  1. ?????????????????????????????? What did I miss here?
  2. My 02 warms up fast in the summer and is fairly good when cold also I think the extra fuel helps out a lot, but my 05 takes about 10-20 miles to get up to temp summer or winter.
  3. If you have ever seen a Belarus tractor you will see that they do not have oil filters on their engines, nothing but a slinger.
  4. The centrifical oil slingers work well but what most people do not realize is that they do not extend the useful life of the oil, they merely keep it cleaner. The additives in the oil are designed to bind to contaminants and when the slingers seperate the "Sludge" from the oil the oil additives are seperated with it. Another bit of info you probably won't find anywhere else, Info I have picked up by having the opportunity to have taken several Oil and filter courses over the years.
  5. You need to call the shop back and find out what they put in it for a converter and what the stall speed and efficiency % is. If they put a stock spec converter back in, it would explain the feeling you have.
  6. I have a TDI heater on my wifes VW, They are a circulating tank heater about 2 times the size it needs to be realistically, but it pretty much keeps the entire cooling system at about 180 degrees. There is hot air at the vents even at -20 when you first start it.
  7. Yep next week highs in single digits all week, I just broke down and replaced my OEM batteries in my 02 a couple days ago as I could tell theyn were getting weak in the cold. Heard my High idle kick in a few days ago for the first time but mine sits plugged in most of the time when it gets this cold as I never know when I need to run out. At work we have electrical posts at every parking spot and so it sits plugged in all day there also, Its nice working right next door to an electric generating power plant.
  8. Seeing it is not as bad as hearing it in a face to face conversation, As you may suspect......I DO CORRECT people when needed!
  9. How often do you change all other fluids? Is the premium blue a synthectic or syn blend or a full carbon based oil? I do not like the term dino as I believe that the earth produces oil and it is not "Dino" based I can't remember the term thats used to describe the earths productionof oil right off.
  10. You must have seen all my vehicles. The driver side of my wifes VW is so scratched up from the Dogs running out to greet her when she gets home its sickening and both my pickups have the box and tail gate scratched up pretty bad from that also. But I wouldn't change that for the world, paint is replaceable the life experiences that the companionship of good dogs is not.
  11. What do you do with your rig and how often do you change all the fluids? Some people like to live with what the oil companies and dealers like to preach to keep the money rolling into their pockets. Spend it if ya got it I guess.
  12. Also start with the basics, Remove the driveshafts and check all the u-joints and hanger bearings. Edit after reading your last post again I would check for codes as It almost sounds like an engine related issue.
  13. You guys all act like you have never seen a ranch pickup before, That was a really common site when I worked at the truck shop years back. Not uncommon to find near new vehicles look like that within a years time. If you go to farm and ranch auctions you can pick up rigs that look just like that all the time around my area. As far as the second video that is fairly common also. All it takes for a filter to get that dirty is to fill up at a station at the same time the tanker is filling their tanks. It stirs up all the dirt in the tank and then you directly pump it into your tank. CR engines are known for spitting rods when the piston melts down due to bad injectors.
  14. You just contradicted yourself and now can not be helped.............................
  15. My vote goes to finding an 06-07.5, with the 5.9 yet.
  16. On my 99 it had a little green light on the rear view mirror that indicated the security was armed when you locked it with the remote. There is a receiver that you could look for but I can not remember right off where it is. You can get the key fobs from other sources but MOPAR has a little thing that will only allow for the programming of IIRC 2 FOBS, if there have already been 2 more programmed other than the 2 it came with I think the dealer then has to reset things. Found this out the hard way with an 03 Jeep Liberty we bought and only got 1 FOB then the wife lost one and we could only get 1 more programmed as we found out the previous owner already did one then the dealer would charge a lot more for a reset.
  17. Tell him to get it out of that shop ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not let them touch it at all and have him find a shop with someone working at that has a clue.
  18. Here is a web site that will keep you on top of all worldly developments including earthquakes. http://hisz.rsoe.hu/alertmap/index2.php
  19. 2000 may have been the switch year:shrug:, I know for a fact that 99 autos have HX on them as I have 2 friends with them.
  20. I run Amsoil bypass filters on both my pickups, my 02 has an amsoil dual remote oil filter head and I run an amsoil full flow on it also. My 05 I run only fleetgaurd filters fuel and oil. My TDI Jetta gets all Hastings filters.
  21. Its teeth are still in too good of shape to be a true "METH" lab.
  22. [quote= is this the case with all the HY35 turbo's or is it just some of them.....it seems like i remember there being a difference between the 6-speeds & the automatics or something?
  23. Just got the new Genos garage rag today and they now carry the upgraded SB Slave cylinders http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo.asp?number=HYD-X-1.50
  24. Makes me glad to live where I do........................No rust:woot:
  25. You don't know how true the statement you made actually is. I have sat through several filter seminars through the years by a few different makes. Latest being a fleetgaurd. The best teachers are those who are not salesmen are brutally honest. All the numbers in the world that all brands claim on oil filters mean nothing if it can't handle the flow requirement of the system. I will go no further into this as it is just to give something to think about and I can open a whole arguement here. Fuel filters are a different scenario. I am talking oil filters only.
