Tie rod rubbing front diff cover?
I am not sure I want to know. Mine is doing it also, just slightly. I am thinking he means the axle tubes are not aligned and the causing the pumpkin to be forward slightly. My track bar is shot and I am hoping that has something to do with mine hitting. This just started very recently on mine. I have a new track bar and should get it on next week around Christmas. supposed to be around 70 here

VP44 No start issue
The 2 stroke or the bio helps lubricate the pump. The pump gets all of its cooling and lubrication from the fuel. You can read on this in the articles section, Mike has a lot of good info there. Fuel pressure on the supply is all you need. What kind of a lift pump do have now? If you have everything on in the link you posted for the Banks system, your truck is going to be completely different if you do not reconnect it. My Big Head waste gate opens at 33 or so pounds. With out the tuner doing the boost fooling the ECM will start defueling the engine around 20 psi. That means when you put the hammer down go pass someone you will loose power right when you want it. I had to learn how to pass with mine by rolling into the throttle and keeping the boost below 20 psi. It was a pain but worked. Now you might be able to connect the tuner without connecting the wire tap to the pump and get the boost fooling, I dont know. What kind of boost pressure were you seeing before?

VP44 No start issue
I had the Banks Stinger plus on mine. Installed it in 2005. It went south on me about 3 and half years ago. it never stopped running, just messed with the electronics. You will have to tap the pump for the Ottomind to work or you will loose the power it provides. Bare in mind that if you tap the wire it will void the warranty on the VP unless you bought the one that it does not. It is 3 or hundred dollars more. The 3 best things you can do for the the vp to last is, #1 Good fuel pressure. If you dont have a gauge get one. If you dont want diesel in the cab, use an isolator. keep the fuel pressure between 14 and 20 psi for optimal protection. #2 A good lift pump and filters to provide that pressure and clean fuel. Fass makes a very good electric pump for the purpose and there are a couple mechanical pumps out there that seem to work for several folks here. I dont know much about them. Both style have larger fuel lines for better flow. #3 Start running 2 cycle oil in your fuel. I use super tech from wally world and 1 oz per gallon unless I am running bio diesel then I cut that in half. That is what I have been doing for the past 6 years and it has served me well. I dont change my filters on a schedule, probably should. but as long as the pressure is steady I dont worry much. I sure to hear about that statement. As far as how far to run the tank down, I run mine to the bottom. I will stretch further while empty than when I am towing. I put 35.3 gallons in my once. Cant believe I do not have to walk that last 500 yds for that fuel. I am sure that other folks will have more and maybe better ideas for you. Time will tell.

Replacement dashboard for 96'
I used the LMC dash and installed it about 3 years ago. So far so good. the color matched and it looks just like the parts it mates u to. But as I remember after the large part charge and shipping you will be much closer to $300 than $220 unless the price has come down some. Mine was also an 02 and not a 96.

VP44 No start issue
by fake crank do you mean bumping the starter with no engine start? This will cycle the lift pump and let it run for about 25 seconds. This method is good to reprime the system to the vp44. In order to bleed the high pressure side you need to open some injector lines,1, 3 ,and 4 should work. Then you have to try and crank the engine. The lift pump alone will not purge the air from the high pressure side of things. As air gets out of the lines the engine will try and run. At this time you need to start closing the injector lines off and see if it will start running. It will take several starts for it to run and it will run rough until all the air is purged. Now if the vp is bad it wont start. The 1688 code is not a good sign for the vp. here is some more good info on the VP44.http://bluechipdiesel.com/vp44_diagnostics.html With what you are describing it would appear it is a connector or wiring issue like Tfaro said. if the connectors are not damaged or corroded then it is most likely in the wiring harness. Wiring is not one of my strong points.

Why I like old guns...
I have a Connecticut Arms Colt Navy 44 cap and ball replica. Built it from a kit. The instructions, as I recall, warned of over loading the gun so much that the first time I shot it I only used a half load. I was firing at a split oak log I had in the back yard. The second shot I fired bounced off the log and hit me in the left thigh right next to my left ********. Never fired a half load again. I figured a full load would at least stick it in the log. Never got shot by a bounce back again. Had a lot fun with that gun. Still have it here somewhere. I do enjoy the WWII weapons. The BAR was a mighty potent weapon, but I am glad I never had to tote it all day in life threatening conditions. While I am not a big game player I can guarantee when I do play one that one or both of those will be on the menu.

Heater Core replacement
IIRC there is no filter to stop any debris from getting there. Mine had some debris but only about half what you have.

red fuel off road whats the diffrence
Well I could have refused and fought them and spent god knows how much time fighting it or just let him stick the tank and gone on about my business. Not so much scared of them as I was wanting to be shod of them. A battle I did not think was worthy of a fight.

All that kind of takes the fun out of driving. Must make you feel like Apollo 13 trying to coast back to earth after coming around the moon.

Are you living in the area of isis' hit list?
Well look at the ant hill that got kicked open. The passion i see amongst you all must certainly be similar to the passion that that was felt by this country in 1941. Millions signed up and served. Many like my father signed up for the duration. No discharge until the war was over. That war was more cut and dry than anything we have faced since. Allies and the Axis, uniforms and large armies. Well defined warfare on a scale never seen before, and all the while civilians sitting in the line of fire. Many more of them died than combatants. The wars we have fought since have been anything but cut and dry and for the most have not been fought to a conclusion. The Korean War was never resolved, Vietnam, we left and the North Vietnamese walked over the South. We did kick Sadam out of Kuwait. Then we kicked Sadam out or Iraq and now ISIS has taken over parts of Irag and Syria and the crap just goes on and on. Bill and Mike, I think both of you would have made it thru boot camp and thrived. You both would have made up to NCO status very quickly and most likely beyond if you wanted the officer status. You would have brought many recruits thru the same to give them a chance to make it thru alive. That is what a good NCO does. I remember when the Army and Marine Corps took a lot of heat for their harshness in training back in the 70's. I did not know it then, but they were training these kids for combat and trying give to them what they needed to survive. I do understand being independent and not wanting to be micro managed. I, like the both of you and many of us dont need someone looking over our shoulder constantly. Since I have been in the superintendent business, had I had to bow down to some one in an office 300 miles away trying to tell me how to run the job I would be doing something else for a living. As it stands now., I have been thru boot camp, paid my dues and now am in charge. Once we are awarded a job, the project manager writes all the contracts then hands it over to me and I build it. Main emphasis on "I". It is mine to run as I see fit. As long as all is well nobody questions how I do it as long as it gets done on time and on budget. I seem to be stretching out my words here. But the passion I see here is what I have grown accustomed to over the years and all of you have my respect,

Are you living in the area of isis' hit list?
The main weapon these people have is fear. If they make us afraid, make us change the way we do things out of fear of them they will win that part of the battle for now. Me, other than be more aware of my surroundings, I aint changing anything. I do not fear them and will not live my life in fear. You still have to deal with added security every where, just a fact of life these days. These people disgust me, watch some of their videos and see how much they enjoy the killing.

- red fuel off road whats the diffrence
From the visit I had from the IRS agent in Florida you can refuse and then they cite for refusal. According to him the fine was the same for refusing or running the off road fuel. This was 10 or 11 years ago so I am sure there have been some changes since then.- P0113/P0382 Truck Won't Start IAT and Heater Grid Codes
Either one or both can cause the issue. The cam sensor is buried behind the vp and the crank sensor can be a pain even though it is more accessible. Seen alot of posts where you pretty much have to destroy the crank sensor to get it out and few where it just comes out easily. Seems I have read where some of the later models like mine have even generated a CKP code even though they dont have one.- Winter is coming
65 and rainy out here. Only one day below freezing for a low in the forecast for the next 10 days with a mix of rain and sunshine. Wont start my next job until sometime after new year. I think the cold weather is just waiting for me to start.- P0113/P0382 Truck Won't Start IAT and Heater Grid Codes
Dont the 99's have both a cam and crank sensor?- new vp, new lift pump, new ecm, still got nothin
If it runs in the test box does that not eliminate the pump as the problem? I had never heard of this test box before so I Googled it and if I am reading it right if it runs using it, the pump is ok. The only other test I am familiar with is the one at Blue Chip.http://www.bluechipdiesel.com/vp44diagnostichelp.html Does your lift pump function properly now?- intercooler constant tension clamps
i guess they had to use up all the 01 parts on something. Kind of like the 08 12 valves.- intercooler constant tension clamps
Mine has the CAD. Bought it in October 01- Replacement headlights
I used some Eagle Eyes from A1 Auto IIRC. $75 for the pair with oe bulbs, no turn signals. My signals look like new. Unlike CTcummins24 my low beams are ok and the high beams are phenomenal on the oe bulbs. I did have to turn the right side in pretty far to align but am pretty satisfied with them for the price.- intercooler constant tension clamps
i have an early HO 02 and it did not come with the spring clamps.- intercooler constant tension clamps
Curious as to what you are wanting for the lot.- Excessive rear tire wear
