in for about 2 weeks now? Showed last post was an hour ago. EditNow its on top of the list again and showing last post 7 minutes ago and its been an hour since posing last time.
  4. Limited slip will usually chatter or ratchet, never seen one thump.
  5. The screen is in the end of the flow piston. they just don't show an end view of it.
  6. I would still check the other things first as thumps can be very tricky to know where they originate. The fuel tanks don't have a very good baffle system either and these rigs are known for fuel sloshing causing a wierd feeling also at low speed take offs. Make sure the spare tire mount cable is tight I have seen the cable come loose and the tire swings a bit and bangs around also. sounds dumb but it happens. Like I say check all the simple stuff first.
  7. Do you hear the thump or feel it and if felt where is it felt at or through like felt the floor thump or felt the steering wheel thump ect. Will help me narrow it down for ya. After owning three 2nd gens I pretty much know what the culprits can be. Crawl around underneath and check the obvious like u-joints ect, The trans shift linkage that is mounted to the cab to chassis has a shaft that needs grease every once in a while and it will cause a heck of a thump when its dry. You will feel this in the driver side floor board. The lower bushings in the steering column will cause a thump feeling in the steering wheel both will and are usually only noticeable as you describe while creeping along and about impossible to isolate. Also 2nd gen cab mounts have been known to break out of the bottom of the cabs if its ever been used and abused hard. I have never seen it but have heard of it many many times in my area but have never read it on any forum. I guess we are harder on them around here than anywhere else but the was a factory update repair for the issue so it does happen elswwhere I guess. Make sure the front shock mount bolts are tight, I have ran into this on every 2nd gen. they come loose and bang usually the lower bolt is the culprit it will seem tight but it moves up and down in the bolt hole on the axle and can be hard to see. look for fresh movement tracks in the rust ect of the bolt head area Or just cranck them down they can be tight but do not squeeze the shock hard enough and the shock is moving on the bolt causing a thump. I have seen it both ways. Most common is the track bar end is bad and loose where it connects to the frame. This will be noticed more when driving slow also and I would lean towards this being the culprit. Once you have checked all of these I will throw more at ya!
  8. Ok Found the link in a different thread but I think its worth a shot. http://westtexasoffroad.homestead.com/powersteering.html
  9. Check this article out. I did this to my 02 shortly after buying it due to having weak steering in parking lots and short slow speed turns it would stall out. has worked like a dream for close to 100K after doing it and no problems either. I think it will help as the screen in mine was about plugged and it only had 30kish miles on it. http://westtexasoffroad.homestead.com/powersteering.html
  10. Got around 8-10 inches at my place, heavy wet stuff. More to float my pontoon on when it melts.
  11. Get a bunch of cats and ferrets and don't feed them, let em hunt for lunch.
  12. Would be pretty tough to keep them out of the engine compartment if thats where they are nesting. If long term storage i would use dryer sheets spread around as I have had good luck with them. Steel wool tucked into small holes they would enter. Could tape shut other areas like air box intake ect. Just make a not of what you did to what so you don't forget to remove it when its time for use again.
  13. What year is your rig? fill in your sig so we can halp more specifically. If the engine starts and runs then I would think a bad indicator bulb. If it was a no start and the wait to start light doesn't come on then the engine ecm is toast. I learned this the hard way after first buying a smarty. I was in the middle of the country about 30 miles from a town waiting to meet someone and decided to try a different download and all of a sudden the smarty download failed and I had a no start situation. After a few phone calls between Bob Wagoner and then on to Marco the smarty originator in Italy he had it figured out. bad memory card in the ecm. Bob next day aired me oan ecm at no charge.
  14. unhook batteries for a few, hook back up turn key on but do not start, slowly step pedal down to floor and slowly back up, done turn key off then drive it and see.
  15. Dang I forget to go over there. I am a member over there under the same name. Didn't realize it was your site. will have to start hanging out there more again. its been a while.

  17. And another. http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5hk_Iyz0mg2VdJsr9wEZNOgmsK4Pg?docId=CNG.9cac656ee218c88029a4490458898142.3d1 This is rediculous its like they want people to die by not wanting them to at least be prepared just in case, as its looking now we had better be.
  18. Well folks I hope yo took advantage while you had the chance because its tough to find now as its been sold out most places and there are news stories on it now also. http://www.prisonplanet.com/u-s-gove...um-iodide.html http://www.prisonplanet.com/panic-bu...ed-in-u-s.html http://endoftheamericandream.com/arc...-united-states My wife is an Young living essential oils dealer and ordered us some pure organic products from her company and I ordered some from the company below I see they still have it in stock so don't delay if you are on the edge just do it. they are really reasonably priced as compared to most sites also. http://www.greenearthgreenhome.com/poiok85.html
  19. It changes nothing as the OD unit is selectable. You still have the same 1st gear. But you then say that in the next sentence.
  20. :lmao: Same weak shaft then I would guess.
  21. Whats different with a super HX 40 over a regular HX 40?
  22. They are great products and bullet proof also. I have installed a few and Know of one locally who used his rig as a power puller with a gear vendors OD unit installed with zero issues just as an example of the strength of them. Someone else may be able to help with a tail shaft.
  23. 3.99 Bismarck and Mandan ND yesterday.
