  1. Yes. Keep your cold air intake money for something else. The pictures are bit blurry to see. If the pump is mounted on the block just behind the fuel filter I would say it is a stock style pump. It is worth upgrading to something better including larger fuel lines. 3/8" at the minimum. Just depends on your goals.
  2. How much were said mirrors? I bought my truck with the the tow mirrors, manual. I did like them but they were a pain to get adjusted. I broke one of them about 2 years after buying the truck and the replacement was $275 just for the manual mirrors. Needles to say I lived with the broken for a long time. The ones I have now came from 1aauto that cost about 150 bucks for the pair, power and heated. Not the best but much better than what I had. Got to replace them here in the near future and just curious.
  3. I would second BHAF and the intercooler does a fine job of cooling the air on its own.
  4. Its things and folks like this that make this place what is. This has helped go 500k+ miles and 18.5 years of driving and still have confidence the truck will make it to wherever I have to go. My hats off to everyone.
  5. Just put a new one in. I swear between the new dash and later the bezel l got 30 more hp. Then l put new brake and clutch pads on the pedals and got 20 more!!. Cheap power.
  6. The inlet on the VP has a test port to check the pressure. Just asimple schrader valve. Factory anyway. Most auto parts store will loan them for a deposit. The key has an arrow on it that points to the front IIRC. Next time you speak to BC you might ask what the symptoms would be if it is backwards.
  7. Is the key for the pump installed pointing the right direction? Have you spoken with Blue Chip about it? Could possibly be a bad pump. How is the fiel pressure from the lift pump?
  8. I run a quart over in mine. Penzoil snchromesh. My temp sensor is located on the passenger side, bottom hole on the fast cooler. Read a good bit about and figured it could not hurt anything. I did not have data to compare whether the extra made any difference though. Yours does seem to run warmer than does. Though I have seen my tranny temps upwards of 220* in mountains. I will downshift to 5th to overcome them. What tire size are you running? 265 75 17's on mine. Yeah, I forgot about your smaller tires. That is a valid point.
  9. Happy your trip mostly un eventlful. Sorry I missed on your way thru. Sounds like we will have some opportunities though. I have towed mine in 6th its entire life. I didnt have tranny temp gauge back in the but but i did just fine otherwise. I could pull about 1.5 to 2% grade at the max but it stil do it with out the throttle being on the floor. I would try a keep throttle about half way down when loaded in 6th. Did this with first with a 12k then 15k pound trailer grossing around 20k and 23k. The only time my cooling temps varied much was in the hilly country or a good pull across the Blue Ridge. Working the truck hard in mountains I could reach 200* to 210* but that is still in the safe zone per Cummins IIRC. After getting a tranny temp gauge I ran temps of around 180 to 190 on roads like the I 95 corrider between Florida and NJ. The only time I saw higher temps was in the mountains woking the truck hard and could hit 200*+ on the tranny. That was the only temp that ever bothered me when I was towing. Most all of this was on RV275'S and a Banks tuner. The tuner would defuel the engine if EGT'S got to 1250* or 1300*. The rated at adding 75 rwhp. I later added an Edge Comp but only towed on on level 2 or 3. Had to watch the egt gauge a bit closer with that set up but it still worked well. I added fast coolers to mine a good while back prior to the temp gauge. So what difference it made in mine l dont know. 5th gear would run cooler on on the other temps I could read but I never felt I was in a danger zone while using 6th for the most part. I guess all I am saying is that I have always towed in 6th wothout any issues but did not run WOT while doing it.
  10. My experience doing this mod was very good. Prior to it the batteries would be slightly moist on top, not always but maybe 60% of time. This would cause the corrosion on the terminals also if I did'nt put some motor oil on them. This was on the factory set up. Since I did the mod with the charge wire on the aux battery they have remained dry 95% of the 2.5 years since I did it. And to this day Inhave put nothing on my terminals and they are corrosion free. I am going to see how long they go. The other benefit is the ac voltage drop I saw was from .035 to .010. I cant why batteries are less gassy from the mod I just know that the system seems happy with it. I ran a #4 wire between the negative posts on the battery with a stock alternator. But you could as big a wire as you want but you dont need any bigger cable than your + is. WT ran a lot big wire on connecting the batteries together on his but if you look at the electrical demand he puts on his truck, I can understand why. Now if l had to explain the why's and whefore's of all of this, I cant. I just know it works well on my truck. Details l will leave to the more electrically educated here.
  11. @Evan ordered a turbo for his 2nd that turned out to be one for a 3rd gen. Some modifacations were involved to make it. I will leave that explanation to Evan.
  12. It appears you can replace it to me. Whether or not you have to pull the cam I dont know. The crank tone wheel can be pulled since it is 2 pieces. Maybe the o e on the cam is too. There is a possibillity the cam sensor you installed is bad. It does happen occasionally. Here is picture of my gear and you can see the fasteners that hold it on. Appears to be 3 of them screwed in from the back of the gear.
  13. Its just tone wheel maybe. If that was the problem think l would just replace it though l have no idea whats necessary to do that. But p pump. I think not for me.
  14. No. An 02 has no crank sensor so no tone wheel on the crank. The cam sensor does the work of the crank sensor on an 02.
  15. They both hold a VIN number. But if yours are working mixed with the other 2 it sounds like you are one of ones that have no issue with vins not matching.
  16. Vulcan performance could sell you the fittings separately, maybe DAP also. Not sure it would be any cheaper just over the fuel hose though.. I plumbed my AD straight to the filter and added a big line kit from Vulcan.
  17. This could be part of your problem. A wiring issue or computer issue. As far as your lift pump, where did you swap the relays, in the PDC? I ask because the in tank pump most likely has the relay and the fuse for the pump on the firewall. Thats where Dodge put mine. It is possible the fuse on the pump blown also. Was the first pump running when you saw 0 psi?
  18. Dang, I must drinking the same thing. Took a minute to see thru that one.
  19. Have you checked for any trouble codes? A bad crank sensor can make your truck undriveable but should not affect the fuel pump.
  20. I always liked that picture, its amazing the weight you have sitting behind the wheels. I have had 5k in my bed but it was brick and i got the load over the axle and forward. You could not really tell it was in there from just looking. Drove pretty normal and it really smoothed out the ride.
  21. Good to hear. Still running today?
  22. Just depends on whether the dealer has someone smart enough to deal with the old technology. Some seem to have no clue or no habla when convenient. All you can is ask them. Almost forgot this part, their fee.
  23. Much easier to do that with the knob on the door though, dont ya think. I am near the limits on mine but it sure beats leaning across the seat to adjust. Now if I can just remember to flip up the passenger side before I get in the truck. By the way how is the potato farming this year?
  24. Yes I do. Go rent a pressure washer and put it in the bed. Then drive until you have to slam on the and the pressure will knock them both into the front seat. Thats only time I had mine out. All kidding aside, i dont know. I dont even remeber how I got them back in. Still cant believe it didn't break either one of them.
  25. By mixing l mean pcm off of one and ecm off of the other. I know you mean keepi g them in pairs but if one fails you might have to mix them and thats when the VIN match might be a problem. Maybe maybe not though.
