Yea, I think so lol Not sure if it was a loose connection or what but I'll be ordering a new one. Sad part is this was replaced less then a year ago so unless it was really a loss connection (aka my fault) kinda sucks but I'll talk to Genos and see what they can work with me on. Theres no fuses I need to check right? Needless to say, check your connections often or use lock washers lol

Well, been looking over the truck the last week. Originally had, what I thought to be, a bad water pump. Looked to be leaking out weep hole due to coolant seeping along the timing cover below it. Replaced the pump and all was well for a couple days. After a 4hr trip I found a small coolant puddle. Started tracing it and found the source at front-middle of the head. Leaks down behind the fan housing and follows the timing cover under the water pump. Warmed up the truck and when I squeeze the upper radiator hose small bubbles emerge from the head in the area pictured. Will start tackling the head in the next couple weeks. Surprised it blew with arp studs in plac…

Well onto the next item to fix...what appears to be a head gasket problem . I'm extremely certain that my issue is in fact a bad H.G. but I took a short video so you all can see what I see. The video was taken right after shutdown on a hot engine. What caught my attention, initially, was the upper radiator hose becoming quite firm upon squeezing it at operating temperature. For what it's worth, I had gotten some air into the system (changed the thermostat and radiator cap/went on a short drive up to operating temperature). I cant imagine these bubbles have anything to do with air being bled out on its' own? I did park the truck nose up and burped the system the best…

Not quite sure what the problem is, but here's what happened. I had cruise set at 75 and everything was fine, tuck ran fine, good oil pressure, plenty of power, no warning lights, etc. All of the sudden there was a clicking sounding type of a knock, for lack of a better description and a lot of bluish smoke I think, it was dark but I could see smoke in the mirrors. It would increase as the RPM's did. I got off the turnpike and called a wrecker. Checked the oil it was full and no puddles or leaks. I had my OBD II scanner with me and it read P0234 with no check engine light. As far as I can tell I think the engine sounds fine but the knock/click is so loud it's difficult to…

Still getting to know my new to me ‘99 3500 and looked in the bellhousing inspection window today since the previous owner said it had a billet converter. Sure enough it did, but can’t tell what brand it is. It’s painted blue and I didn’t see a drain on it. No identifying marks. Does anyone have a guess as to who made it?

Hey its just recently gotten cold here and Ive noticed when it has set over night and is cold when it first starts up is blows some blue smoke. I was wondering if this is normal or not. It does it when it gets less than 20 degrees and goes away after a few minutes. I have a basically stock truck just wondering if this is normal or not and what causes it. Thanks

Hello there everyone hope you all have a happy thanksgiving, here recently I noticed my truck hesitates when you go to WOT if you let off some you can feel it take off harder, this is particularly annoying passing people, no codes fuel pressure never drops below 15psi I’ve tried messing with the quad tuning but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Hopefully someone’s seen something like this! Thanks!

  12. Help Please. I have to change out the Air Horn and add heater grid to smog the truck. Found a loaner Air horn and Heater grid but no bolts. I have to get the grid. I was wondering if someone knows the correct bolt length. I went to ACE and the longest that they have just stick out through the Air Horn. They are 8mm x 1.25 Pitch X ___ how long? Thanks Michael

I finally got time to change out my leaking(severely that is)tappet cover gasket. I just made a 1600 mile round trip and went thru near 5 quarts of oil. While in the past I have removed every thing form the drivers side of the engine at different time, it was the first time I ever had to remove all of them at once. Pretty much stripped everything on the drives side to gain good access to the block. The only thing I left on was the fuel lines for 3, 4, and 6. Just did not want to mess with the lines at the head. They did get in the way a little but not to bad. It was also the first time I dd the VP by myself. Of everything I dealt with, that worried me the most. It all we…

My 1998.5 Cummins is stock except for the air cleaner. I am not sure that my turbo is working as it should. I have the Auto Meter fp,op, and would like to add a Boost guage. When I haul a heavy load it is usually Hay Rolls or Cattle. My question is...Does the Boost guage indicate that the Turbo is working? and is it necessary to install a pyrometer guage as well. What guage range should I get. Pyro 0-1600 or 0-2000. Boost ..0-35...or..0-60.?

I have been looking at my boost gauge (adrenaline pulse monitor) and I haven't seen go pass 15 to 16 psi and thats steping on it on the hwy , its usually always around 5 to 8 . Sorry for asking this dumb questions but just trying to understand boost better Is this normal boost what I have? I am also asking this because on most of the tread I read that have to do with boost every body talks about getting 25 psi or 30ish psi reading , Is there some thing I need to check ? what is a boost elbow do I need one? Thanks for your comments.

Anybody see a boost reading on a Scangauge II showing Boost 0.1 cold engine and 21.3 after it warms up? While cold it drives like a slug, but when warm drives like a dragster. Thanks for any comments.

Hello everyone! I have read several articles posted around but cannot seem to find anyone that truly found an answer to my problem. I was recently driving my 98.5 that has a quad adrenaline and it started jerking. After a minute or so I noticed on my Bluetooth monitor that it would cut boost back to zero. As in, I would be going up a hill or something making 5lbs and then it would drop to zero and jerk. (Makes sense because I assume the quad cuts fuel when it sees the boost drop). At first I assumed the MAP finally bit the dust so I replaced it. It didn’t seem to help any. So I continued doing some testing and found the following: 1. if I set the quad to…

My boost elbow threads are loose enough it's tightening up while I drive.... I went to do some testing and saw the drive pressure spike to over 110psi. Needless to say I'd like to make sure it stays in place! Ideas? I've got a couple of my own but I'd like to hear you guys' first.

I took my Edge Ez off a little over a year ago and forgot about the edge elbow. Should I put the stock elbow back in or is there any advantage to the edge elbow?
