MPG fooler - Design phase
What would you like to know about propane? There is a massive thread here: Propane & water Meth Thread I am using both currently and have my SMARTY on setting 1, the fuel saver and aggressive timing.

MPG fooler - Design phase
So far it has helped me. It may help only in the winter time, but I am not sure yet, as I haven't run it in the summer. So, currently time will tell.

MPG fooler - Design phase
Well, I just filled up and I used 17.395 gallons of fuel and went 237 miles. So, I got 13.625 MPG for those miles, and half of them were towing 10k.

Motor swap question
You should be able to put it in and use it as long as you use the 235hp motors ECM. You may have to take the truck to the dealer and have them reflash the ECM to your truck, I am not sure about this though. While you are doing the swap, you might want to do a transmission upgrade while it is out. Others will chime in.

High Beam
On my Sport with the dual headlights I use a 9004, low and a 9007, high. You may have picked up the wrong bulb, as it is just a single high beam.

MPG fooler - Design phase
Pulled about 10k yesterday, still got about 17 mpg with fooler and about 40 mph headwind/crosswind. I haven't filled up yet, but I will post the results.

Otis / evic info
From what I understand, every truck should have all the wiring preinstalled. Yet, I am not sure. The only way to know is to take the overhead console down and check.

Otis / evic info
I do also have the overhead display.

Removing Alternator
There is a tensioner below the alternator. It has a 3/8" square hole in it for a 3/8" ratchet. You may need to use a cheater pipe. Looking down from the radiator.

Help!! Fuel Pressure Gauge Install trouble
This is how I did mine, you can see the banjo bolt, short nipple, 90* elbow, then snubber hose, which goes to the pressure sensor. He may have left out or reused the old banjo bolt washers, if so they need to be replaced.

A/C compressor cycles when not selected
The A/C cycles when you have the defrost selected. This way the fluid inside gets circulated and the pump is lubricated. This is a normal operation for the A/C unit.

MPG fooler - Design phase
When I posted this question, I was trying to see what you could do for MPG's. I realize that this is hard to do, also I know from experience that keeping it above 20 is extremely hard, especially with the changing terrain, road conditions, etc. For a while, I thought that keeping the engine RPM low that I was getting the best MPG, on this I was WRONG. I found that keeping the RPM up around 1900-2100, that I was getting better MPG's by using the ECO setting on the overhead. Now, I realize that every truck is different, and they all get different MPG's, you just have to find the best RPM/gear that your engine/trans delivers. Since I have been using the overhead, I have changed my driving habits to get better MPG's. For the longest time, when I was driving on the Interstate, I would generally turn off the ECO mode, because I don't want to be upset about how low the instant MPG's were. Now, I leave it on to see how my MPG's are doing. Where I am, the speed limits are 75 MPH on the Interstate, 65 and below on the secondary highways. Now, when using the IAT Fooler, I get even better MPG's. Even though the increase has been about 2 MPG's. So over the course of a tank of fuel I am only going 60 miles further, so it is a little better. All I am doing is turning the fooler on.

MPG fooler - Design phase
There is a setting in the overhead that gives instant MPG readouts.

Rogan, What does you overhead normally read? Have you tried to set it on ECO, and try and keep it above 20? Also, have you accounted for the larger tires in the mileage? You may be getting better than you thought.

How Lucky Can You Get
That is just so not fair! I am envious of you, because I have to drive 90 miles to be close to any of those types of businesses!

Fuel Economy with the ToyHauler.
Yes, Check the electric brakes, wheel bearings, tire pressure, etc. Since it is a flat face, you might try a topper for the truck, like MM has on his, to get the wind up and over. Or you might have to put a 'bubble nose' on it to make the air flow around it better.
