CAD Questions
The noncad trucks are basically in 4wd 100% of the time. Ont thing that happens to engage the front end is grab the tcase lever and shift it into gear to drive the already locked front end. The cad trucks are also but the combination of spider gears and unlocked axles shafts means that if tcase is engaged and actuator doesn't lock the pwer will go to path of last resistance through the spider gears wich happens to then be the unlocked inner axle shaft. Technically everything is working just the axle is soaking up the power from the transfercase in the spider that has no resistance. I to would like to have 2hi but not on vacumn switch that will fail. Vacumn and 4wd should never go together they've been failing ever since combined in 1859 I'd like to run my dana60 with Detroit locker and old school hubs. I'd have 2high with unlokced hubs and the ability to choose to lock both hubs or leave one unlocked if running on pavement. Cost is much to high to convert to hubs unless I come across a dana60 out of a 78-79 ford and build a axle for fun someday. Maybe with long arms since that's leaf sprung axle and will need stripped to go under a coil sprung dodge I better just leave as is alone since it works and jeep hacking on my jeep . posi lock sells a cable actuator for jeeps I'd assume they also do for the dana60 cad axles. It cost like 100bucks and also gives 2low

CAD Questions
If it were mine I'd install non cad axle shaft and plug vacumn lines. My jeep has the same cad setup. I welded the collar in place permanently locking it. I also have a noncad axle with lower gears thats some day going in it

CAD Questions
I think they went non cad in 01. I'd verify 4wd doesnt work before spending to much time. My first thought was also that inner axle was swapped for a non cad 1 peice axle. With the noncad axle it no longer needs actuator 4wd will be engaged when transfercase is engaged. Wether or not light on dash is lit. Hmmm mines an 02 ,non cad. Ah64 Is damn smart. So if the truck is noncad but has cad axle4wd wont work well or possibly at all since axle will be disconnected unless it has a inner axle for a noncad axle reinstalled in the cad axle. I'm sure I've made no sence

I like to build saws
Been awhile since I played with saws. The other day this 372xpw popped out of nowhere for cheap . These are lack luster saws xpw runs concrete saw cylinder dropped on a chain saw as factory big bore. It was a flop meant to run with the 75cc stihl 046. But actually was out done by the 70cc 372xp I tore it down raised transfers 2.5mm to advance timing and raise rpm. Also widend intake and exhaust. This should up rpm and overall power. From passed experience it does Did a few tree jobs might play more this coming spring in the tree's

Dana 80 4.10's to 3.54 swap
I have tall tires to 285x75x17 not quite 35s. I think I'd be hating life if I had 31s. Though guess I'd just drive slower. I think youl be 2200 or so at 80 with small tires with 3.54. Manual and auto spin about the same

upgrade HY 35 turbo to HX 35
I'm running a 62 65 14 turbo with 100hp injectors with smarty on 3 timing at 3 and duration 3. Truck makes more power then I k ow what to do with. And runs cool towing some weight. I had 100hp injectors with the hy35 and had to peddle of egts had waste gate turnbuckled made about 28is maybe 30 sometimes. And had peddle off egts towing. Now with 62 65 14 turbo I go as fast as i want while towing never even really look at egt gauge anymore. I get 17-19 but tow allitle on st every tank. Idrecommend a 62 turb and 150s then add programmer later. If it spools slower than hy35 it's just barely I have not done head studs yet and make a about 38-40psi. I'll do 150 injectors at some point and studs

47re won't downshift to 1st gear
I doubt it will start in first I when selector is in 2nd. I agree regardless of parts age that pressure sensor and transducer are likely suspect, Regardless of codes thrown or not. Mine had similar issues I also thought it was temperature related. I also already had upgraded electronics on board. I did change to GM sensor and new transducer at the time sensor is gms 4l60e gov pressure sensor. Not entirely sure how much of an upgrade or any over the borg sensor. For some reason the GM sensor is listed for 2000up 47re not sure why. I was not expecting to notice anything but did notice quicker shifts after installing and 2nd gear starts went away truck never threw codes. I think transducer was likely the culprit but no sense in changing just one alone. Higher pressures are hard on parts exspecly when idle psi is at factory wot pressure 2000up https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123656733827 Listed for 98-03 https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F302114185385 I actually found this part instock at a local transmission warehouse in idaho. Directions with part even say 2000 up Good luck
