  1. Warranty and road hazard may be an issue with mail order tires, and maybe it won't. Best to do some research on that. I'm also getting new tires this fall. Cooper AT3 XLT's in 275/70R18. I've talked with 208 Tire and Commercial Tire, but haven't made up my mind yet. Notes are at home, but the prices were very similar.
  2. The display side is where mine came loose as well. Get a hold of @Smarty Support or www.smartyresource.com
  3. I hadn't heard that about 3rd gens. I do know that the "in-cylinder" EGR of the 3rd gen grind is gone with the 6.7 and external EGR. From what I've read the 6.7 uses a decent OEM grind on the cam.
  4. Could it be a cracked breather line? I know it's hard to see some of the spots on top, and throwing ideas out there that may keep it in the truck for fixing.
  5. The crank isn't an issue on mine.
  6. I've read in on quickserve. 180° thermostat is full open at 198° and max allowable 212° 190° thermostat is full open at 207° and max allowable 225° Now you can see why the fan kicks on around 208° with a OE 190° thermostat
  7. Just remember that the max allowable temp, from Cummins, for a 180° thermostat is 212°. If you're getting above 212° the heat rejection capabilities of the cooling system are inadequate... this would most likely be due to the fan settings if the OE thermostat was 190°.
  8. At least in my size the tread depth is the same, 16/32”, and the XLT has a 60K mile warranty.
  9. Those are good mileage numbers. Ive looked at the ATP but think they will be a little softer for what I do. The XLT is designed for heavy hauling on gravel, which I do plenty of, and it’s really hard on tires.
  10. My next tires will be Cooper AT3 XLT’s in 275/70R18.
  11. You might be better off researching a different exhaust housing. A .63 gated housing would spool much better. Big non-gated housings are for high rpm and/or primary turbos in twins.
  12. A 1.85 housing is HUGE! Are you sure that’s the housing you have? Does the turbo have a wastegate?
  13. Schwab prices and tires suck! I’m done running Toyo’s, they just don’t last. I’ve ran several of their tires, 10ply and 14ply, and they do the same thing... wear the good tread out in 15-20K miles and then sit at 5/32” for ten’s of thousands of miles. They are only a 4 season tire for 15K miles and then a dry pavement tire. I’ve been much happier with Cooper products. I will say the only decent thing Schwab does is tire chains
  14. Do you have a boost fooler installed too? What turbo?
  15. The post shooting smell is generally gone by morning, thou there will still be some residual smell in the dirt. Make sure the windows to the house are all closed too!!! Ive heard they won’t spray if they can’t raise their tail, that’s false... very false.
  16. There is zero need to fill a fuel filter, as the lift pump will prime it. VP trucks are a little more forgiving than CR trucks, but still not something that's worth the 2 seconds you save. It's not the injection pump that gets the brunt of damage from unfiltered fuel, it's the injectors.
  17. I had the OFE on my 05, but dad's 06 had the OHD. I much preferred the feel of the OHD and would recommend it over the OFE unless you need the added holding power. 425/900 is a pretty good rating for the OHD thou.
  18. That sounds right. I recall now, the shop that built my 1 piece drive shaft ordered it in for me.
  19. I don't recall it being a tough job, just be sure to find something that is the size of the seal to drive it into the xcase with. I do remember the part being harder than expected to find thou. Can't recall if I had a parts store order it, or I got it from Dodge.
  20. Try and find someone doing MM3 tunes. You won’t find much online or over the phone thou, as it’s pretty illegal and a current hot topic. Where do you live?
  21. Shouldn’t be enough of a difference from 88 to 90. Just use the 90 specs and add 300 lbs for 30 years of dirt and owner junk.
  22. It won’t appreciate being lugged, rather cars behind you won’t appreciate it... but once it’s spooled it should clean up every bit of fuel you have. I’ll vote with @kzimmer and say you haven’t got much to lose with your application.
  23. No alignment needed, as there isn’t anything to adjust after BJ installation.
  24. Yes, but as @Mopar1973Man has pointed out many times the location of the IAT sensor on the 2nd gen makes the reading all but useless in terms of figuring out the intake/intercooler location. After 10 years monitoring intake temps vs pre-turbo temps I can tell you that there is a HUGE difference in air pulled from the engine bay vs the outside air. The intercooler just can’t keep up with massive increases in pre-turbo temps.
