I have developed some wonder in my steering, so I was checking all the joints underneath, I have Luke’s links all the way around and they all seem to be tight and I noticed the track bar bushing has a lot of slop, I am sure I replaced that bushing ( it’s a rubber one) when I did the joints about 6 ago but maybe I should go with a poly one this time? Any one got any recommendations on them. I see a wide price range on them from about 17 dollars on amazon to about 50 dollars from the high end manufactures

Wife in wheel chair and doing a few measurements on our 2 wheel drive I think I can remove back seat and front seat on her side and might be able to get her in by using short alum loading ramp from ground to door bottom plate then I think I might have enough room. Maybe their was a reason for quad doors without a center post? Anybody seen or heard of this? Truck has been sitting 2 years...itching to drive it again. For now staying away from the mega dollar wheelchair lifts. Her condition is suppose to be "short" term but has dragged on longer than Dr's thought it would. Would be nice to just manually shove her in and spin wheel chair and pick up s…

Is there a way to shut the alarm off until I figure out why it continually is going off? I think I have a door lock issue and it goes off EVERY time I open the door. would be nice if it were just on a fuse, though I could see that being very pointless once a thief figures out where that fuse is

I have a 2001 ram 2500 sport edition that's currently red. I've been considering having it repainted due to the clear coat peeling on the hood and roof. I like the look of the red color but I absolutely love the forest green color. I also intend on bed lining the bottom part to prevent rock chips and I'm trying to find some pictures of the 2 colors with a black bed liner and cannot find any. This is my truck color right now and i'm leaning more towards the green sport look. Does anybody have any pictures of what i'm looking for or have any thoughts? I don't want to be a cop magnet but I want to have a nice looking truck, I'm just not sure how the bed liner …

Preparing for 3rd gen brakes come nice weather. Looking for 17” 3rd gen wheels on craigslist now, debating steel vs aluminum. Either way, I’ll get them powder coated black. I like the look of the aluminum ones but steelies are cheap. Any downside to running the steels for now? No super heavy towing, mostly loading my 8’ bed with firewood and an occasional light trailer.

I know, old topic. It's just that no one seems to be in the same situation I am. I just finished replacing front rotors, calipers, and pads (Powerstop Z36 kit) and discovered the passenger side hub was shot, spun like a fidget spinner. Also replaced the driver side axle shaft assembly since the threads got screwed up taking the nut off. Anyway, I also threw a new ABS sensor on the driver side hub from a brand new bearing my friend messed up and gave to me, since I had access to it. I get everything back together, bleed the brakes, and as soon as I cross the 20-25 mph mark, the ABS/Brake Christmas tree lights up. Does not come on with brake pedal action, comes on when I hi…

Today I went to borrow my friends car hauler to rescue my broken down commuter car and only the brake lights and turn signals would work on the trailer. I tried my second 7 pin connector for the 5th wheel in the box and it was the same thing, so I figured the problem is upstream of the 7pin connectors. Did a bit of reading and found the big square 40a fuse in the fuse box in the engine bay and sure enough she was toast. Stole the 40a from the fuel heater until the parts store opens in the morning and everything was working again. I'm looking for some suggestions why this could have happened? I My guess is that it was one of the following things: 1) 19…

So my aux port that's always hot without key on just below cigarette lighter outlet is only working with one device plugged in, if I plug something else in it starts to turn on an off. I checked the fuse under hood and found the one marked for aux 20amp, pulled it out and looks like it's been getting hot. So I put a new fuse in still does same thing. Something is getting hot and acting as a on off switch. Here is a fuse I pulled out. Any ideas, I'm thinking maybe something under dash is rubbing, on first glance I didn't see anything wrong.

Time to tackle my Air Conditioning slow leak before summer Its had a slow leak. Have to refill r134 every summer I checked for leakage areas last year and didnt see anything that stood out, Fittings on compressor etc Are slow leaks usually the front shaft seal on the compressor? Are these compressors on a '99 worth it to replace the seal and keep your original compressor kinda like its a good Idea to keep your original denso starter than swap it for a chineze napa junk, or is it better just to get a rebuilt compressor from rock auto Wish I had a AC sniffer.... Does harbor frieght sell a r134 sniffer leak detector…

So I don't post much, mostly read, but I wanted to share a project that I've been working on lately. I've done this before with my car and it turned out well, so I figured why not try it with the truck. I've always thought tablets would make great head unit substitutes, and they do if you like to tinker like I do. They're cheap, much better resolution screen than any in dash unit, built in nav, connect to the internet via your phone and the list goes on. All you need to do is integrate it. The first time around in my STI, I hard wired everything and used a program called automate to make the tablet function like a head unit should. It would turn the screen on when the ign…

I know the classic abs/brake lights, one of the many curses for these truck but here we go. replaced both front sensors, replaced the sensor in the rear diff, checked all the wiring, checked the switch for the e-brake, brake fluid is good, all calipers work as they should. Recently came into a good scanner that could read ABS codes and hooked it up, it'll read engine no problem but not abs. Is it possible that the abs module is mad and not allowing the scanner to read and that's why the lights are on? (I also thought maybe it doesn't work but I read the codes on the jeep and the other ram, found out those issues so I know it wor…

Leveling my truck in the next coming few months and looking for some input on the parts I have selected right now. The truck is a 98.5 QCLB 2500 SRW 3.55 gears, it's my daily for the most part and tows a 30' gooseneck with 2 jeeps on the back a couple weekends a month. The most off road it sees is the occasional muddy parking lot at the off road parks. Wheel and tire set up I've chosen is to keep my 17" 3rd gen wheels and pick up some 35x12.5" Toyo AT2's. Looking to avoid running any sort of spacer if I can keep my tires from rubbing the control arms. Here's what I have picked out so far: -Carli 3" lift coils (CJC Offroad) -Bilstein 5100 shocks (CJC Offroad) …
