  1. Where in South East CO is your ranch?
  2. Do you use Seafoam in you diesel??If so, why?If not, why?Just looking for everyones opinion on this.
  3. Welcome to the Site!
  4. Welcome to the Site!
  5. You might be able to get a programmer for it. This might help. Also, try resetting/tightening the bands in the trans.Get a better air filter system.Full synthetics all around.Check the brakes for dragging.Test compression, see if they are within 15% of each other.Possibly do a leak down test to see if it is leaking past the rings or valves.
  6. How to get better mileage?Only drive it down hill, then tow it back up hill with the truck. Don't drive it.
  7. From the update, then you really should look into the wiring harness/plugs to see if that is the problem.Otherwise, you may need to replace both sensors in order to see if they are the culprits.
  8. Wewlcome to the Forum!!First the codes:P0215-Fuel injector control circuitP0314-Single Cylinder MisfireP1689-No Communication Between ECM and Injection Pump ModuleP1690-Fuel Injection Pump CKP(crankshaft speed sensor) does not agree with CKP(crankshaft speed sensor) signalFrom these you need to check the wiring to the Crankshaft Speed Sensor. Also need to check the wiring to the injection pump. This will get you a start on the problem. You may need to get a new CKP for your truck in order to clear some of these codes.Others will chime in.

    Welcome!
  10. Welcome!!!
  11. If you are heading close to southern Colorado, stop by, I have a set of headlights that you might like.
  12. OUCH! Just don't tell anyone.
  13. Here is the most inexpensive exhaust place that I have found on the 'net. They only carry 4" for your truck, and that would be your only option. With a 4" exhaust, you would have cooler EGT's, better flow through the engine. Do you have any type of upgraded air filter, if not, then you also need to consider that. Others will chime in.
  14. Looks like the answer is 'Yes'.
  15. Where are you located at currently?Try the easy stuff first. You might try resetting the APPS, as it might have lost its settings. Truck dying going down the road, then the idle being erratic. Then no response from pushing on the skinny pedal.Does your lift pump turn on when you bump the starter(not starting the truck).Do you know if the '01 engine is an H.O. Have someone there look at the injection pump and see if it has 235(S.O.) or 245(H.O.) on the label.
  16. Get a scan tool and erase the codes first, then drive it around for a bit, or start it up and see which ones return. The P0237 is an over boost code, not to worry too much yet.The P0251, P0252 mean that you are needing to get a new VP 44 injection pump because the internal moving parts are broken/stuck. You might try some 2 stroke oil in your fuel to see if that helps the codes. As the 2 stroke will add lubrication to the fuel for the VP. For your use, you might try 1.5 ounces to 1 gallon of fuel for the first tank. Then go to 1 oz to 1 gallon for the rest. The P1688 means there is an internal failure in the VP.The P1693 is just a companion code to tell you there are other codes set in the PCM/ECM. Not to worry about. The codes that have me concerned are the P0251, P0252, and the P1688, these are generally the death codes for the VP.Others will chime in.
  17. The latch should only move about 1" total one way or the other, so you may have to have the wife push down slightly on the hood in order to relieve some tension on the spring/latch, in order to pop the latch.
  18. You might try HERE. I have found them to be the lowest price on the 'net, so far.
  19. You should be able to use a long screwdriver to reach the release, to pop it open. Otherwise, I am not sure as to how to open it. The book that I have for the Cirrus does not even show the hood latch.
  20. Check your tires to see if you have a broken belt. If so, it will look like a lump in tire. I had this happen to me and it was about that speed. Also, have the tires rebalanced as one of them may have become out of round.Others will chime in.
  21. Right on top of the oil filter housing there is a plug that I used. In the picture, you can see the turbo oil line and the oil temp sensor.
  22. When towing heavy, my oil temp has gotten up to 222* on the temp gauge that I have installed. This is when I was going up a 7% grade, towing about 15K. The coolant temp only got up to 200*.
  23. Are you there Russ??????
  24. Mike was thinking that you posted what I posted, so he is very confused. That is ok, because we both know that he can get help somewhere, even possibly over the rainbow, for his neurosis. :broken:Still I think that 1200* or less all day is the best temp to keep the engine components from melting.
  25. The boost volt works really well, I have been using 2 on my truck for the past year and have had no problems. Just remember to torque it to 18 ft.lbs.
