  1. I get many referals to Chris at engineered Diesel. Seems most guys say he is the best at turbos and sells parts for any turbo at a more reasonable price than anywhere else. He repairs others turbos ect. Most on Comp D love this guy but alll say he can be hard to get in touch with as they are swamped with work load. He is supposed to be great to deal with technically and will take the time to explain and walk you through doi it yourself turbo repairs also. http://engineereddiesel.com/
  2. Rogan pointed out something for me also. I too use Rockauto.com if its something that I do not need right away or small odd ball parts, if its something that would need to be warrantied like alternators I just warrantied one from my wifes VW or the steering gear I just got for my 05 from O'rieleys I like the local stores so I can carry it in and swap it. Don't like the hassle of shipping large parts around.
  3. Yeah I really feel for you guys up North thanks to the highly corrupt NAFTA system you guys send a majority of your oill down south for us to burn up. And our even more corrupt EPA and current prez won't allow the extraction of new resources especially coal. The rolling blckouts accross the south last week are only the beginning of the problems if the current admin keep on with their adjenda. Because they have shut down several coal fired plants and blocked a big number of new ones being built in recent years.
  4. We have O'rieleys, Napa, Carquest and A local company that has been growing called Hedals now in about 5 states. I have used Hedals for many years to keep the money local but have lately been getting most parts from O'rileys as they are beating everyone elses prices in a big way and they offer lifetime warranty on most parts now also. About the only time I go to Napa is if I am desperate and can't find the part I need and they happen to have it. Never go to carquest as they are located in a goofy area of town and I always forget about them.
  5. Thats correct. On the 03-04 they are mounted in a different spot IIRC under/behind driver side battery on top of the fender.
  6. Your prices look to be about the same as ours and we pump the oil out of the ground about 100 miles from me and there is a refinery right in Mandan ND about 20 miles from me.:banghead:
  7. They require a lot higher pop pressure which the HO pump produces versus the SO pump. The SO pump is lower pressure but can pump a higher volume of fuel. The HO pump produces higher pressure and has less volume and also has more timing advance than an SO pump.
  8. WOW you get too anxious, I don't even think about running any sort of winter fuel until temps get to around 0 or below 10 degrees for an extended period. Then I run either amsoil or schaeffers fuel conditioner and if the temps fall to below zero then I switch over to winter fuel having never gone over a 50/50 blend but we have a special Cenex wintermaster blend with lubricity additives in it already and its good to -35. Before wintermaster came about I usually ran 75/25 at most with additive and have never gelled up in 25 years of driving diesel rigs. As for others I would never add gasoline and Kerosene would be a last resort, There has to be #1 fuel somewheres close by you. most space heaters or hot water pressure washers use #1 diesel fuel.
  9. Sounds like the spool valve stuck and you stripped out a keyway or something. Time to pull the pan off and look and see. Will most likely have to pull the VB out to fix whatever the problem is. There is a small snap ring on the outer shift linkage shaft that needs to be removed for the VB to drop out.
  10. Apps are the same no matter what, Injectors for SO engines are the same and are in rigs with autos and 5 speeds, Injectors in HO engines are different and are in 6 speed rigs only.
  11. Apps is the same no matter, injectors will be the same if its an SO engine autos and 5 speeds, Ho engines had different injectors 6 speed rigs only.
  12. Price jumped 10 cents in one day and winter master is now 3.89 regular #2 is 3.59
  13. And to think the Smarty only lessens the effect of TM, it doesn't turn it off like the BD Rad box or the Blue Chip Redline box.
  14. Old 70-80's chevy trucks came with the 4-53 detroits in them factory so there should be an oil pan that would work to prevent doing a frame crossmember alteration.
  15. I guess I meant to say reflash instead of reprogram the ecm but I have seen several local rigs that just went into the dealer for a reflash and all was well again but it was for other issues in how the engine ran after the superchip programmer was taken off. Didn't matter if it has the latest update they just need to do another reflash.
  16. Get an infrared temp gun and see what the temp is where the sender is. Sounds like a bad senor or bad wire or connection.
  17. 3406 is way too broad.........What model a/b/c and what year or type of truck or piece of equipment is it in. They have been around for many many years.
  18. Last night we had -18 andf tonight supposed to be -25 and the actual wind chills were in the -40--70 range depending on where in the state you were last night. Just 3 days ago it hit a whopping 38 degree.. Around 3-4 feet of snow on the ground here not counting the 10 foot deep drifts behind my house So quit all yer whinin:nono:
  19. I wouldn't swap out a pump unless the factory one dies. But yes 3.3 turn gear box and 3rd gen track bar convert for sure. DSS would be #3 just for piece of mind.
  20. YEP, I have been telling everyone that with all the 2nd gen steering improvements the one that is the best of all is the 3.3 turn box versus the 4.25 turn factory box. Its even easier now that companies finally after 13 years realized this and finally stepped up with more options other than the GM saginaw box which is no longer made and supplies are gone. Which is what I have. Did mine a couple years ago and was by far the best upgrade ever for the entire pickup. Wish I would have done it before spending money on the other pluthera of steering upgrades.
  21. When doing torques that small its always best to use a dial type torque wrench, when a click type wrench snaps at those small of increments it usually messes up the adjustment when it snaps or clicks over. But the band ajustment isn't that overly precision to notice. Biggest thing is to make sure when backing it off and then tightening the locknut that the stud doesn't turn with it.
  22. Here you go http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/p-4731-solid-steel-industries-track-bar-conversion-kit-tbk-94-02-59l-dodge-cummins-25003500.aspx Bolt it on and buy a 3rd gen track bar and bolt it on.
  23. The shadow of the cylider is cast over block B making it the same shade as Block A notice the other blocks are off white rather than grey.
