  1. You said you were no electrician so forgive me for asking this but when you started cutting wires, were the negatives disconnected from the batteries (both batteries)? If not and you cut a live circuit and it happened to touch something it shouldn't have there is no telling what got fried. About the only thing i will do electrically with the batteries connected is replace a light bulb. Anything else the batteries always get disconnected. A lot of times fuses will save you if you do something silly, but not always... Hopefully it is something aftermarket that got toasted and not a VP or ECM or
  2. I read on here somewhere that there is an issue with the quadzilla and ECM fighing each other around the 1500-1800 rpm range. It affects the timing. Maybe that's what you're seeing and feeling happen. Hopefully @Me78569 will chime in and let you know for sure.
  3. OBDLink MX+ is on a lighting deal on Amazon right now for the next 5 hours if anyone's been on the fence about getting one.
  4. I believe this is the Xzillirator for the Ram 2500-3500 (diesel) 5.9L (325HP) 2004.5-2007 according to a quick google search
  5. Yes, IQuad BT for Android. IQuad Wi-Fi is for Apple
  6. The radio shutting off and/or resetting sounds like an interesting clue... Losing power somewhere for some reason.
  7. With a boost fooler and boost elbow on my stock truck with worn out injectors I was able to get around 30psi out of my turbo. I think a boost fooler and boost elbow will be a cheap way to get a little more boost out of your turbo till you can get the money for an Adrenaline. I would think that would help to clean up the smoke a little.
  8. I'm not sure they are actual amps, I thought they were more of a crossover. I thought they just send the high end to the tweeters in the A-pillar and keep the low end bass in the woofers in the doors. They trigger off of a relay though so maybe they do amplify also... For what its worth, I kept mine in place. I didn't want to have to re-wire everything and at some point I plan on going back to the OEM set up with just woofers in the doors and new tweeters in the A-pillar instead of full range speakers in the doors.
  9. put your VIN at the end of this link. It will bring up a build sheet for your truck. https://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/BuildSheetServlet?vin=
  10. I had an XZT in my truck and it did perk it up a little but it wasn't a big boost in power, just enough to feel it. I was getting 30 psi boost with my stock HX35 with a boost elbow too. Being that you bought it used, are you sure you got the correct box. On the back there should be a label designating it as a 98.5 - 2000 box (I think it says DXTZ98 or something like that). The cable you need to update the box is this type A to type B mini.
  11. There's one in the 3rd gen articles section
  12. I see BMW drivers are the same everywhere, not just here in the USA. I call BMWs duoche-mobiles for that reason. BTW... welcome and nice truck!
  13. Hey, I got mine from Walmart...
  14. We kid because we care... or is it, we kid because we can. I can never keep that one straight.
  15. If you get a head done by @dripley does that make it a Chicken Head?
  16. I never wore my ring to work and then I got one of the silicone rings from Qalo. I really like it. A lot lighter and more comfortable than metal and no shocky shocky
  17. No, just a plain relay that just came with the FASS pump.
  18. I know your pain @Sycostang67 When I was about 10yrs old I was helping my dad work on his car and he wanted to test the battery to see if it was charged (he was having problems getting the car to start if I remember correctly) so he grabbed 2 wires and an 1157 bulb and told me to hold the wires on the bulb while he touched the other ends to the battery. So I held the wire with my thumb and fore finger to the side of the bulb (I was 10, I didn't know any better). If you know what an 1157 bulb looks like then you know what happened next. As soon as he touched the wires to the battery and with me basically shorting the two wires together on the bulb there was a quick flash and the wire mostly just disappeared in a flash. I looked down at my fingers and where the wire that was under my fore finger was is now a charred indent in my finger. I remember it not hurting for about 5 minutes and then the pain started. OUCH! That's something I'll never forget. I somehow managed to go to school for Electrical Engineering after that traumatizing ordeal later on in life.
  19. Read all about them here! We use them at work for controlling the heaters in the process chambers.
  20. I used the tap that @Me78569 mentioned. I actually bought a whole bag of them on Amazon. Greatest thing since sliced bread!
  21. These are what I bought and installed. I bought them as a cheap way to test out my system cause I wasnt sure if I had bad speakers in the front or something else so I just bought these. I'm not an audiophile or anything (besides, my truck is too loud to hear any music too well anyways) so they work well enough for me. Now I need to find some replacement tweeters for in the A pillar.
  22. The only ones I saw were the grounds that the W-T mod article talks about. I think its three black and tan wires crush spliced into a larger gauge black and tan that goes to the passenger battery. Its located by the VP44. I has the shrink tube over it with the adhesive in it.
