installing a fuel boss
When I first installed the Fuel Boss a small piece of rubber became stuck in the by pass valve with similar results that you experience. My fuel pressure was16-17psi at idle and 18-19psi when cruising. Over time the idle pressure has slowly dropped when first started from 16psi to now a pressure of 12psi when cold. As soon as the RPMs come off idle the pressure jumps to 17-18psi. After 5 minutes of driving the idle pressure is 14-15psi. This pressure is measured pre-fuel filter. Adding shims won't help. Now your by pass valve is opening at 17-18 psi and adding shims will only increase the pressure it takes to open the by valve. The lower pressure will not be effected.

Lockup switch curiosity
I've installed a manual lockup system in my truck and JAG1's truck. It uses a momentary switch that is install in the shifter to activate a set of relays that ground the convertor lockup solenoid. The lockup can be turned off by either pushing the momentary switch again or stepping on the brake peddle. When going down a long or steep grade a locked-up torque converter helps in slowing although without the added benefit of an exhaust brake. A foot switch is incorporated in the system that locks up the convertor which will stay locked until the switch is pressed again so stepping on the brake peddle will not disengage the lockup. When the torque converter is locked up with either momentary or foot switch an LED light on the dash is lit so there is no doubt if the manual lockup override is on or off.

P1689 P0215 assistance
1. Pin # 85 of fuel pump relay is ground. Ohm test wire for continuity. If good go to next. If open circuit, repair wire. 2. Pin #30 of fuel pump relay is battery voltage (12+ volts) all the time. If good go to next. If no voltage check fuse # 3 (25amp) in PDC. 3. Pin #87 of fuel pump relay is switched power (12+ volts) from relay to pin #7 of the fuel injection pump. Ohm test the wire from fuel pump relay pin #87 in the PDC to socket #7 in the in fuel injection pump connector for continuity. If good go to next. If open circuit, repair wire. 4. Pin #86 of fuel pump relay is used to energize the relay solenoid with voltage (12+ volts) from pin #36 of the ECM. Check for voltage at pin # 86 position in PDC. When key is turned on, voltage (12+ volts). If no voltage, ohm test wire for continuity. If open circuit, repair wire, If circuit good, then there is no fuel pump relay signal (voltage) from ECM. 5. Bypass relay to test injection pump by using a jumper wire in fuel pump relay socket between pin #30 and pin #87. The engine should start if every thing else is good.

Nickel dimeing me
All this with less than 100k on the clock. A full set of gauges so I can see what may brake next, 4" s/s exhaust, five lift pumps, the last two being a $600 Fuel Boss with a $110 Airtex backup, rebuilt transmission @ 60k, replaced heater core, a VP44 replacement, two starter motors, diodes and brushes in alternator, need a new dash, and I won't count the tires, brakes, batteries and belts (normal wear). I'm keeping mine so I can spend my kids' inheritance.

What are these for?
That sensor, impact sensor 56006911, is used in 1994-1997 Dodge Rams and the wiring diagram for a 2001 ram 2500 does not show them. If that broken sensor was used by the SRS the airbag fault light would be on. Did you have those inner fenders replaced with used parts?
-
What are these for?
One air bag , two air bags, or more, it doesn't matter. Theses are the crash sensor that send a signal to the SRS (supplemental restraint system) controller that a significant impact has occurred and the air bag(s) are to be inflated. If the Impact zones covered by these sensors are: the left front, the front, and the right front.

What are these for?
Left front and right front air bag (SRS) crash sensors.

Starting an engine that has been sitting 1 year
I have a set of Gates hoses under the back seat for spares, they're from Rock Auto. Geno's also sell these. Rock Auto also have the Dayco brand .

Starting an engine that has been sitting 1 year
You might want to crank it some and get the oil moved around before starting it. Sitting for a year I'm sure most of the oil is in the pan. If you're going to change the oil wait till after you start it. You my also want to check the condition of the engine coolant, not just the strength of the antifreeze but also its Ph.

installing a fuel boss
I left the stock fule return line alone and used the metal fuel feed line that goes from the teak to the location of the factory mounted lift pump as the return line for the Fuel Boss. I used a small tube cutter and cut off the ends of the line. The bypass valve / pressure regulator was attached at the end previously used for the lift pump and the other to the T fitting installed in the filler neck. I put a cheap lift pump, Airtex, in the mix. I have electric fuel pump run by a relay but the fuse is pulled so the ECM closes the relay but the fuel pump doesn't come on. When my VP44 went out on me I pulled the relay and jumpered the contacts for pin #30 and #87. This turned on the pump and primed the new VP with out cranking the engine. Mike saw how I did it.

Endurance tires by goodyear
Well it about time Goodyear made a decent trailer tire but the tire has been on the market for only 8 months so it's a little premature if they hold up in the long run. . I've been using the MAXXIS M8008 ST radial tire since 2004. The first set came with the trailer and lasted 9 years before dry rot took them out. I replaced them with another set of the same. The trailer just went on a 5,200+ mile tow with no tire problems. Amazon is selling the 225/70R-15 Goodyear Endurance for $145.87 per tire x 4 = $583.48. https://www.amazon.com/Goodyear-724857519-ST225-75R15-117N/dp/B076B4XM71/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1508198647&sr=1-1&keywords=goodyear+endurance+225%2F75r15 Amazon is selling the 225/70R-15 MAXXIS M8008 ST for....$115.97 per tire x 4 = $463.88 https://www.amazon.com/Maxxis-M8008-Radial-Trailer-Tire/dp/B004QL6I0U/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1508198814&sr=1-2&keywords=maxxis+trailer+tires This is a savings of $119.60. With a savings like that you can get 5 MAXXIS tires, a new spare also, for the price of 4 Endurance. Just my

Dying ECM?
Pins #3 and #9 are not used by the injection pump that is why there are no female terminals for those pins in the connector. If you pull back the rubber covering to the connector you'll find no wires for those pin positions.

post brake and wheel bearing job
All you replaced was the front brake rotors and pads. You also replaced the left front wheel bearings, inner and outer. You didn't have that clunk before you did this job? So it must be some thing you removed and reinstalled. Wheel bearings make a grinding noise as they destroy themselves if in stalled wrong. Brake calipers and mounting brackets are bolted on and tightened to a specific torque. As long as the bolt holes are not hogged out there should be no movement. That levees the brake pads. I've had, on more that one occasion, brake pads that were a few thousands of an inch to small and would shift back an forth in the caliper making the noises you have described when changing direction.

Madness...
Experts warned Congress this week that an EMP attack by North Korea with a nuclear electromagnetic pulse bomb has the potential to kill 90% of the U S population in one year. The loss of the electric and communication grids along with the shutdown of transportation, water and sewer would cause wide spread famine and disease across the country. This would set the U S back to post colonial life with Lewis and Clark. Climate change doesn't look so bad now, does it?

Madness...
With man made climate change*, it's never to early for snow. Don't forget to do your part to reduce your carbon footprint. 1. Car pool with a stranger. 2. Heat your home with warm thoughts. 3. Don't eat beef, Eat more chicken. Cattle consumes large amounts of feed and produce a large volume of methane gas, a known greenhouse gas, were as chickens eat dirt and are gasless. 4. Buy your man made carbon credits to pay the State mandated man made carbon tax. *previously known as global warming I let that last guy drive my truck. All I got back was a couple of washers.

Fuel line question
Top is the brake line, middle return to tank, bottom is fuel supply. With the Fuel Boss pump I use the fuel supply line as a return line T into the filler neck.

Howdy everyone, it's been awhile.
Good to hear from you again. Glad all is well. After the last go around of storms and flooding you raised your house up off the ground. How's that working out for you?
