  1. Sticky gov solenoid valve. Mine does the same thing when its cold out. it will up shift at around 2500+ rpms. I have had the gov valve get sticky on mine in the past and I just removed it and cleaned it when it was time for a service. I just lived with it for a while. Mine does the same thing when it gets cold out but mine is caused by the BD pressure lock vaccuum cylinder getting dirty and slow to react when coming to a stop ect it holds the gov linkage open which hold internal tranny pressures higher and it causes the same issue as a sticky gov valve.I wouldn't add aything extra to the oil. Specific clutch materials can and will deteriorate and or varnish over or slip with a different additve package introduced to it. Take for example the manual trannies and how sensative the synchros are to different oils "they are a mini version of clutch material". same thing goes for auto clutch pack materials.
  2. That was among one of the first trial fixes there was many years ago and like some in the thread stated every rig is different and history has shown that particular fix rendered fewer positive long term results than most other fixes. But it is a zreo cost method to try and do as it will hurt nothing.
  3. DKnaks over on MidwestDC built an adjustable potentiometer style resistor IIRC to do just this and mounted it in with his high idle kit to play with iat reading to do what you are trying but I can't remember his results right off.
  4. They do mount on top on the 3rd gens like the pic shows but the second gen style is still an under frame/axle setup.
  5. Those will only work on the older rigs If you plan on working on anything newer like the 3rd gens and or fords or jeeps that kit will not work. The newer axles take a bigger press because of the shape and angle of the new axle setups. Just a heads up.
  6. That pic is for 3rd gens the second gens still mount under the frame. I have had a set of the early style ladder bars from them and they are about the best investment I have ever made. Tuff country in my opinion is the best bang for the buck as far as traction/ladder bars goes. I have been thinking about a set of those but don't think they would be as effective as the bottom mount ones so have held off on them for now.
  7. unless you have a BD pressure lock on it you are putting the power to it before you have given it enough throttle to move the governor lever on the tranny far enough to start increasing the internal pressures and thus potential of slipping cluthces.
  8. You can adjust the TV cable to adjust shift points but adjusting it so it shifts sooner especially if towing can be a really bad thing.
  9. Bigger injectors can and will cause it to start a bit harder as it gets colder also. My 02 with the 150 bd injectors is not a happy camper if its under 10*F and not plugged in, I some times have to try it a couple 3 times and crank for a while and multiple grid heats to get it to fire up and run. When it had smaller injectors in it wasn't an issue.
  10. Almost all will clear the key cycle counter back to zero when changing program back to stock except for smarty. That is how easy it is for them to see it had a programmer installed. Smarty doesn't leave any traces behind either as superchips will leave markers behind in the ecm programming and they can see that also. Take the superchip and throw it as far into the weeds as possible and don't look back, I have seen more issues that they cause versus good they do.
  11. Wish I had a camera 2 winters ago I was seeing -36 to -38*F on the way home from working midnight shift one morning.
  12. Last night I took a very low quality pic with my cell phone of the temps on the way home. Got a pic of - minus 18*F actually saw it go to minus 21 once but couldn't get a pic in time.
  13. Thats not going to be wise advice with his new 75 hp injectors. New turbo won't last long when he starts pulling hard not to mention high egts he is trying not to deal with by installing a h2o meth system already.
  14. For My HPFP 150 FASS I only used 3/8 line all the way from tank to filter and it is just slipped on and hose clamped to the nipple and no tank removal was necessary. The only thing I installed was the bigger fuel bowl fittings and the vp44 fitting and the 1/2 inch line from fuel filter can to vp44. Never had an issue in the 6 years its been on there.
  15. Schaeffers is a super high quality product. Along with Amsoil, Petro Canada is another with very high quality products. I have been running schaeffers soyshield fuel additive for years and love it.
  16. There have been times when I got better milage driving into a side wind rather than driving with a side wind.
  17. Dear Santa!
  18. But what about going 75 with a 25 mph tail wind?
  19. What type of trailer Gooseneck or bumper pull? How long is the trailer? Like posted above was it #2 or winter blend fuel?
  20. From my experience with cam wear and or failures, it is not the oil itself that damages cams it is improper adjustments of valves and contaminants namely soot in the oil that drastically shortens the life span of all the moving parts. If he had big injectors in it and did not run a bypass filter I would venture to guess that soot levels in the oil got pretty high.
  21. Was it a a Dodge dealer and hooked to a DRB analyzer while it was missing? Scan tools will not help, it needs to be hooked to a data analyzer with a data logger so it can be palyed back through the event and they would be able to look at what every single electronic device is reading during the actual miss. Looking for codes is worthless that is why it needs to be data logged for an issue like this.
  22. You mean to tell me you stuck thousands into it and have never paid 60-80 bucks if that much for a Dealer "DRB" dodges electronic diagnostic tool annalysys? To answer your question Yes it being a Dodge dealers DRB would have the best chance of anything to isolate it.
  23. And the gov is wanting to double the federal fuel taxes at the pumps now.
  24. Just replaced my OEM batts in the 02 120k miles, in cold weather they were getting weak and after cold startups in the morning it would intermittantly miss until the grids quit cycling. This issue was cured with the new batts. Had a hunch about it and it was a good one as I proved my hunch true after knowing the miss is now gone during cold starts. Figured the alt couldn't keep up with draw and the voltage to the vp44 was getting low causing a miss.
  25. Been around 3.35 lately for #2 and 3.60 for winter blens central ND. Heard that all prices were going up about a dime as of yesterday and today as crude oil prices have climbed.
