air filter
I did the rubber hose on the low pressure AC pipe between the evaporator and the accumulator. I made my heat shield from the heat shielding material used between the catalytic converter and the bottom of a car. I use the same shielding material for the exhaust pipe of a generator in my 5th wheel. Exhaust pipe side ~200°F+ and the other side ~95°F

Help stuck, failed steering gear and power steering pump
I can't remember exactly how long but It took two or three days for all the air to purge it self from the system and the noise to stop.

Any one use these injectors
I've decided to get the proven brand, Bosch RV 275 injectors. There is nothing wrong with my injectors and I want to keep them. On Dap's web site the RV 275 are $ 65 each plus $17core charge for total of $492. At another DAP web ad, they are selling them for $379 and $100 core charge Dap is selling them on E-Bay for $489 with no core charge Vulcan want $429 with no core charge.

Any one use these injectors
I'm getting ready for a 5200+ mile trip and with just over 100K miles on the clock I've been thinking about replacing my injectors when I do the valve adjustment before I go. I was looking at Bosch 275's when I came across these on E-bay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Dodge-Cummins-RV275-Performance-Injectors-for-98-5-02-24-VALVE-5-9L/161397044745?hash=item2594037609:g:KBQAAOSwxH1T8Kjl&vxp=mtr They're made/supplied by Sundieselsystems http://sundieselsystems.com/performance-products/performance-injectors/ Has anyone had any experience with this brand of injectors?

Valuable parts question
Sorry to here that. Some people are real proud of their junk. I bet a salvage yard wouldn't give him more than $150 for the pile. I've found it best to talk to the owner face to face as soon as you find out that there is a vehicle to be sold /salvaged/ parted out. Then you know yes, no or hell no. I have people calling me up all the time to see if I want to either buy their cars or take them off their hands or part them out. I use to take them and part them out but the Boss Lady put her foot down and told me she didn't want to live in a "junk yard". Since the first of the year I've had 5 cars offered to me. Two belonged in the bone yard and one wanted $1000 to much. Last week I got Volvo for free that just needed a transmission control unit, cost $100 for a used one. Today I bought a used Volvo wagon for $100 that has a blown head gasket, I estimated cost of repair, parts and machine work, less than $500.

Towing EGT's
I've driven that grade a few times, coming from pheasant hunting just north of Calexico, pulling my 8k lb. 5er. To keep my temps down I down shift to 3ed, lock up the TC, work the throttle and hope I don't get stuck behind a big rig that's doing 30 One time I had to take the Edge EZ off to run it through smog but it just unplugged and plugged back in. I left the boost elbow on and kept the boost under 20.

Dually suggestions
Could have been the exhaust brake that did the transmission in.

Dually suggestions
Take the total of what the major parts are worth, salvage yard price, add 10% and no more. This way if the truck turns into a turd you can part it out and brake even or better.

Where did you mount your Fass Relay?-(wire harness)
You can get the relay installed in the PDC with a little work. I installed a micro relay for my back up pump but there is an open slot there for a micro relay. You can add the mini relay here with a fuse This is the underside of the PDC. The fused power wire for the relay would come from P and go over to the R area. You can get the OEM terminals and other parts from a used PDC out of a gas ram.

Ignition switch
Try a different key. Spray a little lube into the tumblers. Remove ignition switch from lock and see how the lock turns with key verses the switch.
-
stop P0230 code in a Fuel boss only setup
That's great to hear. I like the relay set up, that's what I have but in the PDC. The power draw between pins 86 and 85 of that type of relay is .15-.18 amps with a resistance of ~80Ω. So it doesn't take much to fool the EMC and turn of the light.

Finally, Tie rod ends and drag link replacement.
Measure front steering tow in/out. Drive a 16p nail through a 2-3' long 2X4. Jack up a front wheel and with white spray paint spray a line on the center of the tire while spinning the wheel. Before the paint dries place the tip of the nail on the center of the tire. Holding the 2X4, so the nail doesn't move, spin the tire. Now you have reference points front and back of the tire to measure. Do the same to the other tire. Place tires on ground with weight of truck on them. Using a stick,2X2 and no shorter than 77", place it against the front of the 2 tires and mark on it where the center of the tires are. Now take the stick to the rear of the tires. Using one of the marks on the stick as a common point for front and back of the right tier mark the stick where the left rear center line is. Measure the distance between these two marks and this will be the front end tow set. If the front measuring mark is greater than the rear then the wheels are towed out, and if less then they are towed in.
