  1. The alternator pulley slipping on the belt at shut down is what I was always told back when mine used to do it. Has not done it in a long time.
  2. I did my gasket about 140k ago. Just slipped on the cover and bolted it in. No silicone. It has recently got a little weepy and I will have to replace in the near future. As I remember the oe had no silicone on it. The old gasket just came off, no evidence of silicone.
  3. The wife appears as happy as the truck is new. May you both enjoy.
  4. Does a billet cover make the gasket seal better?

    ROTFlmao!!!!!
  6. Cant help with the quad, but welcome. You are in good hands.
  7. My clutch pedal was shiny metal. I f you look above the pedal you will get an idea of how shiny it was. Wore it out 100k+ miles ago. The brake pedal bottom right corner was gone. It was hard as a brick. Figure I will run these until the clutch wears down and then swap them and get double the mileage, and who knows maybe double the HP.
  8. Been looking for this one. 20 more cheap horse power. You would not believe it. 24 bucks and I am in love.
  9. I understand and have probably been guilty of that. My only symptom was groaning while turning. That is when I noticed it was PS fluid I was losing. I have a couple of oil leaks but this was adding to it. Noticed oil spots on the drivers side I had not seen before also, but the brakes were functioning as they should. So our issues are not the same. Maybe the PS pump, dont know. Wish I could help more.
  10. Are you talking about the grid heater solenoids? Are you talking about the grid heater solenoids?
  11. It can get knocked off anytime you are playing around under the hood.
  12. @BBHD did really. Just helping. See above my post.
  13. You need to tag him. Hit the @ and then type his screen name. And it looks like this @Mopar1973Man . When you type in a few letters his name will pop up and select it. Or just quote him. He will get a notifacation.
  14. NEW air hammer??? New to you or new design?
  15. Nothing wrong with anti sieze on surfaces. Dodge should have done on the assembly line. Mine come effortlessly now. I learned about the PS method long after I did mine. It seems the BFH was the preferred method back then.
  16. Wish I could send you some rain we are getting. We have an over abundance out this way. Flooding in some areas. Me, I am just getting wet.
  17. My unit was staked and you cannot replace those seals without removing the rod. It took me longer to remove and replace the booster that it did to reseal it. I did not mess with the accumulator, it seems to still be working fine. It took about 7 strokes to bleed the pressure off.
  18. When the WTS light is delayed the engine will not crank. The ECM turns on the fuel system when it lights. At least everyone I have seen with that issue has experienced that. It is a sign of damaged ECM. But with your cable issues and most likely weak grounds, I would work thru those issues and pray that helps. Our electrical systems are pretty finicky about that kind of stuff. Next time the light does not light right away wait until it does light and see if fires right off.
  19. I just did mine and for the most it is quite simple. And you dont need 75% of what comes in the Pirate kit. Resealing the shaft from the brake pedal is the hard part. Due to thunderstorms and having to leave the next day I did not mess with the shaft. Maybe another day for that but so far the shaft is not leaking even though I did not do a thing to it. The only internal seals I replaced were between the 2 case halves and the seal in the bore for the power piston. There was also a seal between the master cylinder and booster that I replaced. Best I could it was leaking from both of the those seals. For now it is leak free and works fine. Seems this is the one that @01cummins4ever linked also. At the bottom of page 2 Hag shows what he did to get the rod out. I just did not have time for that. I got alot catching up to do when I park this thing for a new head gasket.
  20. Later this year I hope. Good to hear. Work your way thru it before buying parts, especially expensive ones.
  21. I figured the truck did not appear to be going anywhere soon. So........................
  22. I like sealed everything. It makes me smile. I even found new old stock sealed u joints for my drive shaft. If these are only half as good as the oe they will last longer than I need.
  23. Silicone works good for things like that. We use it for putting bug screens in things that dont have one. Put down a bead, press in the screen, and let it cure. Not much different than hot melt for install.
  24. If you want to I can put on mine and make sure it works.
