Recently I installed gauges in my truck with the suspicion that it had a low boost issue. After installing the gauge I have a peak of 16psi with my xzt+ module turned on. From the research I gathered it should be a minimum of 22 psi+. Last year I performed a leak test and didn’t discover any boost leaks, but I plan performing another test to make sure. The truck overall just doesn’t have the power it should. It never smokes, and the check engine light has come on in the past for a crank position sensor, but is off now. Just looking for suggestions on the low boost issue and lack of power. I was curious if the waste gate might be open, but figuring it does buil…

How and why is an rv275 injectors supposed to get better mileage than stock injectors?

Hi, new member here. I am diagnosing a no crank problem for the last few months. Turn the key and nada, no clickity click, nothin. the first 19 times, i tapped the starter with a steel bar and it'd start then start normally for a week or so. . I dont think tapping actually had any effect now, i did think it was the starter. but starter works great. maybe a relay going bad and a few seconds to reset ? the 20th time, i had to hotwire the starter solenoid and it fired right up, then it worked a few more times like normal. now, after the 21st time,, i have to hotwire the solenoid each time i go to start. I checked the voltage at the reverse/neutral s…

  4. Injector pop pressure and it's possible affect on mileage is a subject I have not seen discussed on the forum.Does the pop pressure of the injectors affect the atomization of the fuel enough to have a noticeable effect on fuel mileage?I suspect that it does.I'm on the third set of injectors in my truck trying to get a good balance between towing power and economy.I also realize that today's fuel is not as good as the fuel a few years ago.On the stock injectors in 2004 I was getting great mileage. Then I got a set of +80 injectors using the stock ones as exchange. Mileage went way down hill. I have since put in RV275 injectors and gained some of the mileage back but it sti…

  5. hello guys here is a question . anyone know if there is a way to identify a unknown 24 valve injector ? i have a 2002 dodge diesel as a insurance write off that i have been using for parts for my 2001 dodge diesel . the 2002 had a 4 inch exhaust , a hx40 / hx35 turbo ( hx35 exhaust side ) , a aftermarket airfilter ( i think it is a "afc" ) , some sort of "tuner box" ( it is missing , but the vp44 does have the top cover replaced with one with a "wiretap " ) ...... there was also a boost guage and a egt guage in the truck . ...... there is also a " PDR Diesel " emblem on the tailgate .... ( i emailed them with the trucks serial number , no response so far ) . the tr…

I just installed a Fass 165gph system on my truck. I previously was running the carter pump on the frame with no issues. Now if I let my truck sit over night it cranks longer before it starts. Also I see no fuel pressure on my gauge until after the engine starts. My fuel pump is wired to the 10 amp fuse in the cab marked ignition. After the truck sits over night I turn on the key and check the fuel neck to see if the pump is pumping and maybe my gauge is wrong but its not until the truck starts. I am lost on this one its not that complicated of a system but this has me stumped.

  11. Hello, I've installed a Fass titanium 150gph and now my fuel pressure bouncing it goes from sometimes 14 to 20-24 and goes like 18-20 -21-17-15 bla bla bla ... change rapidly . I have an edge jwa with that electronic sensor. I dont think its the sensor it was good. The motor pump goes like on-off on-off .. . I drive the truck and I run fine even on WOT ... I take the suction line in the stock suction tube from the tank. run the 1/2 line to my stock fuel filter canister and put a 3/8 line from the canister to the vp44 to keep my banjo bolt and the pressure sensor at the VP44 . It's bad that fass don't give a fitting to fit a sensor with the kit! So i…

So I bought a "built" transmission last spring and have pretty much had problems with it since I picked it up, when I got around to putting it in and took it for a test drive all I had was 2nd and 3rd and manual 1st. The trans builder thought it was a bad pressure sensor but come to find out he had built it for a 99 and I have a 2002 so it had the wrong vb wiring. I also noticed that this "built" transmissions band was so out of adjustment I could put my entire finger under the apply lever which was also still stock along with the old used accumulator piston that was just floating around in there with no spring behind it. Well I ended up having the builder come out and r…

Fuel pressure is up around 20 at idle, drops to 15-16 when I get on it. No codes though. I did have a 0216 code from when my lift pump went out over a year ago but it cleared and has never came back. No codes at all? It stopped doing it for awhile but started doing it again. After I shut it off and start it again (sometimes more than once) its fine. Any suggestions on where to start without codes. Ive searched the forum , alot of dead pedal issues but they have codes.

So I have read a lot about air filters, including the BHAF info. One thing I find stands out is the paper element aspect in the BHAF article. I am curious if this is just an anti oil filter thing or if someone has experience with the AEM filters not being good either. I have heard a lot of good things about the dry flow washable filters. I am up between spending $79 once for a dry flow reusable filter and $45 for a paper filter. The AEM filter I would choose is an oval 9" long x 10.5" wide x 8" across with a 4" ID inlet. These dimensions yeild the greatest surface are of all the AEM filters with the correct inlet. Compairable surface area to the 8.5"W x…

Hello all so I have been doing a lot of reading and trouble shooting, still no solutions. My truck is defueling itself at 1900 rpm then comes back to 1900rpm sometimes even revs up at 1900 no idea why not throwing any codes . My sensors are buzzing all over the place reading high . Here is what I’ve done. Checked vss and neutral ground,New cam sensor , disconnected pcm to just run on Ecm still problem is there . Then I tested my map sensor with ohms to ecm checks out fine checked apps checks out fine . I’m now thinking ground problem I checked them all and double checked. I was just messing around with ohms and tested my 5v on map to my double connector , the one tha…

Ok... I've followed most of the steps (yes only most) but I get to Number 8 on this diagnostic tool and I get 44.2k ohms.... a bit more than the 5 or less suggested value. Where is the best place to purchase a replacement or have mine rebuilt?? Thanks, Tim http://articles.mopar1973man.com/2nd-generation-24v-dodge-cummins/59-obdii-error-codes/175-p0336-crankshaft-position-sensor-signal 8. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace ECM. Perform TEST VER-5A . If resistance is less than …

  17. 02 3500 dually 6sp nv5600 quad cab 2wd independent suspension approx 230k miles. It has the 5.9HO. I've had this truck for about 6 years, never had any clutch issues. I don't know the full history of it so I'm assuming it may have the factory clutch. This weekend I noticed it was hard to get in gear, like the clutch was not fully disengaging. I was towing a trailer for a couple days (not really a huge trailer, 10ft enclosed single axle, not really too heavy or loaded etc, prolly 3000lbs total). Clutch issue started after I had backed in and parked / disconnected the trailer. After I pulled away, I noticed it was hard to get in gear.…

On my way home from town I set the cruise and the truck started bucking and jerking on cruise control. Cancel cruise control throttles fine, Set cruise again bucking and jerking. So I pull over unplug the field lead and drive home. No issues at all. Pull out my Fluke DVM and measure at the BATT terminal of the alternator and was getting 0.244 not a typo... So of to the part store again to get another alternator under warranty.

  20. Starting a new thread so we don't clutter up other threads with this talk and we can have it in one dedicated thread. So @jlbayes you're the second person now I've seen post in the last couple days saying that the lower stall speed was terrible. Seems weird that builders like @Dynamic are using the slightly lower stalls, but the end user isn't happy. Is it just a preference on your end or is it actually performing bad? @Dynamic you said that the slightly lower stall speed was good up to around a 62mm sized turbo right? @jlbayes what size charger and stall speed where you running?! Tagging for sa purposes: @CSM @Silverdodge @Me78569 @JAG1
