Burnt Read Diff Fluid
When I reload my diff I was squeeze in a extra bit more fluid (8 oz) or so by covering the hole partial with my thumb and squeezing i that bit more. Then stuff the plug back in quickly. The I would take the truck out to a open pull out and do figure eights for at least 4-5 laps to push the oil out to the hubs. Then return home check the fluid level again typically when I tip the plug slightly I should get some weeping back out if so I'm happy. It also always me to sample the fluid and see what happen without dipping my finger.

Our mail carrier here in the valley drives a Suburu Impressa and covered over 280K miles and still going strong. She has about the same amount of boxes to stop at but like she says the Suburu she got is prefect because its a narrow enough car that she can lean over the passenger seat to stuff boxes.

I would at least load up with fluid till its full again. At least keep things lubed and cooled while you move. As for the metal to metal it could be hub bearings from lack of lube. (I'm hoping for the easy stuff!)

But your without a trailer. Right? ...so Grosss Combined weight for me would of been roughly 14,000 pounds between truck and trailer.

Well I just made a run down to Payette TVM hauling 6,200# of scrap metal. My EGT's on this trip ran about 600-800*F. Then climbing over Midvale Grade (6% grade) I dropped into 4th Gear held it at 55 MPH over the top and it hovered right at 1,100*F the whole way over the grade. Barely got to 205*F worth of coolant temp. Remember: Edge Comp set to Kill (5x5) RV275 Injectors Stock HX35W Turbo Straight Pipe 3" Exhaust BHAF Wonderful to arrive at Payette, ID TVM and see 14.2 MPG... (Bonus)

I serious worried to let him run again on your truck or any truck... If he can't see the fuel gauge he most likely doesn't see any gauges or anything on the dash.

Radio Shack should have them... That's where I've bought them in the past for building the high idle kits.

Might be time to pull the starter and check the brushes and contacts. Both can be purchased at LarryB's and rebuilt yourself...

I've got a local gent with the code too and just install the fuel pressure gauge and so far he's holding up just fine but got a few quirks to it.

I would absolutely cry my eyes out... :cry:But I got smart years ago and run twins. Main drive is 1.0 TB and the back up drive is a 1.5 TB. So when I was running windows I would have Norton Ghost run in the late hour of the night and backup all the 2.0 TB to the 2.5 TB so there was a fresh backup every morning. That system is still in place except windows doesn't run in the night so the backup are rather stale. So I know I got to force Ghost to kick a backup next time I fire up windows. But being I do most everything in Linux I tend to forget.So like the Linux drive I'm working on is a 250 GB drive with problems already and eventually I got to get off my rear end and move Linux over to the 1.0 TB in its own partition so it remains part of the system. But I know I'm on barrowed time and the 250 GB will eventually fail me. Linux is already warning me with SMART diagnostics. That's something I love about Linux it tells you your drive health and if and when it might fail.

Well if your on Ubuntu I would know how you did it. At least with Ubuntu there is a option to unmount when you reading MS drives. Well I've come really close to using the next command up which is format. Since I flipped over to LXDE Desktop now that problem is gone. :wink:Sure sucks to lose 200 GB of information... I've got more like 2.5 TB or (2,500 GB) of information on one computer. I need to sneak over to Windows for a bit and back up again, It's Been awhile.

55 MPH I float 2-3 PSI of boost and 400-600*F EGT's.Idling I can pull as low as 250*F but typically see 300*F.Towing 8K travel trailer with Edge Comp wide open. No problem 700-900*F roughly on flat ground. But climbing a grade no problem either 1,100*F in 4th gear on 6% grade at 53 MPH.

File system is a bit different but root, home, user, etc are basically the same as Windows just named differently.But I tend to agree browser wise Opera, Chromium, FireFox all work much better on Linux much smoother. Very very rare have I've seen system or app hang in Linux when it does it so wonderful to pop open Terminal box and call out the command "sudo killall (app name)" and the problem is gone. :woot:When it Windows it still possible to hang the entire system so bad than keyboard and mouse hardware are dead and non-responsive.

Well I'm pushing even harder now. I managed to fire up Guild Wars which is a Windows game on Ubuntu Linux using WINE. So far so good... Here is some information on what I'm playing with... WINE http://www.winehq.org/ Ubuntu Linux http://www.ubuntu.com/ And the MMORPG game I'm firing up. http://www.guildwars.com/ I'm going to benchtest this and see if Linux is more stable than Windows Vista which seem to have hang issues and network dropping issues.
