  1. @RedRam You will want to do this also while your doing the PCM ground mod. Doing all three things takes care of a lot of problems now and prevents any in the future.

  3. Your in 1st gear and never going to get lock up. The trans doesn't shift to second until around 18mph. Get a Derale 15870 fan cooled heat exchanger; about $170-$180. https://www.bing.com/search?q=derale+15850+atomic-cool+remote+cooler&form=ANNTH1&refig=b420563ad6e04434a551403f0e3cd9a8&sp=8&qs=SC&pq=derale+15870&sk=AS1SC6&sc=8-12&cvid=b420563ad6e04434a551403f0e3cd9a8
  4. Lock out overdrive, then engage the convertor lock up for 3ed gear, see how the feels.
  5. All the coils in the mini ISO type relay I've tested have been between 70 and 90 ohms,
  6. 'Correct, engine control module (ECM} on the driver's side of engine block, power train control module (PCM) is on the firewall. You'll need to do the W-T charging system up grade as well. Have the new alternator tested for AC noise as well, so are bad right out of the box.
  7. You could also try this
  8. The sheriff of L A county band the sale of guns and ammo in his county. That band got shot down real quick by the court.
  9. Put the wood in the stake pocket like @dave110 said above.and pull back at the same time beat on it with the block of wood and hammer moving it back. Take the tail light assembly off so not to brake it when doing this.
  10. Does this need to be pulled in or out. If out you can put a screw jack and 4 x 4 between the pillars to apply pressure while pounding on the offending part doing a little at a time so the jack and 4 x don't fall own or the good pillar gets bent. I've used that come-along/strap/hammer method to straighten inner fenders on customer cars that had been damaged in front end accidents.
  11. I've done it by attaching a come-along or a strong ratcheting strap to the offending area. With the come-along/strap pulling I hit it with a 1-4 LB hammer with a block of wood between the metal and hammer. You have to keep the tension on the metal with the strap as you work it.
  12. See, I told you the camp counselor had log splitting as one of their activities.
  13. This is the installation sheet for the boost gauge fitting and location in 2005 when I installed the Isspro gauge. The boost bolt threaded adapter was introduced after this installation with all the venders now offering it for sale. It's another part they can make money off of and the customer doesn't have to hunt for it.
  14. Yes, 18 FT-LB is the torque for stock bolts but for this Glow Shift bolt the tightening specification is lower due to the bolt being hollow. https://www.glowshift.com/instructions/Accessories/Boost-Bolt-5.9L-6.7L-Cummins.pdf
  15. The torque spec for the Glow Shift boost bolt thread adapter is 120 IN-LB (10 FT-LB).
  16. I wish you luck with the new adventure. One of the fellows that Jag1 and I camp with has a B and B on his property in Fallbrook, CA. He has a "tiny house" the guests stay in and 5 horses for ridding. They do a good business with it year round.
  17. That's how I did mine. I bought the fittings at a Parker store.
  18. I had the same problem with an oil leak after I put my Fuel Boss on. The oil is not coming out of the bolt holes but from between the pan, gasket and block. I retightened the bolts to the FSM 18 FT-LB (215 IN-LB) and the leak stopped. I used zip ties too; bought a bag of the at Harbor Fright and zip tied the heck out of the hoses. I almost never cut the end of a zip tie when done; it keeps from turning them into little razors.
  19. This is the voltage and amperage on the blue wire when i tested it with a load. I had the amp meter hooked up backwards for that mines sign.
  20. My friend's dad bought one brand new back in '71'. It was a short bed step side, 6cyl, with 3 on the tree. He said he got it because it cost less than a car at just over $2,000.
  21. NO, You have high resistance, bad contact/corrosion, between fuse C in the PDC and the head lamp assembly. The switch is on the ground side of the bulbs.
  22. I use my wife's cell phone her carrier is Verizon, as a hot spot and link through it to get the internet when traveling. You will then be able to open the blm,gov/maps link and down load the maps. https://www.blm.gov/maps There are also apps that you can that show all public lands with trails and campgrounds. https://www.bing.com/search?q=public+lands+app&FORM=R5FD1
  23. I've searched the internet for a 96, 97, or 98 12v wire diagram with no luck. I was going off the 94 12v diagram for that gray/black wire.
  24. The ECM is what controls the lift pump from pins #15 and #35. Most of the mechanics who work at the dealers don't have the experience on these older trucks to properly diagnose them. Below are a few articles to help with what needs to be done.
