Driving my ‘02 24 valve after a fresh VP44 install and she feels a lot happier than before however when I give her the beans out of a stop she feels sluggish to get up and go through first and second then as soon as I get third she takes off like a rocket. Here is all the stuff I have done, does anyone have any ideas? Is it normal? a set of 150hp SAC injectors, thoroughbred diesel 2 year VP44, quadzilla adrenaline module Running power driven diesel tunes, built 47RE trans w/ a billet triple disc converter, 150gph fass, BD super B turbo (64.5mm comp 80mm turbine), AFE cold air intake, AFE exhaust manifold, and a 4” straight pipe, remote mount trans cooler under the bed, Yu…

My truck is a 2001 QCLB Dodge 24V Cummins, 3.54, built 47RE, 75HP injectors, Edge Juice CTS tuner, 4" exhaust. I am in the process of installing a 64/71/14 High Tech turbo, just waiting for flex oil drain. My goal is to have great power from 50-90 MPH for passing very quickly on two lane highways. Would like to do this without smoking everyone out. From what I have read, F1 injectors are probably the way to go for low smoke. What size? Mach 2 is 105 HP, Mach 3 is 130 HP and Mach 4 is 150 HP. They are all 7 holes, don't know the hole sizes.

Here's what I have, ambient temps have drop pretty good around here. From 108 to 94 today, a pretty good drop, enough to lower egt's? Probably not. I adjusted valves Sunday from 10 - 20 to 8 - 18. Here's the kicker, my egt's have droped overall 150*. My weight is 11k so I am used to seeing high egt's as a norm. I am driving a usuall route when I notice my gauge is lower than normal, I think its stuck so I give it the gas it goes up and I think this is strange. I am thinking this is big news, so I call Mike, he's like yea yea man I like your new found temps but I got to go, can I call you later Kicked to the curb! Just kidding Mike no biggie. I noticed the turbo spools fa…

what do you guys think? insted of raising front susp. why not lower rear?for the guys running stock tires. i have been looking at leveling kit . carli, kore, lorenz.prices range 400.00 plus. and that is just springs and shocks.to center axle you still have to get new track bar. kit also increases angle of stock control arms.i do not want to alter oe steering geometry.anyone know whare to get rear axle lowering blocks and ubolts? thanks

After posting and debating on the use of an additive in diesel fuel in a different thread. Maybe we should share our practices to help each other out. I know this can be a very argumentative subject. Point is many of us have had our trucks from times when quality and selection of products wasn't so great. We all know diesel fuel has taken a dive in quality over the years but IMO engine oils and such have made drastic improvements. Some of us have products and services at our disposal that others don't. I own two Cummins powered 2nd gens. 1997 12 Valve - 220,000 miles on the clock - 180,000 of those under this practice. Rotella T6 5W40 oil with a LF16035 oil filter…

After 340k miles about it is time for some new battery cables the old one are cracked, yellowing and corroded. After hunting around I found the best bang for the buck was buying parts and pieces from multiple suppliers and create my own cables. Now I'm waiting for the last of the one ought cable to get here to get two feet in but as it sits I have just under 160 dollars spent and this is what I got. A cable repair kit with crimping tool http://www.fostertruck.com/larryb-s-battery-cable-repair-kit-for-dodge-cummins-1994-2009.html 10' of 2 ought red motor lead cable with SAE stamped 25' of 1 ought motor lead cable black SAE stamped 25' of 1 ought m…

  9. I just got rid of my boost elbow and installed a manual boost controller recommended by @kzimmer. It's the best $5.46 I ever spent on this truck. Now when I mash down on the go peddle the boost gauge jumps to 26psi, trans shifts up and boost goes to 28psi. When it shifts to 4th, boost hits 30psi and speedo saying 80. No more boost bleed off. There is a lot more room on the adjustment for more boost so how much more boost can I dial in and still be safe?

  10. Well I pulled a small hill yesterday using a tune I wrote that brings the CAN BUS in pretty quickly on the Quad Adrenaline. This combined with Mach 4's (Flux 150 inj) think his 2700 ml/min is similar to most 7x.010's and saw 38 just barely rolling into the go pedal. I am guessing 38-40 lbs of boost would be the max for head gasket longevity? One surprise was that my EGT's are really reasonable at 900-1100. Seems like it starts barely slower vs RV275s like maybe one second on the key. Idles great. Also everyone talks about the sac nozzles being louder at idle but mine is slightly quieter. Thanks

  11. First a 17mpg tank while towing (total flatland slow speed fluke, but I'll take what I can get), the only issues were really simple (exhaust brake linkage lost a C clip; broken fuel tank strap with no damage done at all), and now.....I was prepared to tear my dash out to get at the top of the heater box to deal with a stuck blend door. I pulled the heater controls first and found a kinked control cable. Detached it, straightened it out, and all seems well. Door moves, not sticky, not jammed, nothing. Hope it stays that way!SCORE! :thumb1:Maybe it's getting ready to treat me better. Maybe it'll treat me well enough that it will get some body work out of me

  12. So, I had no oil pressure, had good oil level, truck ran fine, 2001 24 V. I replaced the oil pressure sender under the wiring harness. I still have no oil pressure showing on the dash cluster. Could it be a bad sender, or a bad gauge on the dash? I'm throwing no DTC or error codes on an INOVA code reader. I bought a mechanical, Autometer oil pressure gauge. Can I locate the sending unit on the oil filter housing, or is there a better place? I searched all of the other posts on the forum, and no one has had the problem of replacing the sender and still having no oil pressure. Thanks!

  14. The latest edition of Diesel Power Mag has an article on methonal/water injection. It focuses on improving emissions but also implies power improvements, lower egt's and better fuel economy. But as with other technical articles they give very little to no actual quantifiable data. Sometimes some graphs and pictures but it would be difficult for you to justify the install based on what info they provide. I am not looking for power increases or lower egt's as I am happy with my truck for how I use it, but I would like to pick up some additional economy improvement. "Snow Performance" advertises 6-12% better fuel economy on their "Tow-Max". There are 3 or 4 major manufact…

  15. Ok guys lets talk water meth injection. I know the old go too mixture is the blue washer fluid. I used some M5 race fuel in my setup, cut about 50/50 with purple washer fluid. Anyone else dabble with a differnt mix? I do notice quite a bump in boost when I'm spraying....

Hope this is ok to put here. I wanted to put the history and semi build up of my truck so far for both record and might be able to help others some how. So, I have been a dodge fan for years, partly because my father works at a dodge dealership and because the only non dodge product we have ever had in the family was a mid 2000s Subaru Legacy. My first time driving anything was when I was like 3-6 years old, my father let me steer his Jeep Grand Wagoneer down the road. We actually still have that jeep but it has fallen into disrepair because of reasons. I personally have had a 1999 Jeep Cherokee (on loan from the parents), 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 (was…

It's not a huge deal compared to some.other members here but I've reached 150,000 miles. I've only owned the truck for a little over a year. She had about 138k on the clock when I bought it but so far, no major problems and looking forward to the next several hundred thousand miles behind the wheel.
