  1. Thanks for the pics. Looks like a trip to remember. Don't forget the souvenir refrigerator magnets; they help keep the memories fresh.
  2. Have a fun, safe trip. Six in an SUV for over 1,000 miles...I hope the windows go down.
  3. Price of diesel in Bridgeport, CA is $7.699/gal. Fill up at Quik Stop, 360 US Highway 95A S, Farnley, NV. $5.54/gal.
  4. Great, have fun. It's forecasted to be 38°F high with a low of 19°F and PM snow showers at the campground tomorrow night.
  5. Where are you meeting him? I thought it was in Fernley, NV which is only 1 hour away.
  6. Check the connector between the cab and frame on the left side of the truck. The signal from the rear speed sensor is very low AC voltage. Above is the voltage reading at 45 MPH. The voltage reading never went above this value even at 75MPH. I have seen old brake master cylinders go bad after bleeding the brake system using the brake pedal method.
  7. The speedometer signal goes from the rear sensor to the ABS controller to the PCM to the speedometer. The transmission sensor does not factor into this. This could be an ABS controller problem. A falling pedal can be a brake master cylinder, weak brake hoses but you replaced those, or a leak but you did not mention a fluid loss. A booster would affect all brakes with lack of assist rather than a falling brake pedal. The proportioning valve affects the rear brakes only, there are none for the front brakes. Does the truck have front brake ABS sensors? Pleas fill out your signature, so we know what year and model truck it is.
  8. Lots of food. Not to worry. I'm bringing enough food for 4 dinners for 5 people plus breakfast burritos and some hot dogs on the grill for lunch. Let's not forget about desserts; I bring the pie and @JAG1brings the ice cream.
  9. You get what you pay for in this world, well most of the time. Look at it this way, I applied it once 17 months ago; with a cheaper product I might have had 6 "restore" treatments to have the same outcome. So, would you rather be applying a back to black product or doing something else with your irreplicable time.
  10. All my parts were off the truck when I did them but no, you don't need to tape anything off.
  11. Now you can call it an adventure vacation. I hope you brought enough for everyone.
  12. I vote for keeping as many teeth as posable. You have only 32 or 28 if the wisdom teeth have been removed. I'm 69 and have all my teeth even the wisdom which didn't make me any smarter. I see the dentist twice a year for checkups. The last checkup the x-ray showed a problem where a tooth root and bone met, and a root cannel was needed. So off to the endodontists for the root cannel. No pain and still have all my teeth.
  13. I used a product called Cerakote on the truck trim when I was putting it back together after the body work and paint. I applied it in January of 2021. This is what it looks like after exposure to the sun 17 months later. driver's doorhandle trim under driver's side window I told a friend about Cerakote and this was his email back to me after using it in April. He sent some pic of his truck after it was applied "Hi Dan, Forgot to tell you that the CeraKote I used on my Ranger gave stunning results. Some of my trim was turning pretty chalky white. It looks like I had it all resprayed black. Literally good as new. Thanks for the tip, and as always, “your check is in the mail”. John"
  14. Clean the area really well where the race would be pressed into the hub. If it looks like the race is pressed in, a thin line between the race and the hub, then try beating it out with a hammer and a long drift.
  15. Can you remove the bad race and find the numbers on it?
  16. Bring some guns. We'll be target shooting one day at the local range. NO AR15s or AK47s; they're to evil looking and not allowed here.
  17. They don't allow ATVs in the campground unless, and this is not written down, you are handicapped and have a handicap placard to prove it. An old friend of ours, who was handicapped, would bring his golf cart. This is from the Mono Village website Accommodations, Camp Sites, Campground Amenities "All 2, 3, & 4 wheel recreational vehicles are prohibited for personal use within Mono Village. Violators will be evicted with no refund." Years ago they had problems with some bad apples drunk and racing around the campground and a another time little kids were operating the smaller ATVs running in to things and getting hurt.
  18. That makes sense but I never saw that until a few, maybe 10, years ago. So, sell a little larger bucket that will hold 128 oz of paint plus the tint.
  19. Wow, the last place I saw one of those was in Ekalaka, MT about 4 years ago. May be their tanks are leaking. Need to report that. Haven't heard about that but Costco's Kirkland brand t-p use to be 425 sheets to a roll and are now 380 sheets, about an 11% reduction, and a cost of 32% more. Ice cream use to come in half gallon, 64 ounce, containers then a few years back Then they reduced the size to 56 ounces, 12.5%. Now the container is labeled 1.5 qt. That's 25% less but the price is the same. The house paint I buy (BEHR) use to be $11-12/ gal, now it's $19-21/ gal and have you noticed that the paint companies have redefined how many ounces there are in a gallon. They reduced the size from 128 ounces to 124 ounces, about 1%, and still call it a gallon. With that type of thinking automobile manufactures could reduce the length of a mile from 5280'. With a shorter mile they can claim greater fuel milage.
  20. May be they just want to water their fuel down so the profit margin is greater and/or they don't want to spend the money on a better tank. system.
  21. Those are the prices we've been paying since March. At least your gas prices are a dollar a gallon less than here. By the way Sams Food Store at 55 MAIN ST, Centerbrook, CT has diesel for $5.989/gal; better get it while it's cheap Let's go Brandon
  22. @Tractormanand you were doing a fine job discussing this issue. If I had injected may into this conversation that's about what it would be worth. Sometimes it's better to sit back, eat popcorn, and watch the show. That one of the great things about this forum: top notch info, help, and exchange of views without the trolls.
  23. The Russian Ministry of Peace tells the Ministry of Truth tells the proletariat. It's the same in China and what they would like to do here.
