Another thing to think about is the further down stream from the engine the cooler the exhaust gas and it's volume is reduced negating the need for large pipes to maintain the same flow rate.

I think you may have to go to a 14" tire to get that D rating. I like Maxxis trailer tires and a 185/75-13 tire is rated at max weight of 1480(C) @ 50psi.
