Wanting to get away from oil filters, looking at Donaldson #B105006, since there is a distributor close to me, I think they also carry Balwin Filters, just don't have the # in front of me. Any opinions?

I have read here about the ground above the atarter for the ecm. will running a new ground from the battery to the ecm serve the same purpose or does the ground above the starter serve a greater purpose than just the ecm?

  3. You are never going to believe it, the vp44 CAN be "rebuilt" in your shop/garage/lean-to!! Since my pump went out I have been feverishly searching for a cheap fix or the at least the cheapest rebuild I could possibly find……how does about $40.00 sound?!?! I have researched this in depth and found the common problems that cause vp44 failure, most of them are manufacturing process related (burrs left on metal components, pump case wearing through due to lack of lubrication, and parts seizing due to improper lubrication) Once the components have worn down they seize and of course the pump stops working, the less common failure is the electrical pack solders become weak and lo…

I been driving my brothers 99 truck for work. Started it up today and let it run for just a minute while I got situated in the truck. Then it just cut off like it ran out of fuel. White smoke from the tail pipe. I tried to start it backup. White smoke no start. Now no smoke and no start at all where should I start?

  5. First forum post, hey y'all! So I'm looking into getting a new tuner for my Cummins, but it's quite the jungle out there, I've come to find. I see the guys over at PowerDriven Diesel use the Quadzilla Adrenaline tuners, and I kinda trust that lot with all the R&D they put in these engines, but would it be the right tuner for me, is the question? I'm not looking for a tuner that'll supply me with a million horsepower and enough torque to rotate the earth backwards if I launch it too hard in 4WD, but something that'll add around 100-150hp. Having that said, I already have a Smarty S03, and I read elsewhere on this forum that it fuels weirdly, requ…

  6. So I'll start off by saying that I should have been more diligent on axle oil changes (once a year if towing/hauling heavy like most of us do)and that's likely what landed me in this position. That being said I didn't find anywhere on this site, articles about diagnosing, repairing or just general info. So at this point I have a chattering rear end but only on tight corners loaded or backing trailers, I tried the simple things new fluid new limited slip addative, to which I didn't gain much. Now my questions are: How much time do I have left before this thing grenades I only need two-three weeks. Rebuild the power-lok and if so what would be a rec…

  7. Where to even begin.... I've had my iQuad Adrenaline for only 2 months now and I'm fed up with it. This whole ordeal started at installation of the ignition wire. The little hook thing that you're suppose to hook onto the prong of the #9 fuse never worked for me, still doesn't, it doesn't allow the fuse to properly be seated into its spot and easily falls out. So from there I did the best I could and I placed it between the prongs since it fits pretty well between them and it worked and allowed the fuse to sit in its spot nicely. Fast forward to a week ago, driving home, feels like I was working against something since it was a windy day cause it was like big gusts of win…

Posted in 2nd Generation Dodge 24 Valve Powertrain Hello all ! Recently the p0122 came on my 99 cummins, with severe driveability issues, when the throttle is pressed it revs up then dead peddles, revs up then dead peddles. I found Moparmans P0122 test and was working down the list, got to step #6 and I'm confused now if I need a ECMor an APPS. The step is as follows "6. Check Dark Blue/ White wire for continuity between terminal no. 5 on apps harness and terminal No. 31 on ECMharness connector . If continuity does not exsist, repair Dark Blue/White wire" if…

Hi I have a strange problem that I have noticed since installing my quadzilla. Since installing my quad I have noticed my TC lock up is lazy and doesn't lock up really unless I'm climbing a grade and pushing the pedal a bit harder. Or I'm wide open in OD it will lock up.. Turn the quad off I get 'normal' lock up in 3rd and OD. Anyone else come into this issue before? Best way to over come? Mystery switches are they worth it? I don't tow I just use this truck for fun it gets used a couple of times a week. I have a bullet input, triple disc modified OD with more clutches etc (firepunk comp 2 rebuild kit without the billet int…

  10. So I have a 99 24 valve Cummins with 7x14 injectors, bigger-ish turbo, delivery tubes, and lift pump and no tuner on it. When I shift into any gear when the truck is warm it feels like the truck either has to much load on it or tries to overcompensate and it just stalls out. The Tranny is stock. Was told it has billet converter but I’m not positive. It only does this after the truck has been running at operating temp. First start up in morning it shifts fine no issues. Any ideas???

  12. seeing that surging can be an issue would putting my sensor in the air dog sensor hole location be a good idea? or would this be to far back? mine is located under the drivers door on the frame.

The headlights on my truck are not bright as they should be. What would be the best way to do this. Would LED bulbs be better? If so what all would I have to do to make this work? Just replace the bulbs or is there more involved? Is there other options that I can use? Any ideas would be appreciated .

If this is not posted in the correct place please let me know. Today i started tearing down my truck to replace the tappet cover gasket and check for the KDP. When i pulled the rubber hose from the crankcase breather i found the nipple is broken. It has a big chunk gone. I cant see paying $100 for this thing. If anyone has one sitting around not being used that they want to sell please let me know a price with shipping to Kentucky, zip code 40216. Thanks in advance for any help.

So trans and tcase is in the truck and i got it to move this past weekend outside the shop. YAY, well right after I rebuilt it I tested operation and it worked, now after it setting awhile then finally getting put in, it works but only in one gear, I dont remember off the top of my head if it was 4x4 high or 4x4 low but definitely 4x4. Im guessing something got seized inside form it setting and me not being proactive and moving the gears ever so often to prevent this... So with it installed and fluid in it, i guess i can just keep trying to rock it back and forth and hopefully it frees up? i did see the 4x4 indicator switch sometime seizes up to so i might remove that asw…

  17. Are Napa map sensors any good? My truck has been thru 3 Napa map sensors in the last 4 months. I’m wondering if they’rs a deeper issue? I have noticed lately that my truck is not running well and don’t sound at all like other 24 valves around. It idles rougher and overall sounds way different. Valve lash is good fuel pressure is good. I have a set of stock injectors I’m putting in soon and I may replumb the entire fuel system as I’m wondering about air in fuel. What you guys think? I’m getting very fed up with how it runs.

I’ve been having some minor OD/lockup quirks start showing up lately so figured I would start with an AC test. With truck at idle and minimal electrical load I got 0.053v between battery ground and alternator charge post. Then I decided to turn as much stuff in as I could (max a/c, high beam lights, mirror heaters, etc...) on the test also at idle speed I got 0.1xx volts with constant up and down fluctuation. So safe to assume that I have diode problems in my alternator likely causing my OD/lockup problems??? The alternator is only about 5000 miles old and functioning fine so I was thinking I would just install new diode and do the w-…

Hi I have a 2001 sport 4x4 Cummins. Just put a early 47re in with a dpc billet single disc tc, deep pan, and I did a trans go shift kit. Not the Torque converter won’t unlock I’ve changed all of the electronics in the tranny and pulled the valve body back apart and have found nothing wrong why is it still doing this???
