  1. What's wierd is every time I took my injectors out they always looked like they been in there forever, not sure what's normal.
  2. @IBMobile good article, but I think @015point9 was asking if oil would go to timing gears simply by putting oil in the hole of the valve cover, which I don't believe it would and only partially would lubricate some of the valve train closest towards the hole. I was always under assumption that cranking the engine without starting is the worst thing you can do. Best thing is probably just to start it every so often and bring it up to the operating temp for a period of time to get all the moisture out, them before shut down driver up to 2000 RPM so everything is well lubricated and shut down right after. If that's all you are going to do for a period of time, I don't believe oil will oxidize and go bad in several years at least. In my opinion if you can start it once a month bring it up to the temp then shut it down, you could probably change oil once every 3 years and be just fine. friend of mine didn't change oil for like 6 years and drove the truck daily, he didn't put a ton of miles a year on it but still. It was 2001 I think 1500 Chevy, it still has the truck but moved to Florida now. Probably still changing the oil once every couple of years at most. Not saying that that's a good thing just saying sometimes we overthink things.
  3. When I first got my truck it was starting to show signs of rust in hard to reach and see places like inside fender wells, rockers... I got one of them air operated sprayers, that should dip one end into whatever and the tool to the air compressor when you pull the trigger it creates vacuum and sucks. I use cheapest motor oil I could find and spray everything in my truck that I could get to. I believe after 10 years of owning it I slowed it way down, but here at some point I will need to start addressing it. Have this crazy idea of painting it camo, like I did my old toy truck I'll be easy to touch up.
  4. I can only spin tires in snow or wet asphalt for whatever reason, dry pavement it just grabs and takes off like a rocket. Probably a good thing.
  5. I took my screen off too, haven't had any issues. If I know I'll be going off-road I'll fill the tank up. Part of the reason I fill up at half tank most of the time, never know when I need to go down a steep grade.
  6. No wonder they say, your health is your wealth...
  7. Little late to the party, happy birthday
  8. Yeah I'm a bit paranoid about it but at the same time I haven't seen any ill effects yet. Probably better in winter and not so good in summer. At least it's good half the year
  9. It sucks you have to go through all this BS living overseas.
  10. I know in summer it gets up there 160sh especially when tank gets emptier. I was just joking about the tow truck
  11. Did you buy a tow truck for a side business I have a draw straw inside sending unit, for what it's worth I got down to last 3-4 gallons, I believe I pumped 31 something gallons in. This was a second time I did that since I owned the truck. I generally stay above a quarter, and more than often fill up at half. When I first got my truck it was plumped through a draw straw like yours, but cut too short. I had all kinds of issues sucking air and losing prime, for whatever reason I decided to go with the one that fits inside the module. Been working fine ever since.
  12. I'm still kicking myself in the rear for changing my ball joints too soon. People say oh you can't have any play in the lower joint but you can in upper because upper is designed to move and lower is not. Well I had minimal up and down on both and thought lowers were going, just to find out new did exactly same thing
  13. Looks like no more ATm's was looking to get a set for a work truck, they got replaced by AT2's. Has anyone gotten any feed back on new style. https://www.tirebuyer.com/education/hankook-dynapro-at2
  14. Where's @dripley I want to know what he burns in his fryer oh no I didn't
  15. You sure it's not because of 2 stroke. Guess I should have let the bobbles settle out before I took the picture
  16. Just curious to see what your diesel looks like. Here is what I get around quad cities Iowa, most of it is labeled 5-20% bio. It sure looks like gasoline to me, but then again I don't stare at it every time I fill up. Is this normal looking or
  17. Requires more fuel in the morning to warm up so... I'd say change injectors and see what happens. Then next step
  18. At idle is the ECM is in full control. Have you messed with apps, make sure it's not sending signal at idle. Go through wiring, check connections. How old are the injectors, what is the engine load at idle, could be that injectors are pissing and ECM is trying to compensate.
  19. Nice looking truck, wish they would hold up that way, I may do that someday to my truck if it becomes a toy. Looks like lots of tlc there.
  20. On page 4 you can see where I mounted my stuff
  21. I don't see any snow, we had 2" yesterday, all gone now.
