  1. Personally I don't think any electric gauge is accurate because over time the electric senders start to fail slightly skewing the reading, or electrical issues with grounds or such skewing the readings, etc. This another reason I stayed away from them stuck solely to mechanical gauges. Because a mechanic gauge will continue to work even when the truck fails. Where most electric gauges fail and give you fail security. Like a common issue is fuel pressure sender starts to fail and the pressure start to rise more than actual. Remember this just my personal opinions...
  2. If I'm not mistaken that is the CAD axle vent.
  3. I did separate gauges because then that way not all your eggs are in one basket. Edge Juice when it fails you'll lose the gauges and everything else. But with separate gauges and Edge Comp if a gauge fails just replace the single gauge. If the Edge Comp fails just replace the Edge Comp. For the most part Edge Comp and Edge Juice are the same except that Edge Juice put everything in one module (all your eggs in one basket) and Edge Comp doesn't have any extras.
  4. Glad our little chat on the phone nailed it down for ya...
  5. As for spot on the floor doesn't mean there is blow by exactly. But if you suspect blow by issues I would do a compression test and verify the engine health. Don't bother with a blow by test because its not going to show independent cylinder number but a summary of all. As for your choice of 0w-40 might be too thin. I typically run 15w-40 all the way down to minus number weather.
  6. Well I can can show you with 2 pictures I got from another member over on CumminsForum.com.The ECM circuit board is folder in half inside the case frame. This first picture has all the 50 pin connector that is facing the fender.I the next picture down toward the bottom edge you can see the processor, RAM, PROM, etc. This half is facing the engine.
  7. Slight increase is good but after about 75 HP there isn't much to gain anymore.
  8. ... and the Admin has Redneck skills... Here it your link. http://www.dieseltrucksite.com/showthread.php?t=789 This is other can follow the article back over to DTS.com.
  9. Sorry I can't help with the fender...But I was doing work around the house cleaning up for Christmas time left the tailgate and topper glass open and forgot about it. The jumped in the truck pull forward out of the garage hook the topper rear window on the garage door frame and tore the entire lower frame off the glass without breaking the glass. Thankfully for killer neighbor he had a super idea on how to fix it. :smart:So you not the only one with dumb butt moves...
  10. Sorry but I don't know of any testing done yet. I know my freezers here don't get cold enough to do the testing. Chevron fuel here in Idaho has a pour point of -20*F. So I would need a good chunk of dry ice and and small cooler to do the testing with. My little digital thermometer is good for -45*F. Just never got around to watching diesel fuel freeze.
  11. Be careful with any throttle holding device. This mod is not safe and the truck could be launched in gear without any way to cancel the cruise control so if you were in a hurry are upset and not thinking drop trans in reverse you might have a truck that shoving you down the drive backwards uncontrolled. I prefer a mod that if you touch the brake, throttle, trans place in gear or truck starts moving it Cancels the high idle. This way there is no mistakes and no one get hurt.
  12. Typical Diesel for Idaho has a pour point of -20*F or the fuel is completely solid. Typical 2 cycle oil has pour point of -40*F and many snowmobile oils go as low as -50*F. So my theory is if you have water and you know water freezes at 32*F and then take salt water unknown mixture of and add it to the water the freeze point will fall how far? So if the water is diesel fuel and saltwater is the 2 cycle oil so the pour point should fall how much I don't know.
  13. The hand draw the MPG fooler should be a 2.2kΩ. (single resistor)The IAT mode selector should have two 39kΩ and 56kΩ
  14. Another good article from over at IdahoTurboDiesels.com http://1389blog.com/2012/12/23/larry-correia-refutes-the-gun-controllers-once-and-for-all/
  15. Not yet... But let me dig around and I'll see what I can find.

  17. 3.3k ohm is ECT fooler.2.2k ohm is the MPG fooler.
  18. A wonderful blanket...
  19. Not helping the matter... Typically when I'm home the pistol is either in my bedroom or just on the desk. Being there is no children and rarely do I get any guest here. I'm not terribly worried. But those of you with families with children I highly suggest for the safety of your family and children that there is a strict gun rules in your household. Many households out here start children in there early teens about guns and rifles so the kids know the dangers of them. As for the access of personal weapons. Now that is a thin line for all different types of answers. Personal view is what good is a weapon locked up in a safe? You not going to tell you attacker, "Hey wait a second while I unlock the gun cabinet." Kind defeats the purpose of self defense weapon. What good is a self defense weapon if left at home or in your vehicle? But back to the shooting... The shooting at least in my eyes in like Ryan said setup and controlled for media stunt to get parent to vote for stricter gun laws. Kind of like Eric Holder getting caught selling guns to Mexico to stir up problems for the US border. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Holder So way I see it the Gov't create the chaos and then step in with we've got the fix for this chaos. (Once again these are my personal views) PS: Merry Christmas all... UPDATE Like MoparMom and I have been talking also. Why is it that all mass shootings like in CT. are done by illegal gun carriers? So far from what MoparMom has found there is never been a single shooting where a person had a concealed weapons permit. So going after the legal gun owners in not the right thing to do here. Like myself I had a background check done, taken course here in Idaho for concealed weapons, etc. I've done everything the state requires to be a legal gun owner.
  20. Just look at the original switch layout... You'll see my goof... :banghead:
  21. Merry Christmas to you and your families as well.
  22. I just use a pair of vise grips on the fuel hose to the tank. Just enough pressure to squeeze the fuel line shut.
  23. Oh... The smell of coolant might be a heater core issue staring. Mine didn't fail from corrosive coolant but the thin solder joint failed and was weeping on top of the HVAC box.
