  1. Here check out something this is really interesting... http://www.pbs.org/mediashift/2009/01/warning-dependence-on-facebook-twitter-could-be-hazardous-to-your-business029.html
  2. I agree with both the guys about the K&N... why bother washing a filter constantly and breaking down the filter media to the point of passing dust. BHAF will last 5 years and 100K miles easy without washing, oiling, or even messing with it. Why? Simple because the fact the filter is so huge that the dust can't be held to the media by vacuum so with road vibration the dust is shook off and it becomes self cleaning lets say... http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=923 As for mileage gains you need to consider a enhancement box of some sort. Like myself I got a Edge Comp and run it wide open 5x5 and been tipping the MPG at about 20-21 MPG typically. A good fuel system. A good lift pump will help keep the VP44 injection pump healthy longer so the MPG's will not degree as much. AirDog 100 or AirDog 150 both come with filter and filter down to about 2 microns compared to stock filter at 10 microns. Ah heck... There is even more information over here... http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/cummins/general/better-mpgs/better-mpgs.htm
  3. Love to see this... Sounds interesting...
  4. Good to hear its going smoothly so far...
  5. This is a 2 part video I uploaded to YouTube. I was going to video a full trip all the way around but time was getting short so video trip came short as we enter Boise, ID but some day I take you down US95 and show you that side of the state... But without much delay here it is... Part 2...
  6. Oh so very true... My first truck I had in Idaho is a 1972 Dodge PowerWagon 3/4 Ton. I managed to put over 202K miles on it before I gave up on the truck. I bought it with just about 70K miles... But it had a broken piston ring and a few other minor problems. I pulled the engine and rebuilt it myself. When I gave up on the beast... The interior was complete shot. But the engine and trans still kept going the proble I had was I was breaking outer axle stubs (4WD and early 72 axle will just being discontinued). It a poor pic but... (really good truck I really do miss it!) http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1073 http://forum.mopar1973man.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1072
  7. Holy Crap! GuessWho! That is a mouthful to rap your mind around... Worth reading some of that...
  8. The part that got me upset is the fact I see the wave coming to Idaho already... We are at $3.409 to $3.609 a gallon for diesel fuel. I'm sure a lot of you will chime in with much lower prices... But the fact remains that BP will lean on all the other oil industry and Big Gov't to help clean it up in return the price of diesel will go through the roof... (Again)... I think its BP problem... BP should clean it up.. BP mess should not effect the price of fuel... It other word I know just because of this mess I'm going to pay for the clean up by see a huge increase in fuel cost again... Just wrong...
  9. You'll know when you get up in place either it will sit into place really easy or refuse to go... But by the pics you given I would say the TQ Conv is in place... Now W&F has to get you setup on the VB part...
  10. But be aware the part for the NV5600 could be in short supply... From... http://quad4x4.com/NV5600%20parts.htm Since NV4500 trans were use in several different makes of vehicle Chevy's and Fords also there is more supplies for 5 speed trans than 6 speed trans. I'm still finding reports of trucks at the dealer waiting for 6 speed parts... The extra might be nice but the final gear ratio is (6 speed 0.73:1) and (5 speed 0.75:1) so top gear is basically the same...
  11. Hey I might of hit close to you guys problem... Another member was talking about Trans swaps... I just found a tidbit for you JL... This might be you problem the ECM is from a Auto and the anti-stall is DISABLED... The flash might be your trick...
  12. Nor have I heard of any tales of a Pyro probe wiping out a turbo...
  13. I guess though then... Geez... Must be the old tyme gasser I remember sitting in really deep... tHose kind of hang out a bit... wow!
  14. What I'm finding is that you can't have your cake and eat it too.. Either you build up your truck a little bit and blow a bit of smoke and get into the 22-23 MPG bracket or you go for full smog control with DPF and EGR valve and drop to a low of 14 MPG...
  15. Yeah that's poking out a bit far... (Ugh!) But if it finally seated back behind the bellhousing then I would safely assume your in far enough... I doubt that you got this far and you'll make it through... Just got to get the TQ Conv. in all the way. As for the VB work you might talk to Wild & Free hes a good one for Auto's Guts...
  16. I don't think that is fair... A oil company makes a mistake (because of their greed) and we got to pay for it...
  17. Still keep track of it I'm still curious if it help or not...
  18. Here you go gang the oil spill graphically displayed for ya... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/37219823/ns/gulf_oil_spill
  19. I curious if there is a MPG change from it?
  20. Good to hear it got fixed...
  21. Is it like this??? http://forum.mopar1973man.com/showthread.php/1811-Can-the-idle-speed-be-adjusted?p=12780&viewfull=1#post12780
  22. Pulling a 7% grade on the highway about 1,100*F at 18 PSI of boost... (65 MPH)
  23. Naw... Your are not electric def nor electric adj... Your safe for the moment... Or do they?
  24. Way you VP44 is acting you might talk to JL Welding... Seems you to got something in common... But that is plain weird everytime you hit Drive (in gear) it falls on its face and dies not unless you jump into gear rapidily... It like the governor of the VP44 isn't doing its job properly is my feeling... Because the unstable idle isn't right nor is the low idle speed... Something is for such not right...
  25. Sound like the overflow valve is weaker?
