  1. Here in Idaho on road diesel and off road diesel come from the same tap... Ones got dye and the other doesn't... But like some make people that are trying to cheat I got a buddy in New Meadows, ID (Relentless70) that has be trying to use heating oil in his truck and he's filtering it down through 2 filter before pouring in the tank but now the engine fuel filter is still plugging up premature on him... :doh:Another guy I know in LA state he's been using off road diesel now for years but already been through a VP44, few lift pumps, and many fuel filters. Everytime he using the off road fuel it just plugs up his airdog filters but once again he's using a goldenrod filter on the drag tank so it filter before putting into the fuel tank but still the issue...
  2. No... That's why I did the handy work on the 1996 Dodge 1500 and now use that for my daily driver. Then I'm only paying 3.389 a gallon for gasoline. I save the diesel for the big and heavy hauling like the RV or firewooding. The little 96 Dodge only has 146K on the clock so time to use it... Can't complain...
  3. I could but typically diesel has always been right close to the price of gasoline or just below it at times. This is the biggest jump I've seen period... :wow:Even back in 2007 when diesel here was $4.999 gasoline was right there too at 4.899... But now for diesel to go to a spread of +80 or +90 cents above gasoline that plum crazy... Not to mention I've not seen below $4.00 a gallon since Novemeber 2010...
  4. Now you know why I'm the MPG king when it comes to these 2 trucks... I can't afford to drive anywhere most times because the price of fuel. Heck just to grocery shop for the basic eggs, bread, milk, etc... It 35 miles 1 one way to McCall, ID just for basics...
  5. This is what happens when you travel 180 miles to go shopping... McCall, ID Now Payette, ID (near Ontario, OR) Like local here a 4 pin twist lock plug is $39 bucks... Head down to Ontario, OR and hit Home Depot and get the same plug for $15 bucks... Locally a gallon of antifreeze is like $15 bucks or go down to WalMart in Ontario, OR and get it for $8 bucks a gallon. MoparMom and I are really getting tired of the price gouging locally...
  6. MoparMom stubbled across this little tidbit and had me watch this video I was shocked so I had to share it with you all. http://www.miniatur-wunderland.com/exhibit/video/5-minutes-wunderland/ http-~~-//youtu.be/ACkmg3Y64_s
  7. Try our vendors... http://articles.mopar1973man.com/index.php?option=com_contact&view=category&id=12&Itemid=112
  8. Now that I seen the a/C line you'll have to dump the freon out of the system. (Sorry to say). Then once those lines are pulled you can pull the HVAC box out from under the dash and kind of roll it out from under the dash with a sliding motion.Be kind of like this...
  9. I don't think so... You'd be surprised how tight the bolts are typically in a VP44...
  10. Yeah... 4 wheel Antilock brakes have 2 front axle sensors and 1 rear axle sensor... So if you got the light out now you doing good... Now deal with your vibration problem... U Joints?Carrier Bearing?Out of balanced driveshaft(s)?Out of balanced tires?
  11. Fleetgaurd Oil and fuel filters... Then now switching over to Donaldson Fuel filters on the AirDog 150 now...The fact NAPA doesn't list there filter spec a little clearer than they do is why I tend to back away... I know there is tons of farmers and rancher that use tha filter all the time but in the same token how many come running back with VP44 issues? Good question...
  12. Ok... Start off by getting the blower motor and heat shield removed from the engine side. Then remove all fastners on the engine side. The box should be loose at this point and if the dash is free on the passenger side it should flex enough to allow the HVAC case to slide under the dash.
  13. Yeap it most likely a blower motor... When you do order a motor for it make sure its got a plug on it... I've seen a few cheap motors from different part houses require you to cut and place your old plug on the bolower motor...:duh:Thinking of that it might not be a bad idea to lube both of mine up again... Before the bearings get "hosed up"
  14. Could you shot some pictures of the box and what you got so far and I'll try to guide you the rest of the way...
  15. White Lightning you got to catch up...
  16. Oil temp typically follows the coolant temp fair close running empty... (Second hand info)So I tend to watch EGT's and Coolant Temp (Scan Gauge II) and try for below 350*F and below 193*F...
  17. Give a feel for the 55 MPH in both my trucks... 1996 Dodge 1500 http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN-w9jhHyI8 2002 Dodge 2500 http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRQdoPs_tLo I just laugh at those who pass me... I always find them at the next fuel station... The 2 beasts...
  18. I'd do the Edge comp too its a cheap box and give back the boost fooler you lost when the EZ fried...
  19. Now out here we really don't have the rat race per say but now couple the weather, road conditions, and a logging truck racing to unload can be a hair raising experience. So like you I'll give him room let him go. I'm even nice enough to flash my light to alert him to get back over. Just about every time I get a flash back saying "Thank You". Out here in Idaho everything is either a 2 lane highway or a single lane dirt road.
  20. Guns? What Guns? :lmao2:I don't see no gun? (Consealed weapons permit...) Also work with the local law enforcement (Search & Rescue)
  21. Well sounds like you healing up. But take your time don't rush it! I remember years ago dis-locating my left knee and how long it took to be able to walk without a brace or finally crawl back on the back of a motorcycle. Back in those day I enjoyed riding across Los Angeles, CA on my Honda CB550. Back then I was banished to my 1973 Dodge Charger that was even a trick to slide in and out of with a leg brace. So take it easy... Take your time... Let it heal up right...
  22. The idea of the solar panel is awesome I would... In my case with the cutoff switch I could easily do that too... I've got a pair of small solar panels that would be able to give a small trickle charge...
