Ac work
Knowing what type of gear / tools you have will help in giving advice. The technique is different with different types of ac tools and equipment.

Fuel Economy with the ToyHauler.
Anytime you pull a bumper trailer versus a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer the TT bumper pulls will always pull harder and get less mileage even if they are the same size and weight. Bumper trailers change the rake of the vehicle by squating it further than a 5th wheel where the weight is over the rear axle versus being leveraged down 4 feet behind the axle. Weight distribution hitches help a little and some trailers with the axles centered under the trailer can help but they still do not compare to a 5er or gooseneck.

MPG on 3rd Gen towing more than 7500 lbs
I will let you know what my 05 does on this trip. Has approximately 12K lb's combined trailer with my 02 pickup on it and about another 1K lbs of stuff in the box of the 05 tow rig, Headed out for about a 500 mile trip the next couple days. Smarty JR loaded up on towing setting #2 and will be running around 65-70 mph. Speed limit is 75 but with a big load on a bumper trailer like this I take it a bit easier. Temps will be in the teens to 20's. pretty much flat ground and will report on wind conditions when I getr back. Total weight rolling down the road on this I would approximate it at 20K lbs.I am headed to a pickup Pull in Valley City ND tomorrow night then to a concert my wife wants to see in Fargo the next night. Ryan Bingham a new up and coming country singer.

Fuel System
Totally normal. Nothing to worry about. It is a void they sit in so a wee bit of condensation is what discolors it. As far as the substance its normal for fittings to have a sealer or locking compound on them when they come from the factory.

Can i ask this?
Throttle body problem possibly. Does it smell like it floods when trying to start or does it act like no fuel? I have seen the injectors on the throttle bodies go bad quite often also check the wiring to the injectors.

Are 01-02 Engine ECM's interchangable?
I know for a fct that VIN # is not an issue as I have a different one on my 02 already from Bob Wagner as the second download right after getting a smarty left me sitting along side a road in the country 40 miles from home with a no start. Smarty overloaded my ecm and wiped out the memory card. Bob overnighted me an ecm once we figured out the problem. It was marked as Auto trans only. OK Bob Wagner popped into the conversation over on Comp-D along with another who just tried the same swap only for 01-02 6 speed ecms and they wouldn't work but Bob said he just needs to reflash it to make them work. The engines will supposedly run with the wrong ecm but not all the gauges will funtion.

Are 01-02 Engine ECM's interchangable?
I acquired one from an 01 with an auto so I figured it would work on my 02 auto but just figured I would see if someone had a definate answer. I read on another forum that 01 was a cruise switch year from vacuum to electric and it may not operate the cruise if it came off an early 01 and to plug and play to see if the gauges work. No biggie as I can go to Dodge to get it reflashed if need be.Another forum posted that they are interchangable if both were autos.

Transmission Idea's
I am not quite sure but if you contact Chris Snyder from Iowa he will have info for you, I think he has done several swaps. He will most likely have most of the parts needed for the swap also. http://www.ramboyz.com/

Yesterdays info. Some recap info from day before but mostly new. Lindsey is spot on with his sources as I have followed him via Alex Jones for about 3 years now. I follow several other trends forcasters like Gerald Celente, Webster tarpley and a few others and all are warning of the same things with varying timelines but they usually hit the mark also. This is not posted to be political but just as a heads up to be prepared and plan for the worst but we can be and all need to be informed and hope for the best. You won't get this stuff from the Corporate Main stream media.

Transmission Idea's
NV 4500 is easier and cheaper to fix versus the 5600 and the 5600 is no longer made so parts can be hard to get for them although aftermarket has picked up the slack there now. I would aim you at the 4500 because they are all over and easier to find as chevy ran them also and do the mainshaft update for 5th gear fix and install a billet input shaft if you are looking at more power and heavier clutch. Then you will have a bullet proof tranny.

CA-40 fuel additive
There was a Huge push for that stuff around here a few years ago. Every shop store gas station ect fell for it and it was a very short lived fad as it did not live up to expectations and stated benefits. A lot of places still carry it but I know of nobody who uses it and nobody pushes it. Its just there with all the other snake oils on the shelf now.

Fuel prices thread...
Unless you bought a 2 year supply its not even a drop in the bucket. I'm Listening to whats going on right now, its all been a well planned out agenda. Look for 4-5$ gas by the end of the year. Remember 2008? its going to be way worse and it will last a lot longer. Whats going on now in the Middle East is just a distraction as to what could happen with China and Russia.

Fuel prices thread...
You all think prices are high now just wait for then next few days. With Libya now in uprising the comodities have gone absolutely nuts already this morning. BP is evacuating most of its people from Libya which is the 9th largest oil producer in the world. Every other mideastern country wants to attack Iran and the dominos keep falling on the Mideast, keep an eye on things happening its going to get worse before it gets better.Hold onto your wallets guys its just getting started now.:banghead:

Annoying tick coming from No.6 Exhaust Valve
Setting valves is a "Tolerance" not an exact setting it will change when temps change and there is a safety tolerance determined into the equation a couple thousanths one way or the other isn't going to be detrimental. Do not forget the film of oil that is in between all parts. Like I posted before loosen the adjustment screw all the way and take the push tube out of the pocket and then lay the rocker back and inspect the button for damage.

Annoying tick coming from No.6 Exhaust Valve
Sounds normal to me. I wouldn't stick money into the overhead. There is oil flow in the gaps when the engine is running and the chances of the bridges slapping side to side are nill when under load. Unbolt one and see if it is worn. it is normal to see a wear pattern but if it has grooves or ridges on the button that contacts the calve stem then I would replace it but unless the bridge adjustment came loose and run that way for a long period of time I have rarely seens them as an issue.

scrapping a van question
Be worth more by selling the good parts than scrap price for the individual sale price per pound of metal. Unless you break the tranny housing and heads ect into small pieces and clean the steel out of it so its raw aluminum they will give regular scrap iron price or a discounted price for non ferous metals. same goes for any other type of individual non-ferous metals like brass copper ect. the clean metal brings the premium price versus big assemblies with mixed materials in it.
